Recently relocated to the Las Vegas area and purchased a home with Travertine tile throughout the first floor and ceramic tile in the upstairs bathrooms and laundry room. These areas obviously had NOT been cleaned in quite some time. Through a series of fluke phone calls to local flooring companies, I was referred to Jack at Ultimate Finish. Boy, are we glad we were! Jack stopped by to check out our home, take measurements and explain what Ultimate could do for us including repairs, polishing, grout repainting, etc. He also got us a printed estimate sheet that same day and then waited patiently as we had the carpeting replaced and the entire interior of the house repainted before sending over his crew to work on our floors. Naser and George did a wonderful job cleaning, repairing and bringing these dirty and, in some cases, damaged floor areas back to life. Jack came back (LOL) for the final walk through with me and gave us specific recommendations on how to maintain the floors and what products to look for and which to definitely avoid. Jack, the owner of Ultimate Finish, is a very stand up guy, and really did his best to try to resolve issues and made multiple trips back to my house in an effort to do so. He is the sole reason I am providing 2 stars, or else I would value my dissatisfaction normally at a 1-star rating. Ultimately, I spent a good deal of money to have my floors cleaned, grout repaired, and a number of discolored marks removed (they call them acid stains in the industry). Unfortunately my expectations where not well managed, as in the end, my grout is now fairly mismatched from the areas that were patched vs the existing (since the colors they offered did not match with my pre-existing -- but I only learned that after the job was completed), there are a number of hairline fractures in the grout that the guys wouldn't patch as not enough grout had been removed, and in many instances the grout wound up seeping back out of the cracks over just a few days -- causing my housekeepers to try to clean it up and apparently in doing so, removed the polish on the floors which now look like little dull streaks in various areas. Overall I just regret the whole process. I spent a good deal of money and don't have much to show for it. And now I spend more time looking at the floor than I previously did so I just notice all the imperfections that much more! I would advise anyone looking to have grout repaired with any company to verify and test color matching prior to beginning, verify whether or not hairline fractures will be repaired, and confirm the dos and don'ts of how to clean the floors afterwards and what products (chemicals and types of cloth) not to use. Jack is a great guy and really tried his best to solve the problems, but the challenge was that my expectations from the get go were that the floors/grout would be repaired and all look cohesive. Yes, I recognize that new cracks will occur over time, but at least for a little while the floors would look nice. Unfortunately what I wound up with is no where close to that, even after just a few hours once the grout dried, unfortunately. read more

First, let me say my marble floors are shiny and better. Now the bad. The main guy is a salesman and will say anything you want to hear. His workers were great, however. He spent 20 min looking, measuring and quoting my marble floors & granite counter tops. When his workers arrived, they knew immediately (like in 30 secs) the floors had a coating on them that needed to be removed. They also told me the counter tops (which were new) could not be shiner because factory polishers are heavier. When complete, my carpet was stained, grout dirty (see pics) and counter tops looked the same. In fairness, he probably would have fixed the carpet, but i just don't want him back in my house. Tip: its seems to me that most floor companies in Vegas charge about $1.50-$1.75 per square foot to clean and polish, fyi. read more

These guys did a great job! I have a house full of travertine that was very dull from years of foot traffic and pets. I also had some new travertine installed a couple of years ago that had never been polished. Jack and his team just finished resurfacing the old travertine in our home. They did an excellent job! Floors look great. He also helped us out where we had replaced baseboards, and there was a gap between baseboard and travertine. He had one of his team come over and fill in those gaps. Also, they patched some holes in the travertine. Lastly, they spent about a day resurfacing the master bath shower, which is same travertine as floor. I am extremely happy with the results. Don't use this company. They showed up 4 hours late after Jack called me every hour telling me they were on their way over.

I never looked this company up until getting ready to call them again, but I am saddened by all the negative reviews. Ultimate finish came out to our home, hired by Woodside, 3-4 times about two years ago. We had some grout discolored in our living room we were trying to have fixed. At first we thought it was just an issue with the grout curing at first, and maybe they had replaced a tile or something when they were prepping the house for us, but it turned out they used the wrong color of grout. Almond and antique white may look really close on the color chart, but you get that stuff between the tiles and it's like black and white. They ended up using a urethane sealer and sealing/staining all of our floor grout. After two years, I can say I am highly impressed. The grout stays clean, and doesn't stain! I mean, yes it still gets dirt some dirt in it because it is 1/4" grout that sits slightly lower than the tile, but it easily cleans with water. We clean out grout about one a year, twice in the kitchen, and it looks brand new! With all of our frustration with the timeline working with Woodside, I wouldn't put that on Ultimate Finish. They did a great job when they came out, and gave us a high quality product. Also, knowing what they charged Woodside, was a very reasonable price for the product we received. read more
