My nails looked really bulky, and this manicure didn't last as long as others that I've had because it started peeling due to that bulk and how many layers there are. Unfortunately, my experience with my nail technician was frustrating. I requested short, square nails, but before I agreed to any changes, she began shaping my two thumbnails into an oval shape. When I explained that I preferred short, square nails, she told me it would require gel extensions, which would cost more and take additional time. I tried to understand why that was necessary, but she then told me her English was limited, making it difficult to communicate. Rather than continue going back and forth, I reluctantly allowed her to proceed with a nail shape that I did not want. I had also planned to get a pedicure, but after this experience, I no longer felt comfortable or confident moving forward with another service, so I decided not to. While the salon itself is beautiful and the staff is courteous, the lack of clear communication and the fact that my requested nail shape was disregarded left me disappointed. Because of this experience, I will not be returning. I believe clients should feel heard and leave with the service they requested, especially when it comes to something as personal as their nails.

My nails ended up costing $210 in cash (they only take cash here). While I was content with the outcome, it was not close to the original design I sent. I felt that there could have been better communication up front about the extra charges. I would prefer to be informed before they start working on my nails instead of during, where there's no option to back out. It has been 3 weeks, I noticed the colors have faded, and the top coat on a few nails peeled at the edge. Other than that, no broken nails or anything major. In my opinion the experience at Art Up is not worth the high cost.
