A BBQ place smack dab in the middle of nowhere. They open at 11:30 and had a line at noon when we arrived. The ladies at the counter are so kind, sweet and friendly! They explained things to us as it was our first time there. The pulled pork and brisket was decent, loved the Blackberry BBQ sauce, baked beans and Mac & cheese was just meh....to be honest, we've had much better BBQ at a food truck we came upon not long ago. Uncle Beth's was near the Ohio caverns so we had to pay them a visit. I really lucked out because Saturday was their brisket day. They have all kinds of other options though too however. Super friendly service they had no problem telling me every sauce (I totally didn't see the sign, whoops). I ended up getting the brisket with Mac and cheese and the jalapeño corn bread pudding. The barbecue sauce I chose was recommended by the cashier it was the blackberry bbq. The jalapeño corn bread pudding was to die for, the brisket was very good as well. The only thing I wasn't a fan of shockingly was the Mac and cheese. It seemed to have an overwhelming amount of onion powder in it. Overall I am super happy we found this spot. W-O-W! This is an absolute hidden gem. The BBQ is ridiculously incredible! You gotta love when you walk in a BBQ place and you get hit hard with the smell of smoked meat! I've only dined in once, the service was okay - but I'll look the other way because they're always slammed busy. My only "complaint" would be that they're only open 3 days/week, but I'm sure that's the business model that works best for them. I love this place 7 days/week but I can always pencil them in if they're only open 3 days/week. Obviously I HIGHLY recommend this little slice of heaven!!!! So quite an adventure thru the farm fields of middle Ohio to get to this store but was it worth it? The store is a bit of a 'hole in the wall' on the corner of a state route but as you enter, you kind of get the feel for an old bbq joint. Everything is clean and tidy. They do have outdoor seating so you might be able to bring your pup with you for lunch/dinner? First off, I was a little put back that nobody seemed to know the difference between the flat and point of the brisket but ended up with a half pound of burnt ends(appeared to be the point cubed) and the brisket(flat). The burnt ends were pretty tasty for the most part. Half of them were almost perfect. Cooked properly, nice bark and juicy. Unfortunately, some of the burnt ends were a bit touch and inedible for me. The brisket was okay, a bit dry for my palate but the bark was good. My guess would be that they have carved the entire brisket at one time and let it sit in a pan until time to serve? Who knows though, I didn't feel the need to ask the folks in the back to check out their smoker and kitchen. We got no sides, or desserts, just the brisket. The desserts did look very tasty though. Would I ever go back? Probably not, but if you're in the area, drop by and support this obviously family run store. read more

We were in the area for another local attraction involving a natural geologic formation and decided we needed some food afterward. So, what app is better than Yelp for discovering those little country gems? Up pops Uncle Beth's BBQ. So we drive the few miles to get here. We pull up on this corner restaurant in the middle of rural America, and the first thing we see is the dozens of Harley's lined up out front. Already, I'm excited. I don't ride but I love bikes. Right away I feel at home in my flannel, jeans, and combat boots. We notice the line is about 20 people outside the front door to the place...they are PACKED. Now I KNOW I am at the right place. The menu is simple, in that there are a select number of items...but the big thing is, everything is made here. The sauces, the beans, the max and cheese, pulled pork, the rub for the ribs, the BBQ sauces, and the deserts. I looked at my wife and said, "If this place is as good as it smells and appears, we are going to come back again." I ordered the full rack of ribs, broccoli salad, and the slaw. I was super pumped to come here after reading the reviews. We drove about an hour from our house to get here and the bbq was pretty nominal. It's a nice drive and this place is definitely in a remote location. It was nice to see the menu on the chalk board and I was excited to see that today was brisket day. I saw a carnivore platter and knew I needed it: 1/2 rack ribs (wayyyyyy over cooked and dry), pulled pork, chicken breast (also over cooked and dry), 1/4 chicken (nicely cooked), and 6 wings. $32 - I had them add a 1/2 lb of brisket and it was also over cooked and dry - not sure what the issue was today. I also got some pretty heavy attitude when I asked if the carnivore platter came with sides. She pointed to the menu item and said it was meat only - no sides. So I guess it was my fault for asking. $55 later with some mediocre sides I don't think we will be returning. read more

I saw ads for Uncle Beth's BBQ in 2020 & despite living just 27 miles away it took us until today to try it. It is AMAZING! Good variety of selections and BBQ sauces (including the Alabama white sauce which is hard to find in Ohio). Cheddar herb biscuits were super. We shared the meat sampler and we could have fed 2 more folks! The service was friendly and amazingly generous. We will be back for the burnt ends and outdoor dining in the summertime. If you want great BBQ, Uncle Beth's is the place. I like to try different foods there, but always go back to the pulled pork. And the Bourbon sauce. The sides are very good too. Ample servings give me enough to take home for another meal every time. The ambience is relaxed and comfortable. I often go for takeaway when I have visitors. All the food was outstanding and worth many return visits. Coming from one the BBQ meccas in Central Texas, near College Station, I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent quality and taste of Uncle Beth's smoked meats. Sauces offered had a variety of taste and degree of heat. My family fell instantly in love with the Blackberry Crisp and the Lemon Lemon Cake was a hit as well. At a roadside shack in rural eastern Alabama. At a takeout-only joint run by a Thai couple in Lawton, OK. At a combo barbeque/seafood adobe eatery in Merced, CA. At a 50s-style diner a few miles up the highway from the entrance to the famous caverns in Carlsbad, NM. Just about anywhere, it seems, in Lexington, NC. Then, of course, there's Texas. The whole list can squeeze onto the back of a business card. Something's gotta come off the card, because Uncle Beth's is really great barbeque. Tender, smoky, succulent. And, fairly priced. At Uncle Beth's, it's not about the sauce. Appropriately, it's totally about the meat. You can eat it plain, or with their semi-sweet, dark red sauce. Better yet, bring your own double-special or homemade sauce. But use it sparingly, friends. Sparingly. I had the pulled pork, but from the "yummmm"s coming from the other tables, you probably wouldn't be disappointed with anything on the black wall menu. There are kid-friendly options, too. Updated: I made a trip there on a Saturday so I could try the brisket and it was delicious! They were so busy but it's worth it for this delicious food. I've eaten here several times, though today is the first time since the remodel. The place looks great and seating was a lot easier! Every time I've eaten here the food is delicious! Today I had shredded chicken with buffalo sauce, cabbage slaw and broccoli salad and is was perfect. The portions are a good size and I never leave hungry! I've tried almost all of the menu items and each one of them is easy to become a favorite! And make sure to get dessert, I always take mine to go. Today I had a slice of chocolate peanut butter cake and is was rich and fabulous! The only thing I've ever had here that didn't go on my try again list was the biscuits. The day I had them they were really dry. We went with group of 6 adults and 4 kids last Friday night . We were all looking forward to some bbq. We picked out our meals and were amazed at the price! No prices on the board, just a price 'range' of $10-15. So, how does a bill for 2 ppl go from $32 to $72. My husand I pick a meat lovers pkg that came with no sides. So, we picked 16 oz of mashed potatoes, 8 oz of collard greens, and 5 oz of cole slaw. boom - our bill is now $72. The total for the entire party was over $300. They wouldn't provide us with an itemized bill. And when we asked how much the sides were - before and after we ordered and we were told "it depends".. really - wow. The rest of our party was also amazed about the prices. The food was mediocre, at best. Our entree came with chicken, ribs, pulled pork, wings. They forgot our pulled pork for 2 of us, we had to ask. We were all disappointed with the food, probably the poorest bbq we've had. I got sick in the night.... Definitely would not recommend to anyone. Best BBQ we've had in years. The brisket is the best I've ever had. Ribs are up there as well. The unique Mac & Cheese is so close yet so so much better than regular M&C. Normally never order M&C. The smoked wings are also really good, bit the best I've had but up in the 8-9 range. Green beans and bacon also great. Great customer service.
