Absolutely awesome! Took care of a large dent in my quarter panel and replaced my bumper, Looks good as new. Communicated consistently throughout the whole process and worked seamlessly with my insurance. Also worked really well with Enterprise car rental to ensure I had a ride while my car was in the shop. I was astounded that they even cleaned the inside of my car from top to bottom after taking care of the body work. The interior looks brand new! Unfortunately, I got into my first car accident. My insurance referred me to Gerber and I'm very happy with how they took care of my car. The damages were pretty extensive and I'm so grateful that Gerber was able to fix my poor car. They called me a couple times during the 2 weeks that it took to fix my car just to update me on parts and an estimated time frame for completion. Gerber Collision in Schaumburg is a ripoff. My vehicle got shipped to them from the Elgin facility for repairs Elgin could not do, they had the vehicle for over a month with little to no communication to me as to what was going on, they left my vehicle outside with the front rotor & caliper exposed which caused them to rust, corrode & drag, damaging the rotor & loaded up the differential with water, they said they did an alignment, which they could not have possibly done with a broken strut spring in the front as well as not replacing the 4 wheel drive actuator which was crushed in the accident. Fast forward 1 yr & about 1000 miles, I took it to a real mechanic & $2200 out of pocket later he found all the things that Gerber neglected to fix & fixed them, nobody including the Insurance company to this day has called me back about this! Horrible work, horrible service, horrible communication, lied to me about transferring of the vehicle back to Elgin, it was driven, not flatbeded as requested. I wouldn't take a tricycle to this place for repairs. Beware. If I could give zero Stars I would but this is the only way I could get my review out there read more

This is the place to go for car auto repairs. Over the years, third time our family has been here and first time review. I'm not sure which stands out the most. The folks that work here or the excellent job they've done to my car. The personnel were very friendly and accommodating. They did an excellent repair job on my car and it carries a life time warranty. The car was in for a short time and completed two days sooner. I was very happy with the collision repair Gerber performed on my vehicle, looks like new. They took care of all the insurance issues , had convenient rental drop off service , did an amazing job, kept me posted via text, phone or email at least twice a week. Staff was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and make everything so easy for their customers. From start-to-finish, I was completely blown away with this company -- their customer service is impeccable as is their repair work. I received a very reasonable quote through their phone app... with just a couple of pics of the damage and the vin, it took about 2 days to get my quote. Once I was able to make an appointment, I called and set it all up. I was able to bring in my car the very NEXT day. Throughout the process, they would send me cute little texts saying "Your Hyundai is in good hands!", etc. And they would call with any updates on extra repairs and what not. My car was scheduled to be done on the following Tuesday, but they were able to finish it by Friday. As I was paying, I got a $100 off (or I could've opted for a free-rental). Melissa at the front desk was a peach and Matt who repaired my car did an outstanding job. I really hope I never have to see the place again, but if I do, I know I will be in good hands. read more

My car was damaged, while it was parked. Other driver's insurance had me get an estimate from this location (not all Gerber are alike). This one is outstanding. I am so glad I was sent there. Denise, their office person, could not have been nicer. Daryl, the adjuster was also very personable, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I could have gone anywhere to get the body damage repaired, but I decided on this Gerber location, because of Denise and Daryl. I had some additional body work done, at my cost. I knew the work would take about a week to complete. I was kept informed with daily progress report sent to my cell phone; a reassuring extra touch that I appreciated. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, to my surprise, it looked like it had been detailed. The floor mats were vacuumed, the chrome wheels were polished and I think the car had been washed. My 2004 PT cruiser looked like it just come from the showroom. I admit when I left the car it really needed a good cleaning. I still can't believe how great it looked. The body work was excellent!!!! My insurance company insisted I use Gerber for my windshield. The first appointment was re-scheduled because the technician scratched the new glass. When I made the next appointment I made sure that it was in the morning. When I didn't hear from them by noon I called. They told me they were just the collision department and I had to call the "GLASS" department. Long story short...they lied to me and told me they had talked to the technician and he was finishing up and would call me in 10 minutes. When the Technician did not call after 30 minutes, I called back and was told by the "COLLISION" department (where the car was going to be work on) that the car had not been looked at!!!!!!!!! I can tolerate a lot but NOT SOMEONE LYING TO ME. read more

One of my new parts came in damaged (during shipping) so they had to reorder another one but they took care of me and got me a rental for the extra days needed to replace the new broken part. Called up Matt over at Gerber and he went out of his way to ensure that my experience was perfect. I came in for an rear-end that wasn't my fault and Matt ensured that I had a rental ready, car thoroughly examined and communicated with me closely throughout the process. Even though they didn't have the parts in stock and had to order parts directly from Germany, they were quick to inform me and ensure that I didn't have any issues keeping my rental over the initial time. Also, just because my exhaust didn't line up exactly right, it was not acceptable and they made sure to replace it. I can't say that I've ever gone to any other body shop that has gone out of their way for that level of quality. Lastly, I brought my car in with 5,000 miles and had some nasty factory swirls that Matt pointed out. His team went out of their way to buff them out and I can confidently say it looks smooth as glass now! Had an excellent experience working with Gerber Collision & Glass to repair the driver side door that was bent all the way back. Brought it in and was able to get someone to look at it right away for an estimate, they even were able to work with my insurance for financing after I filed a claim with my provider. Was able to complete the work in a timely manner and offered to help find rental car while it was being repaired. I also appreciated the text updates to let me know the progress of the repair. The final walk through and result looked like nothing had ever happened, matching paint and clean lines throughout plus they went over anything else on the vehicle that might need attention. I took my 2006 Highlander here with front and rear bumper damage after a Pizza Hut 16-year-old delivery guy slammed into me as I pulled into my driveway. I had been to the Gerber in Wheeling on Milwaukee Avenue twice before and wasn't thrilled with their service. So I went to this one with the hopes of a better experience. When I dropped it off I pointed out the front and rear damage. I was given a reasonable time frame to return for pick up. Upon returning, I saw that they hadn't even touched the front bumper. I wasn't upset, because things happen. The General Manager, a customer-focused man named Matt, saw me as I was checking out the front if the car. As I went into the office I explained that the front bumper wasn't repaired. Apparently, as I found out later, the girl I walked around the car with wrote the front bumper repair request on the back of a different piece if paper. So I had to leave tot there again. This is where Matt showed incredible service and drive, no pun intended, to get me to a state of satisfaction. He told me he would call the next day to give me a time estimate for when it would be ready. It was the holidays, snow everywhere and accidents all over the place so I assumed about 4-5 more days. I didn't hear from him until late in the day, but there'd be a great reason for that. When I was just about to call, he called me to say the car was DONE! I found out later that he had 4 guys working on it simultaneously so I could get it that day instead of waiting. Not only that, but since I couldn't pick it up that day, he came in ON HIS DAY OFF the following day when I picked it up to be sure I was satisfied. Owning my own business I'm fully aware that sometimes things happen that result in problems, it's how you respond that counts. Matts response to an error in paperwork far exceeded what I was expecting. His attention to detail and effort to fix my situation show his drive to be the best. One thing he said specifically really stuck with me. He said, "I don't get out if bed every morning to be second best." This guy lives that motto. Thumbs up and Praise from me! Thank you! read more

WOW! UTTER PERFECTION! THESE GUYS ARE A-LIST. My mom got into a car accident and it was so bad her insurance company totaled it. Ummmm, sorry insurance company, but she loved her car so much she decided to get it fixed. We took it to Gerber and they didn't even blink an eye when we told them we wanted it fixed! It's an older car but they somehow FOUND PARTS! It took a few weeks due to the extent of the damage, but it came out looking BRAND NEW! Plus, they send you text messages with progress reports. It was done earlier than they predicted and they didn't rip us off just because my Mom is a senior citizen. I will post pictures of the before and after by this weekend but I'm telling you, with God as my witness, her car is PERFECT. It looks BRAND NEW. It was cleaned inside and out. I think it was even waxed! From top to bottom, every single person I talked to at Gerber was friendly, nice, kind, understanding, polite and beyond professional. You don't find this type of personalized customer service anymore. I live in the city but if I EVER need body work done on my truck, I am bringing it to them. From the second I walked in the customer service here was excellent! I was given a bag because one of the women working at the desk notice I couldn't carry everything that I had to take out of my car. The ladies and a very sweet man helped me out and could not have been nicer to me. I work in customer service so I'm fairly picky when it comes to how customers are treated. Each person I met told me exactly what was going on with my car and there was excellent communication. When I got my car back (took about a week because my car was in bad shape) it was absolutely gorgeous. I'm pretty sure they washed my car and maybe waxed it? I don't know but it was really shiny and they removed a rust stain from the hood of my car as well. Not only did they fix what was wrong with my car but they also went above and beyond for no additional charge. I was blown away at how well my car was taken care of here. If I could give 0 Stars, I would!!! If you have the choice, DO NOT take your car to this location!! They completely RUINED my car. Before my car accident, my car was fine, and driveable (might I add)!! Had the car towed to this location, it took them 3.5 weeks to do some ok body work and then completely ruin the mechanics! My car is no longer driveable, you can't turn the steering that the breaks catch and wont stop the car properly! My car now sounds like a freaking train! Choose another location, do not choose Gerber, they will leave you without a car!!!! This is a warning, I am now without a working car and because my car was not "totaled" I am now without a working vehicle! I am left with shoddy workmanship and a car that I can't drive.
