Unataza has been a favorite coffee shop of mine for several years until I moved further away and don't visit as often; however one thing that hasn't changed is delish food, drinks, and kind staff! I've been visiting since before they moved across the street and am so happy for them to have more space! Which, is quite beautifully designed, love the aesthetic here. I tried a Baleada this time and whoa! Yum yum yum, I'm still learning to like guac so I was a bit intimidated by the big scoop but it was some of the best I've ever had! I tried the horchata and espresso; I usually loooove horchata but maybe the espresso wasn't a great choice for me. Next time I'll try just the horchata. Wow- this was delicious coffee. I tried the dulce de canela, which is espresso with a homemade brown sugar and cinnamon syrup. It was one of the most delicious coffees that I've ever had. I will definitely be back soon for another one or to try something different on their menu. read more

Stop by for a treat or sit in the colorful, light-filled space for a while... the owners and staff are so friendly, the global connections are unique and inspiring, and the drinks are delicious... the Cinco de Matcha is one of my favorite drinks ever. I really, really liked this place. I was in town for work and happened to find Unataza on Yelp. A good friend of mine had left them a glowing review so I was sold rather quickly. I arrived around 9am and I was cheerfully greeted by the super friendly staff. I got settled in and when my coworker arrived, we went straight to the counter to grab some coffee and breakfast. They have a rather nice menu consisting of breakfast and lunch items like soup, salad, breakfast tacos, pastries, and more. After looking things over I settled on a lavender latte and their avocado toast, which was a recommendation from the barista. It didn't take long for my order to be up and they brought it straight to my table. I love that when I'm at a coffee shop. These days you wait for your name to be yelled out... not here. My latte was great but the avocado toast was the star of the show. Sourdough bread, avocado, cilantro, queso fresco, and a creamy jalapeno sauce. Not only was the portion huge, but it was down right delicious. I would order it over and over again. Great call by the staff. The space itself is vibrant with a ton of natural light and fun art. There is plenty of seating as well as outlets if you need to juice up a device. My wife and I stopped in a couple weeks ago. She got some coffee, that she thought was not bad. Unfortunately, I had a different experience. I ordered a hot chai latte with soy milk. It was extremely bland, basically no chai flavor--sweet, spicy, or otherwise. It didn't even have much soy milk flavor; it tasted very watered down. We mentioned to the barista that it wasn't very strong, and they offered to add some more chai concentrate to my drink, and even gave me an extra couple ounces of the concentrate to add as desired. I tasted it again, and it wasn't any better. I decided to sip the extra concentrate by itself, and even it was bland. Either they don't have a very good quality chai concentrate or it's simply not being prepared properly, but either way it was some of the worst tea I've had in the city, and when paying $5-6 for a cup, it was not a great experience. read more

Everything about this place is simply fantastic. The food, the drinks, the service, the employees, the dining area etc etc. I've stopped by a handful of times for drinks and Charnee's Doughnuts but today was the first time I took the time to hang around and try some of the food. I recently attended a Yelp event and went here to pick up my goodie bag, but while I was there I couldn't resist ordering items not part of the event. I tried the ham and cheese croissant (they even asked me if I'd like it warmed) which was absolutely delicious as well as their black coffee (which was fresh, smooth, and had nice notes of melon and hazelnut). Both items were great and I definitely recommend checking their coffee shop soon. Their shop is cute and welcoming. The server was absolutely a delight and patient with all of the questions I was asking. This has honestly been the best service I've received in a while. They are taking COVID-19 seriously and I felt safe while ordering my food and drink. I will definitely be back to try more of their drink and food items. I have visited nearly every coffee shop in NKY, there are few that I literally think about weekly wishing I lived closer to visit more often. Unataza is top of that list. Their atmosphere is warm and inviting from the decor to the employees there was never a moment I didn't feel welcome. They serve Honduran coffee that is rich and blends beautifully with their homemade syrups and flavors. They rotate flavors with the season but majority are house made and festive. Their espresso drinks I could order by the dozen and I'd still want more, they're that good. They also serve authentic Honduran food from breakfast to lunch, they're a great compliment to a sweet drink. This cute little coffee shop is worth the short drive off I-471. I came out here to pickup a kit for a Yelp event, and ended up buying so much more! Because I couldn't try everything all at once, of course I will be back to check everything off my list! I walked in and the lady at the counter, who come to find out is the owner, was so sweet and helpful. I started out ordering their pumpkin spice latte, which is made with real pumpkin and la leche. It was so creamy and flavorful, I will never be able to get one anywhere else again! My second purchase was the Chai-der, which I tasted while fresh, and the rest I reheated to perfection later. Its a great version of hot spiced cider! Next I decided one of their coffee blends looked interesting so I was offered to try a small sample of it and while I did the owner described the unique bean process of it. Yep, bag of whole bean added to my purchase. Also sitting on the counter, calling my name, were a some yummy looking goodies. I got the chocolate raspberry tart, a pistachio croissant, and a ham and cheddar croissant. Everything was so indulgent and yummy! The space itself is bright and airy. There are several really nice seating areas out front and on the side of the building. The walls are adorned with unique art, and outside there is a neat mural. During more normal times they offer coffee origin trips, which is such a cool concept! They also offer Spanish, salsa, and coffee classes.
