I've been in a few times for networking meetups, but this time I stopped in not too long after they celebrated their 6 year anniversary. I loved all the new additions and added menu items. They have really expanded their food options and gotten really creative with their seasonal drinks. They also offer their own coffee beans for purchase and other items. I didn't get to try it when I stopped in, but was excited to see the birthday flight on the menu. It looks like something really fun to try and share with a friend, sampling 4 different drinks from the menu (for an excellent price). Service was great, even on a day where they seemed pretty busy. They kept the line down and kept conversation with the customers so it didn't feel like a wait. Lastly, I love the expansion of the community information at the front counter. Today was my third visit to Cream and Sugar Coffee House. During my previous visits, I purchased drinks, but today I was working on my computer and hadn't bought anything yet. The employee/Owner asked if I was planning to make a purchase. I asked for a cup of water and told her I might buy something before I left. When I decided to leave, the employee followed me outside and accused me of lying, saying I couldn't come in just to use the Wi-Fi. My concern isn't that the business expects customers to make a purchase--that's their right. My concern is the way the situation was handled. Being followed outside and confronted after I was already leaving was unnecessary and unprofessional. If the owner has a policy requiring customers to make a purchase before using the Wi-Fi or staying in the café, that policy should be clearly posted so everyone knows the expectations before sitting down. Clear communication would prevent uncomfortable situations like this. Unfortunately, because of how I was treated, I won't be returning. read more

We were in the Walnut Hills area and decided to mosey over to Cream + Sugar for a to-go drink on an early Saturday morning. Very nice place and very efficient and friendly staff! We debated the merits of lavender syrup (nice smell, questionable in a drink -- but I do like my London Fog!). I had one of the most uncomfortable experiences I've ever had in a coffee shop here today. I came in around 3:00 p.m. to take a work meeting on my laptop. The meeting was starting as I walked in, so I sat down and logged on right away. About 15 minutes later, while I was clearly in the middle of my meeting, the woman behind the counter yelled across the shop asking if I was going to order something. I said yes and told her I would order as soon as my meeting ended. About 10 minutes after that, she again yelled across the shop asking if I was going to order and said they were "closing soon." She was visibly frustrated. I told her I didn't realize they were closing soon and repeated that I would order when my meeting finished. At that point I decided it was best to leave. When my meeting ended around 3:30, I packed up and headed out. The woman then followed me from behind the counter to the door and yelled in my face that this was not the type of place where I could come and "steal their internet." I calmly told her I was using my own personal hotspot. She continued to yell at me and berate me while standing directly in front of me. I have visited this shop many times, which makes this even more disappointing. Being followed and yelled at on my way out the door was aggressive, humiliating, and completely unprofessional. Yelp, you did it again! I was driving through town and needed some coffee and a snack before I continued on my journey to Columbus. After a quick search, I found Cream + Sugar. Several people I know personally had left glowing reviews, so I knew before I got there that I found a gem. I arrived to find a super cute coffee shop on the corner of the street. There was free parking right outside and the entrance was surrounded by beautiful potted flowers. There were giant windows that offered a glance inside and immediately after opening the door I heard two kind voices welcoming me. The walls are a vibrant blue with colorful paintings of Black women hanging above a seating area. On the other side you'll find the menu on giant chalkboards above the barista station. As someone who regularly works out of coffee shops, I felt inspired here. If I had time to hang out, I totally would have. Other patrons had the same idea, as they had their laptops open and were typing away. I ordered an iced lavender latte with almond milk and goodness was it delicious. Lavender is my favorite and I'm always excited to see it on a menu. I also got a buttered croissant, which was just what I needed to hold me over until I got to my final destination. During this visit, I opted for the rosemary and goat cheese toast and an iced coffee. My son ordered the iced chai. My toast was AMAZING. The cranberry drizzle gave it the perfect balance of savory and sweet. My guy LOVED his iced Chai, stating it was one of the best he's had. Literally, my only request is that they add a couple of iced coffee options. I found the menu at this coffee shop appealing online, and more so in person. Not sure if they're always 100% vegetarian, but they were on my visit and I ended up with a chickpea salad on toast with microgreens, a nice healthy breakfast. My chai was a sweet syrupy kind of flavor, but I'm not going to say it wasn't satisfying on a cold day. They were rather small inside, and with several patrons there for the long haul when I visited, I wouldn't count on getting seating. I ended up burning my mouth - so just beware - it needs about 5-10 minutes to cool off with the lid off so you can enjoy the latte. This coffee shop is a total vibe. I stopped in on a Friday morning to work for a couple hours, and ended up staying almost until they closed! Outlets are easily accessible, and fantastic natural lighting continues throughout the space. There's chill music playing, and incredible local artwork mixed on display, with several blooming plants. The people working here are so kind and friendly ... and they stayed on top of everything when business picked up mid-morning. I've tried a few of their signature coffee offerings ... the Snickerdoodle is definitely my favorite. It's cinnamon-y and light, without being overpowering. The Raspberry White Chocolate Mocha was also tasty - but if you don't like things too sweet, I would check out a different offering. Since I stayed so long, I also ordered one of their toast offerings, and it was AMAZING. You can try all three in a "trio" order, but I went with the Honey Pepper + Goat Cheese. I say this because at 8:45am the was a couple of guys on the sidewalk just 50 feet away drinking beer out of paper bags. So with that said. I would come back just not at night. Cream and sugar I love trying new restaurants and coffeehouses while traveling. This is one of the best in Cincinnati. It's comfortable, and has great coffee and cold brew. My daughter and I kept it simple today with just a small medium roast coffee and a small cold brew. Not one flavor overshadowed the other, and was extremely smooth throughout. If I could properly describe it, having this coffee was equivalent to a hug from a long ago friend. Attended the grand opening. It was exciting to see this finally open in the midst of everything. I was able to park right on the street near the location.
