This was an AWESOME coffee shop. I didn't get the chance to really sit down and talk with anyone, but it seems that they get their beans from Honduras !!! They have a beautiful outside patio you can relax in and it looks like an upstairs for more seating! They offer pastries, but their specialty is the avocado toasts!! I decided to go with their original Avocado toasts, which comes with sun-dried tomatoes, arugula, & topped with oil/spices....and wow was that delicious!! We were visiting family and stayed nearby, and were excited to have this coffee shop within walking distance. It's located in an old house, and the stairs are a bit challenging if you have a stroller or difficultly with that. I ordered one of their specialty lattes and enjoyed it. It wasn't overly sweet. I heard great things and was super excited to try Viva. It is so cozy and friendly and warm. I had an amaretti latte, one I hadn't seen anywhere else and it was DEELICIOUS. I tried this new-to-me coffee shop as part of the cincy battles month and I'll definitely be back! It is in the cutest strip of shops in O'Bryanville and the inside is clean and well decorated. There is plenty of seating upstairs (with outlets!) and my baby and I both loved the high-contrast playful black and white hand painted mural on the walls upstairs! The whole shop is in a house so the little details like wooden staircase and original fireplace are really quaint. I got a London Fog and asked to try their house blueberry pie syrup, which they indulged me... it was delicious! My mom got the white chocolate mocha and also enjoyed it. She also asked for a customization in making it half sweet and she said it turned out perfect. I really want to try their toasts, which I hear great things about, but it was late in the day so they were sold out! A great sign. What makes Viva coffee a five star establishment? From the coffee to the decor, the staff and so much more, Viva is truly Cincinnati's best place to get your caffeine fixed. I've been consuming their coffee for over a year at this point and have almost completely stopped going to other shops and roasters in the area. I've been a coffee nut for the better part of a decade and admit that Cincinnati has better specialty coffee than most cities its size. I have found a few decent bags from different roasters in the area that I use for different purposes. I used to go to one shop to get beans for espresso, another shop to get pour over, and a third shop if I wanted them to make me a latte. With Viva, those days are over. What makes their coffee so unique is the ability to please all pallets. I'm amazed at how Honduran coffee can remain delicate and floral in a light roast like their Gesha, while also producing beautiful medium and dark roasts like Sierra and La Familia. Now that Geraldo has opened up his brick and mortar shop, I am thrilled to see the quality that is in their beans has been replicated in their atmosphere and new offerings. The staff have been wonderful and the food has been delicious. They recently introduced some chocolate truffles that are the best I think I've ever had. We enjoy the avocado toast and croissant for breakfast. And yes, the drinks made in house are easily satisfactory. The coffee house itself is very cool and interesting. We loved the collage on the wall upstairs with the sloth . The bathroom decor was also really neat.
