We were in the Walnut Hills area and decided to mosey over to Cream + Sugar for a to-go drink on an early Saturday morning. Very nice place and very efficient and friendly staff! We debated the merits of lavender syrup (nice smell, questionable in a drink -- but I do like my London Fog!). For the chai ordered, we originally wanted coconut it milk -- they quickly let us know they were out but offered several non-dairy alternatives. Tasty drinks! We parked on the street right in front, so we hopped in the car and were on our way.

Ok so stopped in for a quick coffee and was greeted with fresh croissants. So of course I had to get one. Stuffed. YES STUFFED. With chicken salad. And a solo dirty peppermint chai tea latte. Service was amazing. The art in the walls was exceptional. The whole cinemas me say yes I will come here and work remotely when necessary. And come here and chill and write poetry when not necessary.

Not bad, just not in a hurry This coffee shop falls squarely into the "perfectly fine" category for me. Nothing stood out as amazing, but nothing was terrible either. The wait was definitely on the long side, especially considering it wasn't particularly busy. That said, the staff was friendly and seemed to be doing their best, which helped soften the delay. I may have found it on an off day because other reviews are overwhelmingly positive

Conclusion -Cool environment, nice for sort term solo studying/ remote working. Also ideal for meeting up with a friend, with leaning toward Lattes as drink of choice.(Ex. Vanilla Latte). This is an easy place to grab coffee. You can pull up right outside, and get in and out relatively quick. For full Review check us out on Instagram and Tiktok. @Hunitng_Coffee

Yelp, you did it again! I was driving through town and needed some coffee and a snack before I continued on my journey to Columbus. After a quick search, I found Cream + Sugar. Several people I know personally had left glowing reviews, so I knew before I got there that I found a gem. I arrived to find a super cute coffee shop on the corner of the street. There was free parking right outside and the entrance was surrounded by beautiful potted flowers. There were giant windows that offered a glance inside and immediately after opening the door I heard two kind voices welcoming me. The walls are a vibrant blue with colorful paintings of Black women hanging above a seating area. On the other side you'll find the menu on giant chalkboards above the barista station. As someone who regularly works out of coffee shops, I felt inspired here. If I had time to hang out, I totally would have. Other patrons had the same idea, as they had their laptops open and were typing away. I ordered an iced lavender latte with almond milk and goodness was it delicious. Lavender is my favorite and I'm always excited to see it on a menu. I also got a buttered croissant, which was just what I needed to hold me over until I got to my final destination. I have no doubt that one day I'll visit this coffee shop again. It's Black-owned, clearly supports local artists, and has a food menu that I was itching to try. All things that I love.

Cream + Sugar is a total vibe. From the moment you walk in, you are grooving to the sounds of smooth, chill music and greeted by the servers and their welcoming energy. During this visit, I opted for the rosemary and goat cheese toast and an iced coffee. My son ordered the iced chai. My toast was AMAZING. The cranberry drizzle gave it the perfect balance of savory and sweet. My guy LOVED his iced Chai, stating it was one of the best he's had. Literally, my only request is that they add a couple of iced coffee options. That's all I will say because everything else was amazing, and I will both return frequently and highly suggest that everyone who reads this review hurries there (insert heart emoji)!

I found the menu at this coffee shop appealing online, and more so in person. Not sure if they're always 100% vegetarian, but they were on my visit and I ended up with a chickpea salad on toast with microgreens, a nice healthy breakfast. My chai was a sweet syrupy kind of flavor, but I'm not going to say it wasn't satisfying on a cold day. They were rather small inside, and with several patrons there for the long haul when I visited, I wouldn't count on getting seating. They do seem to serve everything in takeout containers by default, which didn't used to be standard but helps in this case.

This place is perfection. Staff are so kind and friendly, and even made an effort to get to know me when I was a local Xavier student. The pb toast is INSANE, and I love the non coffee beverages. I will be a forever customer here.

Cute corner coffee shop with delicious food and drinks (coffee and non-coffee options available). Private parking lot around the corner, simple, delicious menu, open seating area inside with great music to for coffee shop vibes. Natural light was perfectly displaying local artist's work and local events/ brochures on the table as you walk in. Only had about 15 minutes of time to sit and it was perfect for enjoying a honey pepper & goat cheese toast with my watermelon cucumber mint refresher. the toast was packed with flavor was a perfect mid-morning snack. My boyfriend got a vanilla latte - I tried it, but unfortunately didn't get to taste it much since it was so hot. I ended up burning my mouth - so just beware - it needs about 5-10 minutes to cool off with the lid off so you can enjoy the latte. Overall, cute place, chill vibes, definitely involved in the local community (love that), and great toast!

My BFF and I walked down from the VW dealership where I was having a tire changed and discovered this charming coffee shop! What a delightful place to enjoy a coffee and special breakfast toast! I had toast with goat cheese and honey and it was absolutely perfect! Flavors were incredible and the portion was "just right"! I won't hope for another car repair to come back but I will definitely stop in when I'm In this area!

This coffee shop is a total vibe. I stopped in on a Friday morning to work for a couple hours, and ended up staying almost until they closed! Outlets are easily accessible, and fantastic natural lighting continues throughout the space. There's chill music playing, and incredible local artwork mixed on display, with several blooming plants. The people working here are so kind and friendly ... and they stayed on top of everything when business picked up mid-morning. I've tried a few of their signature coffee offerings ... the Snickerdoodle is definitely my favorite. It's cinnamon-y and light, without being overpowering. The Raspberry White Chocolate Mocha was also tasty - but if you don't like things too sweet, I would check out a different offering. Since I stayed so long, I also ordered one of their toast offerings, and it was AMAZING. You can try all three in a "trio" order, but I went with the Honey Pepper + Goat Cheese. It was topped with microgreens, and was absolutely the perfect afternoon snack. This is a great spot to hang out and work for a while, and an even better to bring a friend for a cup of coffee and a snack. I'll definitely be back again soon.

We got there at around 9:10 and were first offered a seat inside but it was so loud in there the hostess couldn't hear what we were saying and vice versa, so we got a spot on the patio. Our sever was very nice, but service was VERY slow for a Sunday night. She told us they were busy the night before because of a conference and they were still in town that day, so the bar inside was busy. After ordering our drinks it took about 15 minutes to get them, and she didn't even take our food order when she came back despite us being ready. We waited, no problem. We ordered a 'Spice Bag' and it was decent but took about 25 minutes to get to us despite being potatoes and onions in a bag. For 40 minutes we waited for our food and when it came out it was terrible. I ordered the Fish and Chips and Caesar Salad to share and both were mediocre at best and inedible at worst. If you come here: DO NOT GET THE FISH AND CHIPS. They were battered nicely, but aside from that the fish didn't feel fully cooked and tasted like nothing, with a hint of dirty water. The tartar sauce seemed homemade, but didn't have any flavour. The coleslaw was boring and watery, with no flavour. Our server never checked up on us during the meal, so I never got the chance to ask for something else, so I was just stuck with the fries it came with. I know what good fish and chips should taste like and it's not that. Others ordered the curry and the wings and seemed to enjoy it, which is nice. However, 30 minutes after placing our order we were told that the kitchen "ran out of rice" and they asked us what we would like to replace it. When the curry came out, it was missing the naan but again, server never came to check on us so we didn't notice until the end of our meal. Overall, it's a cute place that feels Irish, but service is slow and food is terrible. Our server was lovely and it wasn't her fault that she was busy with tables, but management should be doing more when they know there's a conference in town to set their servers up for success.

Both were friendly & acknowledged the birthday girl in our party. Atmosphere is great. You could comfortably walk in wearing jeans or come dressed up. Neither would be over or under dressed. The menu has juuuust the right amount of options, which is great! Heather was our waitress & while she was kind, her service skills were lacking. Granted we weren't at a Michelin Star Restaurant, but we also weren't at a dive bar. There was an endless amount of awkward reaching through, over & around when refilling drinks. There were a couple of instances where she actually touched our shoulders to nudge us to the side so she could reach through. Totally not okay during service at a restaurant nicer than a dive bar. We ordered the cheese sticks starter which were so yummy! Highly recommend! A couple of us ordered the Cesar side salad & were highly disappointed. The dressing tasted like it was mayonnaise heavy & then watered down by lettuce that wasn't dried after being rinsed. Even adding tons of extra pepper didn't help. The lettuce also tasted like it has been too wet for too long. The lobster mac was ordered in the group & it was tasty but soooo greasy. So, order with caution. We had the Black N Bleu salad in the group & that was good. The Atlantic Salmon was another dinner ordered & the crust seasoning was delicious! Sadly, the salmon was a bit overdone. It does come with a lobster cream sauce, which confused me. It was only so so & I definitely skipped it entirely. The steamed broccoli was done to perfection though. Not soggy & not too crunchy. We also had the 12oz ribeye & that was great! Flavorful, cooked perfectly! I will add though, that the steak knives need an upgrade. I really wanted to love this place, but we won't return on our next trip to Newport/Cincinnati.

Normally, I find hotel food is just okay and nothing special, but Coppin's was a pleasant surprise. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess, and our equally pleasant server quickly brought menus and asked what we would like to drink. When it was my turn, I happily ordered Coppin's Old Fashioned. I was the odd man out because everyone else ordered the Spring Manhattan. Judging by how quickly everyone's drinks disappeared, I'd say they were all very tasty. I was a little unsure about mine at first, so to make sure the quality and taste were consistent, I ordered a second, and it definitely was not a mistake. I ordered the B+G biscuits (which are made by hand according to server in the hotel) and gravy with an extra egg. Others at the table chose a variety of dishes, including the CVG, Cobb Salad, Bagel and Lox, and several other selections. Based on the clean plates all around the table, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My wife ordered a sample of banana bread, and I was fortunate enough to snag a small bite, it was excellent. After we had all finished, everyone agreed that my niece had made an excellent choice for her graduation celebration brunch. As my wife and I made our way back to Louisville, we both commented that we would definitely return the next time we were in Covington.

Going back and forth on stars for this one. Me and around 30 of my coworkers came into town for a…read moretwo day workshop and they got us a room block at this hotel. I ended up being in the North Building and cracked up when I walked into my room and saw I was in one of the Lightwell Lofts (a few of us ended up in them by chance, guess they included them in our room block lol). While the room was super cool and beautiful, there was a lot to be desired. After taking a million photos of the gorgeous room, I quickly realized a major flaw - the bedroom is upstairs, the bathroom is downstairs, and the staircase between the two is a crazy narrow spiral staircase. As someone that gets up to pee in the middle of the night, having to traverse the spiral stairs was terrifying lol. One of my coworkers actually swapped with someone who had a "normal" room because he was worried about falling down the stairs. My downstairs tv wouldn't turn on. I fiddled with the remote a bit, tried rearranging the batteries, but couldn't turn it on. I used the ipad in the room to put in a maintenance request, but no one came. I figured I would just let the front desk know when I headed out to dinner that night. Hours later, the front desk calls me to see if anyone had come to fix the tv - they hadn't. The girl was very nice and apologetic, she said I sent the request in the middle of a shift change and someone had accidentally marked it as complete. So she said someone would be right up, and he did come up. Handed me a handwritten note and a $25 coupon for Coppin's which was totally unexpected and a very nice gesture. Turned out, he knew exactly what the problem was - he said the remote was broken and he was supposed to swap it out but forgot. Gave me a new remote and all was good. He also mentioned there is a second remote upstairs for that tv. After he left, I went to look for it - there was no second remote. We held our meetings in the Scheper Room, which was also beautiful. The room was absolutely freezing the first day and I'm someone that prefers it a touch colder and was uncomfortable. We had to get them to update the thermostat and then in the afternoon it was way too hot. We had food brought in from the hotel and it was all fine, nothing super memorable. There was soup at lunch but the sign didn't even say what it was - just "chef's choice." The Italian hoagies were way too big and needed to be cut in half, I couldn't even finish half of one. The salad with fruit/pecans/etc was my favorite though. They had the completely wrong password on the tables for the Wifi but thankfully we figured it out quickly that we just had to use the room password. The second day for breakfast, there was yogurt on the menu and even on the sign with all the food - but there was no yogurt. Some of my coworkers were specifically asking for yogurt so we had to request it directly because it was included and paid for. Box lunches to take to go on the second day which were fine, I had the chicken caesar salad wrap. Housekeeping didn't come to service my room until 5pm when I was in there getting ready for dinner, so I was not able to get the room serviced. Just asked them for some more coffee. My conditioner in the shower was empty but I didn't bother reporting it after the tv issue and I had my own conditioner with me, so used that. The lotion at the sink was so thick that I could not get it out of the bottle at all, I had to use q-tips to get it out (it was nice quality, just kinda useless if you can't get it out of the bottle lol). Great local offerings on the mini bar and in the fridge. My coworkers and I got a kick out of the "intimacy kits" because we were on a business trip haha. The Magic 8 ball was fun, I loved the conversation cards even though I just read a few of them to myself haha. Even with the bedroom upstairs, it was nice to have the big double closet in the bathroom hallway so I really was just in the loft to sleep and kept all my stuff downstairs. The location is great, lots of fun stuff right nearby. The courtyard is lovely. I would say this is a solid 3.5 stars but since we can't give half stars, I'll give it a 4 because the staff was overall very nice and quickly fixed any issues, just a little annoying that we had any issues at all.
