Update: Nino personally called me to address my concerns. Although my initial review was negative, the level of service and commitment by Nino once again proves that he really cares about his work. Dont be afraid to take your car to Umbra for your tint service. Thanks again Nino! Brought my less than two weeks old 2023 Integra to get it tinted. The tint installation turned out ok but whoever performed the tint left numerous scratches on both rear taillights. Maybe the guy that performed the work was wearing a huge cowboy buckle belt or something. Nino would never do this so I know it was one of his employees that did the work. Needless to say, I am very disappointed with the quality of work and the level of service from Umbra. I've had numerous cars done by Nino for more than 10 years but I will be taking my car else where from now on.

Recently had the team at Umbra do a full front PPF job on my brand new Tesla Model 3 and they crushed it. The crew over there are like surgeons, such outstanding attention to detail and professionalism, I was so impressed with the execution. They spent so much time meticulously washing the car in preparation to make sure there were no contaminants on the paint, all to ensure the best adhesion of the film. They cut no corners, they took the emblem off as well as the side cameras to obtain a seamless tucked in installation, and it legit looks like there's nothing on the car at all. The team here really lives up to its stellar reputation, I couldn't recommend more!

Searching for Auto window tinting will produces hundreds of results in your area. I am extremely satisfied in choosing Umbra. They did a great job in my tints and sunstripe on my silverado. I had concerns on how low the suntripe would come on the windshield but they were very responsive to my questions and showed me before the job was done. Did a lot of research in getting my 2013 Audi A5 windows tinted. Found a number of cheaper places but in terms of great reviews....professionalism...and customer service it got me to Umbra Chicago. When first calling to set up the appointment I realized how great this Company was they were booked up till mid June....note I was calling at the end of April at the time. The owner Niño said he could work with me and came in 2 hours early before his store opened to squeeze me in. He explained the tint laws in Illinois and the various products I could choose from. He was very knowledgable and professional. Even allowed me to watch him do the work. The whole process took only 2 hours and there is a waiting room where you can watch tv while you wait. There is a lifetime warranty so if anything happens you can bring it back and they will honor their work. If you want great work and quality product got to Umbra and see Niño!!! Nino and his team are amazing! I bought a new car on a Thursday and was scheduled to take a long drive business trip on the following Tuesday. I wanted to protect my paint from chips from road debris so Nino got me in Friday to tint my windows and clear wrap my car. I picked it up Monday and I couldn't be happier. He was fast, professional and very courteous. I live in the city and it was worth the drive to Schaumburg to ensure a quality job on my car. read more

I have personally recommended 2 of my friend's cars here for tint+clear bra after seeing the work they did on my wife's X5 (prior to the move west). There was a bit of snafu on my friend's Audi S5 (Bang+Olufsen amplifier was accidentally fried during install), but Nino took care of the issue promptly. Top notch place! read more

They first did my 2013 Honda Accord Sport a couple of years ago and couldn't have been happier with the results. I just picked up my Santa Fe Sport 2.0 from them and the quality is just as good. This time I also asked them to install a remote starter. Great service and nice people. You do have to wait an average of 1 to 2 weeks for an appointment, but that's what you get for good quality work. I would highly recommend this business. read more

Wanted my Q3 tinted quickly after purchasing on 12/20. Found Umbra Tinting and Nino's rave reviews online so I called for more info. He was quite busy with back to back appointments. Nino said he will call me if anything opens up in between appointments or even after all was done for the day. I didn't expect much considering his schedule, but he came through and had me come in late in the afternoon! He was able to get it done quickly and it was a job well done! I had 50% Pinnacle applied to the front two windows of my Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk and it turned out fantastic. The price was good, and it only took about an hour or so. Nino's the man. I took my A3 today to get tinted. Audi's require a little more work to get the tint tucked right, and since I'm protective with the car, he went out of his way and had me join him while he tinted the first window. He walked me through everything he needed to do to make sure it looked perfect. And it did. It was also a plus that he never tried to up sell me once. He let me make the decision on everything and that always makes a shopping experience awesome. I drove from the south loop(45 mins) to get it done and now I'll never go anywhere else - every car I get will go straight here. Keep up the good work Nino. You're the man. read more

Long over do, but 2 years later and my vehicle still looks amazing. Nino has tinted all 3 of our vehicles since we've been out here and I wouldn't recommend anybody else for the job. I must say it was worth the extra $$ to go with the ceramic film because the cooler temp is very noticeable inside when my car when it has been out in the sun. Excellent! Nino and the others at the shop do excellent work. Nino is very helpful and genuinely appreciative of your business. They have software that cuts the tint specific to your car. I called alot of shops in Chicago and the suburbs; most aren't very pleasant to work with or never get back to you. Nino offers a lifetime warranty and a variety of tint. He also communicates well and confirmed my appointment. Highly recommended. read more

In reality, it was the complete opposite--I was the one who brought up all the issues with my car, which is the whole reason I went there in the first place! Klaudia only responded to me when I wrote my review and even complained about being exhausted, and had the nerve to complain about the review. Now she's relocated to Skokie--can't say I'm surprised. How do you give a review BEFORE a job is complete? That makes a lot of sense. Don't trust their rating on Google. HAD to pay only in cash, too. Prior to beginning a job, the customer should be consulted about what will be done and if there are any special situations with the install for my specific vehicle, as all vehicles are not the same and require different methods. I was not consulted about anything before the job. Only after the job is complete they tell me the back window was difficult and they tried four times. They claim my car is very difficult to do and usually requires the back panel be taken out. But they didn't take the panel out so they claim they did the best they could (which was terrible and uneven). By the way, they dented my speaker in the back (probably during one of the four times they tried to do a simple install). Went back to complain and the boss said there was nothing he could do and that it's a fantastic job. He had the audacity to tell me he'll do my other car that I left there for a few days after picking up my tinted car, and he tells me he'll give me a good price on that other car as well, after I just got done complaining about how I was unsatisfied with the job. That should tell you everything right there about his motives: money, and that's it. Went back to complain a second time and they were very unprofessional and refused to give any kind of refund. A worker managed to tell me he doesn't know what I do for a living but I can't afford a good tint job and have no real money cause I'm asking for a refund. Boss never responds to my calls or texts. Unprofessional, money-hungry hustle. Not a real business. Avoid at all costs. Pay a little extra and get the job PROFESSIONALLY done, trust me.

She was pleasant at first then called me back and told me her worker said he was told by the gentleman here that they did not have to worry about there mess he would take care of it, he didn't want them on his property... 1st off there was no man here ( no one was home at all...) 2nd one of the guys was already on the property picking up the big pieces of trash they let go. She said well he did run his magnet over your driveway, There's NO possible way he did with all the nails that were left and we also have 3 cameras that face our driveway 1 points straight down it one across it and the other the front and the only time it picked anyone up was when he was here picking up the big mess! She did tell me they would be here the next morning between 7-8 am I am still waiting for them but when I called her to ask if there was an eta she blew up on me, was Cussing me out and Hung up on me, Again this was all caught on camera, when I told her I am leaving a review. I have been NOTHING but nice and understanding of them... THIS IS NOT EVEN A COMPANY THAT WAS DOING ANY WORK FOR US BUT A NEIGHBOR!!

I only spoke with Klaudia (the owner), who mentioned she was renting a space inside Pearl Auto Spa at 3049 W. Irving Park. Here's the kicker: Tim claimed, "When we first spoke, I pointed out specific scratches, paint chips, rust, and damaged body panels that would require bodywork, and you acknowledged that." In reality, it was the complete opposite--I was the one who brought up all the issues with my car, which is the whole reason I went there in the first place! Klaudia only responded to me when I wrote my review and even complained about being exhausted, and had the nerve to complain about the review. Now she's relocated to Skokie--can't say I'm surprised. We had two condo units in our building update windows as well as two back hallway windows, and Jacob provided a highly competitive quote. He was kind and patient when we waited for other unit owners in the building to decide, and did not push us to move quicker or make a decision when we were not yet ready. Ordering windows took a few weeks and teams on install day moved swiftly and kept the area clean after! I also want to note that we live on the 3rd floor of a condo building and many contractors said they could not install and/or needed additional materials, external infrastructure and costs to do the project, but Jacob made it seamless with bringing windows up the stairs, and doing an internal install, which incurred no extra install costs. This was also great as it did not impact our neighbors and kept the project contained and clean. Jacob really cares about being transparent and has earned our trust, and I would 100% recommend him and his team to anyone looking to install new windows in their home. What an outstanding experience I had at Umbra. I got tints done all the way around on my 15' Subaru STi and I could not be happier that I chose Umbra. UMBRA did an excellent job installing ceramic tints on my truck, this is the second vehicle that I had tinted by UMBRA. Nino, took the time to explain the differences between the tint materials available and helped me make a decision on which material and percentage would look and perform the best. Amazing tint shop! Got my subaru sti windows tinted here and they did a stellar job. It only took about 2 hours and it came out perfect. They use formula one tint which is one of the best and a lifetime warranty. Better yet, I decided to do some interior work the following day and managed to put a 4 inch scratch in the fresh new tint. I called the shop up, they told me to bring the car back in and and they fixed the tint at no extra charge. I even tried to give Neil and $20 tip and he wouldn't take it. I brought my Tesla Y to Nino twice now. He did my wrap and ceramic on the paint initially. It was solid work. Went back for window tinting as the glass roof and windshield invites tons of heat. I am happy to say that he did not disappoint, once again. I am now fully tinted (all glass, including roof), wrapped, and ceramic coated. If this guy expanded services to paint and body work, I would have a one stop shop. Nino, please... Get into the detailing and body/paint business! read more

I had my windows tinted their a few weeks ago and I am so let down. This is the third car I have had tinted at Umbra and something has changed! The customer service has changed and the quality of product and installation. Nino has a lot of work to do. I want to continue coming here but you guys have got to get it together. Professional, straight foward, quick, and great work. I called monday and scheduled an appointment for wednesday. Tinting was finished in under two hours when i went in wednesday. Prices range about $280-$380 depending on the vehicle and type of tint used. Umbra provides a variety of tinting %s (5%, 15%, 35%, 40%, and 50%). Ive had about 4 cars ive owned tinted by Nino. He uses only the highest quality films and always tints his cars personally! He takes time and care to do it right the first time. And If any problems should occur he gives a lifetime warrenty with his work so you just call him and he will fix anything. Hes basically the man.
