We were referred to Royal Coach by Car-One Tire & Auto, and I am sure glad that they did! Now I don't have to worry about finding a great mechanic or an auto body shop. We had some work to be done on one of our cars, which required special attention due to the sensors involved. Royal was very understanding even though there was a situation with the insurance that was paying the bill. Royal was able to not only get the parts and repair the car in a reasonable time frame, but they went above and beyond with cleaning up the car. They removed some "Art" my young children had made on the inside of the car doors (which I appreciated) in addition to making the car look brand spanking new. What was interesting is that the last time we had to have our car worked on, at another body shop, they had to drop off the car at a dealer to get the sensors calibrated. Royal was able to do it onsite and get it done quickly, which was great! Royal also made it easy to get our rental car situation addressed. My car had quite a bit of damage from a hailstorm. After an estimate, I decided to take my vehicle to Royal Coach to fix the damage. The entire process was an easy one. From being put into a rental, to having my car delivered back to me looking brand new. The gentlemen up front were kind and explained every step to me. I never felt like I was being spoke down to or with any sort of condescending tone. I was shot straight! I completely appreciated that. Months later, I went to a franchise/chain oil change place to have my oil changed and they informed me of a leak in my gas tank. I was given a quote by the chain. At the oil change chain, I was quoted for repairs that weren't needed on top of the work that was detrimental to my vehicle and safety. My 2017 Honda Accord coupe touring V6 had a very serious front end collision over a year ago (Jan.2021). Almost totaled. No one seriously injured. (I was not driving). MAJOR front end damage. Quality work and service - all the way through! I have four kids and we have five vehicles in our family. Royal Coach has been taking care of me, my family and my vehicles for decades. I'm not kidding & I'm not related to anyone that works there. I probably spend about $10k per year on car maintenance and repairs. (What do you expect with 4 kids! We are not perfect.) I always get full explanations of what needs to be done, how they are going to do it and what it will cost. Then we discuss the priority of the work that needs to be done. Sometimes I have to delay some of their recommendations. But they fully understand and work with me. But if the car is unsafe, they will not let me take it. They even offer to pay for a rental until the repair is made! I grew up in a very small town in Western Illinois and these guys remind me of home - you can trust them on their word and their work and where a handshake is better than a written contract. I have had work done on a car that got damaged in a car wash a couple of time a few years ago. I had started with an Allstate estimate, but did not want to take the vehicle to that shop based on feedback from that shop's customers. I got a recommendation for Royal Coach from my auto detailer, TLC. I went to the shop and they uncovered much additional work that needed to be done to do the job properly. They estimated about $3,500, vs. about $1,000 from the Allstate estimate. Royal Coach dealt with Allstate, and secured the authorization to the the job properly! For both repairs, the work was flawless, and done when they said it would be done. Not fast, by the way, but that was due to ordering the correct factory parts instead of just gluing on some of the trim. Then when the time frame I chose needed to be shortened, they put extra work in to get my car to me several day early. My dad has been going here for 30+ years, I have pictures of me as a child with John (the owner) haha. Needless to say I have had to come in a multiple times for accident stuff (not at my fault) - I would never trust another body shop other than here. No corners cut, and you know the repairs/paint will last a life time. I have had small dents pulled to an entire front end changed out on my Evo8. Cool part was he helped me save money as my aluminum hood was aluminum and we were able to get a carbon fiber hood save money, and apply that money elsewhere. From John to Craig, to all the guys in the back, such a good crew! If you ever need something repaired, painted, custom work, rebuilds...etc. I would highly recommend coming to Royal Coach. If you are paying out of pocket... a little more than other shops, sure, but there is a reason for that. I've been here once before for an oil change, it had been recommended to me. I come back today to get an oil change and to get something looked at. I walk in and the guy who works there just stares at me until finally I have to ask if he works there. He then proceeds to ask me if I made an appointment--last time I used them I was told not to make an appointment. I say no and he goes on about how they're two people short today. He then proceeds to take a phone call for about 10 minutes, completely ignoring the fact that I was there. Finally after I start to look around and get ready to leave he hangs up. He doesn't check anything and just tells me straight away that he cannot fit me in today. I told him that before taking the long phone call--in which he encouraged a conversation, it sounded more like he was talking to a friend--he could have just let me know that I didn't need to wait around. Again, he just stares. Long story short, I will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone. I have taken our 2010 Honda Civic to Royal Coach twice now for repairs. The first time, another car bashed into our rear driver-side door and the entire door had to be replaced. Our then insurance agent suggested Royal Coach, and as they were the closest facility to us, we decided to give them a try. They did a flawless job replacing the door, and we were very impressed when they handed us a tiny container of paint and explained that our car, which looks black, is actually blue and a very hard color to match. The container of paint was extra, in case we had any future touch-ups to do anywhere else on the car. How wonderful! So when a van dinged our front bumper with its door this January, I took the car back to Royal Coach for an estimate. They were confident it could be fixed with Paintless Dent Repair, or PDR, and I felt better knowing that if it couldn't be fixed that way, they would be able to match our paint color. Once again, the fix looks flawless - you would never know the car had been dented. The estimate was $75 more expensive than the others we received, but I don't think you can put a price on exceptional, honest work, and that's what I've found at Royal Coach. I had the most unexpected great experience at Royal Coach repair shop this week! We brought our SUV in for a clanking in the front right wheel area. They diagnosed it as one thing, but when the part arrived, they realized it wasn't that problem but something else. They fixed what was actually wrong, and replaced the first diagnosis without charge - since they had ordered it anyway. They were completely honest, they did the right thing and charged me only for the true problem with my vehicle. I know they could have charged me $1000s or more, but fairly charged me for the correct diagnosis. I will return, I bring all my cars there for oil changes, and I will recommend them to everyone. Recently, my car got side swiped, the bumper was slightly sticking out and there 6-7 areas where the paint was completely pealed off. I wanted to get it fixed immediately. I arrived soon after they opened (7am) and they did an estimate. Since I was paying out of pocket I was really worried about how much it would be. They placed the bumper back on so it wasn't sticking out, did a fantastic paint job so that only if you really looked closely at my car you would see where the paint peeled. I was super pleased the fact they were able to accommodate me that morning without any appointment even though they looked pretty busy that day. After being rear-ended a couple months ago, my husband took his car to Royal Coach and had nothing but positive things to say about their service. I thought Royal Coach was strictly an auto body shop but I was wrong. Apparently they do it all. After being flagged down last night for not having brake lights, I immediately searched Yelp for somewhere to get them fixed. Location is a search filter, but mostly I prefer local small businesses and great personal service over anything else. Royal Coach came up highly rated and there's definitely a reason for that! I called to ask if they could look at my brake lights and not only did they urge me to bring my car in immediately, as they recognized the urgency, they more than accommodated me in resolving the problem in such short notice. Even more awesome - I'd had low tire pressure light come on a few weeks ago. I just added some air, assuming it was d/t the insanely cold weather. Even though I went in for brake lights, they did a courtesy check & found a nail in it. Someone was looking out for me cause I wouldn't have wanted to change a flat in these below zero temps! I would be remiss in not mentioning their fees were more than reasonable for the effort and the work that was performed. From the front desk, to the kids toys to keep my young children occupied, to the individualized service advice from Craig - I couldn't be happier. I have used Royal Coach for at least 30 years. No job is too small or too big for them. I've had everything from a $2000 door dent to a $15,000 front end rebuild always done perfectly. Most recently, I had a rear fender dent repaired. When I got in my car, I was shocked to see they totally cleaned the inside of my car from all the winter crud. I was looking to get an estimate on my vehicle and even though I was not a paying customer the individual that helped me did so in another way. Seeing that there was previous work done on the vehicle I was needing service and instead of pushing for me to become a customer he instead pointed me in a direction where I wouldn't have to spend a dollar. I usually do not give anyone 5 stars, however it is well deserved. My car was in an accident and I went to Royal Coach because it is close to my house. They gave me an appointment the same day and gave me an estimate. I have farmers insurance and they provided me their own estimate. Even though, Royal Coach's estimate was couple hundred dollars more, It was legit and they got farmers to pay for it. They told me my car will be ready in 10 days and I had it exactly then. I had some body work done on my car last month after hitting the side of it (I won't get into what happened). I just wanted to say that the work Royal Coach did was way beyond my expectations! I've had work done at other body shops before, on this car & on other cars in the past - some of the work was good, some not so good. I always expect to get my car back with something that just wasn't the same as it was before. But that didn't happen this time. The work was absolute perfection! As a young woman who is pretty much clueless about cars, I was already nervous enough to come alone to royal coach to get an estimate (my first time doing anything like this). My car had damage on the front end, but it wasn't anything crazy. Nothing compared to a big accident I had in the winter. I came for my appointment and Jp was the one giving me my estimate. He was very clearly taking advantage of me already because of my lack of knowledge about cars. But when I said that I would be paying out of pocket, that's when he knew he could attempt to scam me beyond what I thought. He told me my car would cost over 6 grand to fix (more than the original cost of my car), that my car was "unsafe" even though I had been driving it for 2 weeks since the accident & had no issues with it, AND tried to sell me a rental car to take home. I'm not even old enough to get my own rental car. After this ridiculous experience, I took my car to a different place for an estimate. The amount they gave me wasn't even HALF of what I was told at Royal Coach. I don't typically leave yelp reviews as is, but I also will not be taken advantage of because I'm a girl. I have a '96 Cadillac Fleetwood. It is pristine, but I have had some minor accident issues with it,\. The latest one was the driver's side rear view mirror (heated and powered) was knocked off. The car is 24 years old. The mirror was not repairable but John found a replacement (I don't know how) and the car is like new again. I know they went to a LOT of trouble to locate this no longer available part. Because of this and other issues over the years that any other place would just have abandoned or just "short cut", R/C rates with me as the finest auto service outfit on the planet.
