    Bread haul

This bakery is in an unassuming little strip mall that doesn't seem too busy. I've been here at least twice and both times I've had the opportunity to peruse their selection of baked goods without any crowds. They have a great selection of baked and frozen goods. On this particular trip, we got a few pastries: pineapple bun, coconut bun, an almond puff pastry, pork sung bun and their take on a Hawaiian pizza. There were some hits and misses; the pineapple and pork sung buns were good, but I'll probably pass on the almond puff pastry and Hawaiian pizza next time. From their frozen section, they have steamed char siu buns that I've bought previously. I didn't get them this time around, though wish I did because they're great! Highly recommend. Their service is great; both times I've been here the people at the register were super friendly. And on a plus side, if you spend $10 you get a free iced jasmine green tea or coffee. Go for the tea, it's so good!

Delicious & scrumptious bread! I was craving something sweet and tasty & went on Yelp, looked through my bookmarks and decided to finally try this place out ! I went on a Sunday evening about an hour before they close. It was very calm and quiet. Plenty of parking. There was no music playing as I shopped but I didn't mind it. The bread looked great and I decided to try a couple out! I even got the vanilla waffle ice cream! It came out to a total of $15.50 + I got my free drink for spending more than $10. I brought it home & wow! The flavors are amazing! Everything was delicious ! I didn't get to take a picture of the coconut raising bread but that one is my favorite and I don't even like coconut and raisins - to me that says a lot about their bread! It's a definite must try! I can't wait to go back! Maybe I'll go in the morning so I can get it fresh and order some coffee :)

Stopped by on Saturday 07/27/24 for the first time (finally and surprisingly). I've heard of this bakery before but never had the chance to check it out till now. No customers, just me and fam. Quiet and small inside. ** FYI: If you spend a minimum $10 or more, you get free tea or coffee (hot or iced. I didn't know about this until my mom saw a small sign at the cashiers, so I brought it up. Not bad! I opted for the Ice Jasmine Tea - a bit sweet. Of note, couldn't sleep last night - tea was too strong I guess. **

convenient and affordable spot near the universities!! i walked twenty minutes just to grab a few pastries so that should tell u a lot about how great the food is. immediately on entry the spot is clean and organized. everything is individually wrapped so it's really easy to just grab and go if need be. the worker was patient as i took a while to pick out what i wanted and even told me about the matcha pop ups they have and student discounts. my total came out to around $5-6 dollars with the discount for everything on the tray and another bbq pork bun i grabbed off screen. as for the taste, i was blown away. the pork sung bun was immensely flavorful and had a nice fried scallion flavor. the toasted coconut roll wasn't too sweet and was a pretty hefty portion. ham roll could've used a more meat and cheese but i'm not mad since they give u two. a great close to campus option

I visited Uncle Chuang's Bakery on Thursday, 1/25/24, around 2:30 PM. What I liked about this bakery was the huge selection of baked goods. I decided to purchase Chocolate Chip Cookies, Coffee Cookies, Crème Brûlée, Mini Tiramisu Cake, Ham Cheese Danish, and a couple of Chocolate-dipped Strawberries. The total came out to $22, which was a good price point for everything. I even received a free iced tea, since I purchased over $10. I was able to try the Chocolate Chip Cookies, Strawberries, and Ham Cheese Danish. All of them were very tasty. I gifted the rest of the baked goods to my loved ones. They found the items to be enjoyably delicious. I recommend checking this bakery out. This place does not disappoint at all.

This tiny bakery doesn't have tables and chairs inside, but they sure make good pastries, bao buns, and cakes here. Yes, the place was much smaller than I had expected. Fortunately, the variety of items available were all very decent and everything looked sweet & delicious. We had the custard tart with strawberries, garlic cheese bun, pandan colored cake, yellow cake, etc. All were legit and good in taste. Bun quality is very good. I noticed that other buns/breads were all nicely wrapped too. They have good pastries. I want to eat the larger fruit cakes, but didn't have the appetite for the night. That's a must try for future visits. Young cashier was ready to ring us up. He waited patiently as we took our time looking around. Tiramisu? Cheesecake? All are delicious. They even have ice cream sandwiches for sale. I wish the store was much bigger. Decent tiny bakery with good delicious treats. If you're looking to grab a few good pieces of delicious breads and treats, then you won't be disappointed here.

This bakery has such cute bread! I was debating between the pineapple bun turtle and the Totoro bread and I ended up getting the Totoro bread. The insides are filled with blueberries and the bottom is dipped in chocolate. I got the last one left and it was delicious. The cashier was also super friendly and there is a 10% discount for students and they also have free coffee or tea if you order more than $10 worth of bread. I love checking out this bakery whenever I'm in the area.

My eldest daughter just turned 18 recently. Yes, I have an adult child now LOL. I am grateful and blessed. I wanted to get her a b-day treat. I'm constantly looking for new bakeries to try out. On my way to drop off my daughter at Cal Poly Pomona (CPP), I saw Uncle Chuang's Bakery at the University Plaza. I said I'll be back later to check you out LOL. And so we did after I picked up my daughter from CPP. What a lovely bakery shop! Very warm and welcoming. Clean and organized. Lots of variety in pastries, cakes, and buns. I find a handful of the pastries to be different and unique... some of the pastries were quite playful IMHO. In other words, whomever created them were creating them with a fun kid-like mindset! Very cool! The kid is always within us no matter how old we are LOL. We ended up getting the fluffy cake, almond puff pastry, tiramisu cake, chocolate silk napoleon, dipped chocolate roll cake, wife cake (still wondering when the husband cake is going to show up LOL), and mango mousse cake. So far we've eaten the tiramisu and wife cakes. The tiramisu was fantastic... whipped cream was delicious... however, the cake needs to be lighter and fluffier IMHO. Wife cake was not bad... filling was perfectly sweetened. I'm looking forward to eating the other pastries/cakes that we bought. Staff was pleasant. One of the ladies behind the counter was on her first day at work. Her first day, our first visit... how wonderful is that! She did an excellent job... best of success to you! Thank you for the great service. Prices are very reasonable... perfect for college students. Atmosphere is just lovely. We'll definitely be back to try their other goodies. Btw, they offer one free drink with purchase of $10 or more... sweet! We got the iced green tea... it was okay... just a tad sweet for me. P.S. Thank you Uncle Chuang for sharing your heart-warming story on "How Uncle Chuang's Came To Be". We are so grateful to you and your daughter for bringing great tasting pastries and cakes to our local communities especially near CPP and UC Riverside. Keep up with your sweet and savory craft!

Chocolate strawberry cake, unfortunately, the berries were spoiled.

I had no idea Uncle chuang's had two locations. So I decided to buy a cake from this location for our youngest son's birthday. We got the chocolate strawberry cake 10 inch. This location is a lot smaller than the original location in Riverside. They also don't carry all the same goodies. The young ladies helping me were super friendly and welcoming. The inside is very inviting and well maintained. Cute set-up it's super clean, which is always a plus. The pastries I purchased were delicious, and the cake was beautiful. Unfortunately, after cutting into the cake, we were super disappointed. The berries were overripe and spoiled. So needless to say, it was a birthday buzzkill. I'm definitely going to the original location and not this one.

I love this place so much! It is right down the road from school and I go here every other week! I have tried almost everything but my favorite are the pigs in a blanket! The taro and cream buns are tasty too! Also spend $10 (I spend like 30 lol) and you get a free iced tea. The flavor is fantastic! The place is quaint and always very clean!!! Always kind workers and I just love it!

Lotus egg yoke, red bean moon cake, green bean puff pastry cake

Uncle chuang's moon cakes are delicious! So fresh and not too sweat. The flaky consistency and texture of puff pastry from green bean puff cake are just right. You take a bite and it just melts in your mouth. The lotus egg yoke cake are so fresh. Definitely taste the home made quality and freshness. Love them!

    Mixed berries vanilla cake

Mixed berries Vanilla Birthday cake was amazing!! Ordered night before was ready on time!! They always offer you a free beverage while you are paying! Definitely going back.

    I couldn't finish it

Ask the Community - Uncle Chuang’s Bakery

Does this bakery carry cocktail/milk buns? They're easy to find in NorCal but I can't find any bakeries in SoCal that sell them, and they're a classic Hong Kong treat!

Yes, my son love the milk buns. Call ahead in case they ran out your not wasted time driving there

    Are there vegan options here?

Not sure cause I always buy there BBQ pork buns; sons love there milk bun pastries. Best to call (909)468-1075. The employees at the cashiers can answer if they have that vegan option

Deliciously Freedom USA definitely lives up to the name because yes sir reeeee yes I did feel freed from all my worries after I took a bite of their delicious funnel cake. I got their classic strawberry glaze funnel cake (thats how I always gotta do it) and made a friend try it with me since their portions were huge. Now I understand I have to act like a lady (I was at work during my lunch break) and even though I have the appetite of a small bear going into hibernation, I did restrain myself to only eat half of the funnel cake. And lemme tell you, it looks just as good as it tastes. The crunchy texture of the fried funnel cake exterior, to the fluffy, light, and almost heavenly pile of whip cream, with the sweet tartiness flavor of the strawberry - this is another reason for me to looovvvve life. Came out lukewarm &…read moremostly milk and they used an unripe banana basically as far away from any traditional açaí as possible. Not quite what I would expect for a $10 smoothie 100% would go to Jamba Juice any other day and I hate big chains, but at least they can somewhat respect what things are. It makes me feel borderline offended for all of my family in Maui. Also, this is not the fault of the person who made my smoothie. He seemed like he was doing the best he can, but had to follow the recipe and had a manager breathing go for his back the whole time I asked about adding some passionfruit to it because we were already so far away from a standard açaí smoothie. And just to add a half scoop of passionfruit they were going to charge me another five dollars plus tax making it a $16 smoothie which is basically just açai flavored milk that's not even frozen. Also keep in mind this was ordered in late July in the middle of summer. You'd think they would try to make a cold drink for that time. It honestly makes me scared for the quality of their açai bowls. They also refused to do half scoops of ice cream additions into the smoothie as I was just wondering if they would again because this smoothie is not what was advertised. If we were in Alabama, that would probably be OK. The problem is this is California and there's a lot of people from Polynesia and Hawaii and other areas where proper açai bowls and the smoothie used for an açai bowl exists. *update* I went back and begged the manager if they could please just add some ice and blend it up considering it 100° outside and I didn't want warm açai flavored milk and she refused to help me and just called the person who made it who was on his break so it took several minutes for him to even get back and he didn't even re-blend it he just threw like five chunks of ice like barely a scoop of ice on top of it, even though they had three Pro blenders in the store and we're already using one of them for other things so it worked for sure. It felt like pulling teeth asking to have my $10 smoothie re-blended with ice.

It was so phenomenal that we ended up coming back twice! Visit 1: I ordered their most popular item--the Thai Tea Soft Serve with honey boba (9oz). Hands down, this is the best Thai tea soft serve I have ever tasted in California. The flavor is incredibly potent, rich, and stays completely true to a perfect soft serve texture. I ate it so fast I didn't even get a photo! My boyfriend got the same thing and added Oreo crumbs, which was a huge hit. Visit 2: I decided to explore the menu and tried the "Fire Dragon"--a black milk tea topped with crème brûlée and honey boba. It was delicious, though to make the tea more rich I recommend brewing the tea a bit longer to give that black tea flavor an extra punch against the rich cream. My little brother ordered the Thai tea soft serve with boba and Oreo crumbs (16oz) and his instant verdict was: "When can we come back?"
