I made the mistake of purchasing a Stihl MS 171 chainsaw from this Ace Hardware store - clearly a…read moremajor mistake as it is a disappointing and frustrating piece of garbage. I strongly recommend against buying one. Moreover, I will never go to this dealer - Carter Ace Hardware in Eustis, FL - again. They have lost a customer and I advise others to not shop there as well. When the dealer tried to demo the chainsaw for me after I'd purchased it, it would not start and kept stalling out. The dealer said their Stihl tech would be in a couple of days later and they were sure it probably just needed a minor adjustment. The dealer called Tuesday afternoon telling me the carburetor merely needed to be adjusted, it was now working great and I could come to pick it up. When I went to the Carter Ace Hardware store to pick up the chainsaw, two of their employees tried to demonstrate how to use the saw. They, again, had significant difficulties trying to start it and keep it running. I should have cancelled my purchase then and there and asked for a refund. Major mistake on my part that I didn't. UGH. After considerable effort, they finally managed to get it running. Being a trusting individual, I made the mistake of believing their employees telling me if I had any issues I could return it. Although concerned, I very reluctantly took it home. Please note - between the time I first committed to purchase the saw and when I went in to pick it up, I watched Stihl chainsaw videos online and downloaded and read the entire Owner's Manual for the saw. Twice in the past three days since purchasing the saw I've tried to use it. Each time the saw was difficult to start and keep running. If I paused using the saw and turned it off - it was difficult to restart and took considerable effort and patience to restart to continue using it. This morning I took the saw back to Carter's Ace Hardware to return it. They were not receptive. One of the same employees who had struggled to demo the saw took it outside and, of course, it started right up and seemed to work fine. Must be operator error on my part. The bottom line - I own a chainsaw that I strongly believe is an absolute piece of garbage and DO NOT want. You will probably see it for sale on FB Marketplace or eBay because I'll definitely be buying a competitor's product. Any recommendations???

We used SW Kitchens for a large project renovating all living spaces (kitchen, pantry, mudroom,…read morelaundry, family room, living room, office) of our home in spring of 2024. Time was of the essence for us as we'd already sold our other home, and had a baby due later in the summer. Our designer Mayerlin, and project manager Adam hit the ground running to get us to "substantial completion" as soon as humanly possible so we could move out of our temporary housing before baby arrived. Not only did they make it in time, they were early! The only time we fell behind was if I needed them to change something or added scope to the job and at every turn they were helpful, professional, and took pride in their work. While we still had pending projects after bringing baby home, they worked with us to keep disruptions to a minimum. A major selling point for us with SW was their reputation for doing what it takes to make clients happy and ensuring all employees and subcontractors who entered my home we background checked quality craftsmen. They did not disappoint and we are so grateful for their skill bringing our vision to life! If you choose SW, make sure you request Mayerlin and Adam, you'll be in great hands!

I had known from the first contact with S&W that this would be the company that would be doing my Reno. Chelsea was my designer and what a fabulous job she did designing the perfect master bath. Robert was my project manager and was wonderful as well keeping me updated on what would be happening at each stage of the Reno. Anyone who entered my house was very professional, did the job they were assigned to complete. Job was completed in the time frame they had given me. I was also able to use plumbing fixtures from another source with no problems as well as the closet system. I highly recommend S&W as I will be using them for my next job coming up soon. I have added pictures of before and after. You will not be disappointed is you

On June 13, 2025, we signed a contract with them. Work began July 21, 2025. They finished on May 26, 2026. The contract stated that it would take 4 months, possibly 5, to complete the project. It took them 10 months to complete. There was a total of at least 15 weeks (a week being 5 consecutive working days, i.e., Wednesday through Tuesday) where NOTHING was done at the house. Prior to beginning demolition, they required a total of 60% of the contract to be paid. At the end of demolition and rough-in, which took 4 weeks, they required a total of 84% to be paid. Then they wanted payment for the project to be substantially complete and usable prior to the installation of the glass shower walls or the master being usable. That would have been 95% of the contract. The supervising contractor stated that he would not have the shower glass installed until they were paid. I sent his boss a copy of the Florida legal requirements for being substantially complete and usable, and I also hired an attorney. When it came time for the final walkthrough and final payment, they didn't want to provide us with the Affidavit of Contractor's Final Payment, which shows if there are any subcontractors who have released their lien and those that haven't been paid and how much they are owed prior to receiving the final payment, even though we had the right to have it according to our attorney. Then, when we received the document, it was a "waiver and release of lien upon progress payment."
