If you're looking for a butcher shop that both makes all of its own products in-house and always has a variety of products (of which varies from visit to visit), this is your place. They might have pork, lamb, or beef in any sort of cut (rump roast, sirloin steak, "neck slices", filets, bacon, varietal sausages and beef sticks, etc etc etc) and there's no telling what you're going to find here at any certain time. However, since students are making the product, it's usually quite inexpensive and always of good quality. Plus, all the meat is local, which always tastes better I don't care what anyone say. The bad news is that it's hard to find, the hours are extremely limited, and it's first-come-first-serve. Shop at your own risk, or just let me keep this place to myself.

I have their product list, and can call ahead if I want something in particular to insure they have it. There's always been a butcher in the back to help,if need be. Note, parking anywhere at UK is a nightmare, but I was told I can park right at the door -- and it's an easy in-and-out.

We had reservations but ended up getting there early and just had our dinner at the bar. We both had cocktails which we enjoyed along with the deviled eggs for an appetizer. The eggs were okay--a bit spicier than I would have preferred and I would probably try a different app next time I go (there will be a next time for sure!) My shrimp and grits were great but honestly the bourbon glazed wings that my fiance had were the show stoppers. Large sized wings that were smoked perfectly with the right amount of crunch topped with a sweet but not too sweet bourbon glaze. I will definitely get those next time I go. The vibes were casual and chill--the perfect place to pre-game before a game or event or the perfect place to meet friends for a drink. I'd definitely recommend!

For food, we had a mix at the table: fish, steak, and burgers. The fish was off. The texture was strange, almost like the skin had been left on even though it wasn't, and it had a fishy taste that just wasn't right. The burger, on the other hand, was very good and easily the best value of everything we tried. If I ever go back, that's probably what I'd order. The biggest disappointment was the service. Our server clearly wasn't having a good day, didn't seem interested in us, and let our drinks sit empty long enough that we had to wave him down just to get refills. It really took away from the experience. I'd give the place another shot, but if the next visit ends up feeling like this one, it'll probably fall off my list of places to go.

In less than 24 hours, received an email from Nick Critchfield offering understanding and a means of getting that gist card mailed out to me so I can put it under the tree. I appreciate that such great customer service is still a priority for some purveyors. Three cheers for a family owned business with good values and support of their customers. Thank you, Nick.

We love the southern classics at Ramsey's - the chicken and dumplings, pinto beans, and creamed corn are all reminiscent of my childhood. Ramsey's did a great job recreating my favorite summer meal - white bread, fresh tomatos and creamed corn. I love how they accommodated my crazy request, and I appreciated the value for our meal for 6 (4 adults, 2 teens). Pro tip: Ramsey's is great for larger parties, with lots of large tables.

For the small size of the store, it's packed with Missy's homemade pies, the carry out meals, spices & sauces, fresh veggies and fruit, and a huge assortment of their jams, jellies, and pickled vegetables. There are even more items I can't remember to mention. I bought the pickled okra, chow chow, pickled green tomatoes, and pickled artichoke. I can't name any as a favorite as all were so darned delicious! Can't wait to return to purchase more - I think I'll try some of the jams and maybe pick up one of Missy's Pies.

My young companions and I did end up browsing the aisles to see what products the store offers. I must admit the cleanliness of the store was definitely a positive. The aisles and shelves are very organized and things are grouped in such a manner that it makes items easier to locate. Although they did have Thai Basil in stock, it was old and of poor quality so I did not purchase it. Quite a bit of the produce was not in the best shape. I did however purchase a non-produce item. The staff member at the cash register was very kind, interacted with genuine consideration of the young children whom were with me, answering several of their questions. He then offered them both a Pocky snack free of charge for both of them, they were ecstatic! If I am in the area and have need of non-produce items, then I will return to this establishment.

The woman at the register was friendly and smiled when we walked in. The store itself was well organized and clean. As for the pricing it was definitely reasonably.

There was a great variety of items available; pastries, baked goods, meats, cheeses, milk, local beers and LOTS of vegetables. I loved how many vegetable stands there were. Pastry prices were a bit high across the board but the ones I purchased were good. There was even a small amount of local art available which I love to see at farmers markets. I assumed the market was contained to the pavilion but to my surprise I realized the market also lined portions of the streets and around the pavilion. If I lived here I would find it pretty easy to do the bulk of my protein and vegetable shopping here. I almost forgot the mention the plethora of flowers.. GORGEOUS flowers!

The fresh produce looked really good long with the baked items on several tables. There is a table that does handmade pasta that looked really good. Since I watch my carb intake sadly I past that table up they also had mini meatballs made with a mix of pork and beef. There was a variety of cheeses, wines, beer, some tee shirts, a food truck that had really interesting drinks and different flavored lemonade flavors.
