Staff are always nice and welcoming. They always provide fast service too! The food is so good. I've had it both door dashed to me and in restaurant. Let me say that they can cook everything up fast! Definitely no long wait times to get your meal. The portions are awesome too and always so fresh! I think this is the best authentic Japanese food you can find in the area. The food is always top shelf, but they were seriously shorthanded. After being seated more than 5 mins passed before I had to flag the waitress down just to ask for water. We arrived after 6:40 not a really busy time but it still took 14 min to get our order placed and another 15 before we got appetizers. The music was a bit too loud but the overall vibe was as expected. The menu was updated and the specials seemed very creative. We ordered the boba drinks but they forgot the boba and I had to ask for it afterwards. Overall delicious food just a bit frustrating to wait for the basic server attention. Recently dined at Umami, and while the food was good and the service attentive, the experience was ruined by the terrible smells in the restaurant. Sitting in the middle of the dining room, we were hit with two overpowering odors: strong incense and a shit smell coming from the restroom. The incense was so intense it gave me a headache, and combined with the restroom odor, it made the atmosphere unbearable. For a business that seems to be doing well, there's no excuse for this. At the very least, better ventilation is needed, and honestly, a complete renovation--or even relocation--might be the only way to fix this issue. To make matters worse, the prices are steep, which only highlights how far the overall experience falls short. No matter how good the food is, the environment needs to match, and right now, it doesn't. read more

I 100% love this place! The food is always spot on! I got the Tokyo Style Tonkotsu Ramen with spice. It was so flavorful with a nice hit of spice (making it spicy is optional). It also had the thickest pork slices I have ever seen for ramen. My partner had the Chicken Katsu Don which was so savory! We also split the Sun Flower Roll off of the chefs menu. We both really enjoyed it. I have the hot green tea to drink and I swear it must have been the best green tea I've ever had. I could drink it all day. Seriously. It was sweeter than what I prefer but there was definitely good honey flavor to it. The green tea flavor was a bit lacking though. Also ordered the tonkotsu ramen. The broth was rich and deep in porky goodness but slightly too salty for me. The ramen noodle was cooked perfectly and had a nice chew to it. The thin slices of pork were nicely charred but I wish they tender and that the egg was soft boiled instead of fully cooked.
