We came here for lunch during a recent visit to the Seattle Museum of Flight. We had a great time! The service was prompt, the food was excellent (I had the egg sandwich) and reasonably priced. We found this little gem after working up an appetite while visiting the nearby Museum of Flight. We found the staff warm and welcoming and very informative. We enjoyed the Mac and Cheese balls served with a wonderful spicy ranch sauce as an appetizer. My Meatloaf Sammie was amazing and was accompanied by great freshly cut fries. Uncle Eddie's puts a twist on traditional food. I know that some people dislike change and expect everything to be "as expected", but they add a little something extra to your every day foods. The chicken wings come with a smoky habanero salsa and a chunky bleu cheese dip. They are also full size, so when you get three wings you are getting the whole thing not just the flat or the drum! Very pleased with Uncle Eddies! We just happen to drive by the area and thought to grab a bite, and boy we were quite surprised! The food and service were spot on! A great looking bar, but can bring families too. They also have a patio area. The food was delicious, I can have the vegetable soup everyday. It had lots of fresh veggies so comforting. The other thing that stood out is the garbanzo fritters , I don't know if anyone else in the city makes these but it's a must order at Uncle Eddies. Great flavor in these fried nuggets with a smoky spicy paprika sprinkle throughout the cup. So good. I loved the Cubano sandwich with a great bread and garlic fries. They had a decent beer list to go with lunch. Now I'd like to try their evening service before heading to Left Bank across the street. A couple weeks ago, my boyfriend and I decided to pop into a local favorite for dinner, and happened to pass Uncle Eddie's. After we ate, we decided to scope out what Uncle Eddie's looked like and how safe it might be to have a drink there. I know we're in some scary times right now, and staying home IS STILL the safest decision. However, if you are going to venture anywhere, stop at this gem. There was a sign when you walked in, that says to check in at the bar. So we walked right up as there wasn't a crowd congregated anywhere, but were politely asked to just step back a little - this gave space to the bartender so she didn't have people breathing on her and putting her at risk. This also gave space to a gentleman at the other end of the bar, who I hadn't initially noticed, as he was waiting for his drink. Once it was our turn they called us over, and provided paper/disposable menus. After we had our drinks, the same gentleman walked us over to open seating areas inside, as the patio was full. This man shouldn't have to, but he was definitely keeping an eye on EVERYTHING going on to make sure that not only he and the employees were safe, but also the customers coming in. We made sure to thank him for everything he was doing because it certainly did not go unnoticed. If you're going to go anywhere for a beverage or to grab a bite, I highly suggest stopping into this establishment. I haven't gone to many other spots, but can only hope that other venues are taking all of this as serious as Uncle Eddie's has. read more

One of the newest additions to South Park Uncle Eddie's is a fun place to go. First thing is first - park behind the building. There's a lot there with plenty of parking. Street parking is hit and miss but that lot is fantastic. Uncle Eddie's is a small restaurant with nice blues and black decor, a central bar, booth seating, and outdoor seating when it is nice outside. Take advantage of any restaurant that offers outside seating. It is very nice. The booths are deep and comfortable. The decor is bright but calming. I like it. The food is great! The cheese sandwich is delicious and cheesy. Their tots are crunchy, delicious pillows of goodness. The cheese steak is wonderful. I mean, the food here is extremely good consistently. You won't be disappointed. The service is consistently great. I have always been greeted on entry. I get giant smiles and quick service. Even when I have sat outside it has been good. So why only 4 stars instead of 5? Inconsistency on drink pricing kills me. I typically drink one cocktail over and over again and I have had a $6 difference depending on how the waitress or waiter inputs my order. It has gotten to the point I don't order cocktails anymore - I stick to cider because it is always consistent. And since I don't like to pick - or bring in receipts - I just pay. But I note it and then simply avoid drinking the same in the future. read more

Super cool new spot smack in the center of South Park has great food, excellent ingredients, everything seems hand made. Folks treat you real nice and with just the right amount of attention. Great scenes to be seen from the many windows looking out on downtown South Park's main intersection. Full bar! Last time I had the pot pies, an excellent affordable small bite. Hand made! This time it's the chop chop salad, which so far is totally delish. The vinagrette is just right, not to sweet, not too vinegary. Lots of lovely julienned salami, mozza balls, garbanzos and a superb piece of toasted focaccia. The bomb! I love this place. uncle eddie's is probably aptly named because my first experience there made me feel like family. our server was very warm and friendly, careful to offer details since this was our first visit, and constantly checking in to make sure we liked the food and that we had everything we needed. the greyhound i ordered from the bar was nicely garnished and the perfect amount of alcohol. the plates of food coming to the table were almost spilling over with food. quantities/portions were quite generous and to go boxes seemed common. the food itself was tasty! i got tater tots as my side order and we also had french fries, so we could taste both. the server brought us traditional ranch dressing and a smokey alternative, which i liked better. the vibe inside uncle eddie's is very local and very friendly. although i'm not from the south park neighborhood, i felt like i could show up anytime and i'd experience the same level of courtesy and friendliness from the staff. i will definitely return. its clear the owners have spent a lot of time and energy putting together a space that will be successful from the start. two months of consistent business translates into a place that both feels good to be in and functions well as a neighborhood food and beverage hangout. from what i can tell, uncle eddie's is a winner on all counts. read more

I tend to give the "can't use your hands" sandwiches (SINO sandwiches in name only) a D, as hand food should be abke to be handled. But at least this first go, I blame myself for some mishandling. Does not make a bit of difference on flavor, which was fine. The Apple Hand pies, no problem handling but there is cinnamon dust. Decent beer selection w/ 12 taps. I found at least three pennies in the bar top w/ parts sliced off. Enough monitors for viewing, close to the ceiling, keeping them from being a distraction. This is our favorite place in the neighborhood (Sorry to all the other places, we love you too). The food is always delicious and the staff are fantastic. I love always seeing the owners when we are there. Very family friendly and focused on supporting the neighborhood. Lots of regulars too. We love that their outdoor patio area in the summer is dog friendly and that everyone always remembers Bagel. When its cold/rainy out we love to grab a spot at the bar. TV's are small but we have had a good time watching sports here (Shout out to the owners for opening early during the Women's World Cup!). The biscuits at brunch are delicious and my favorite dish is the Seattle Cheesesteak (add mama's lil peppers!). Thanks for being such a wonderful welcoming place in the neighborhood! read more

This might be one of my new favorites. We started with the totchos which was interesting with the corn and black beans and cream sauce has a little kick to it, like southwest style. Have to say I'm a fan though. We got the Seattle cheese steak and breakfast sammie. YES to both! Honestly a Just FYI, the bill adds up quickly. Even with happy hour, which is $1 off drafts and snack, the drinks were over $10, which is a lot for drafts. For the two of us our billl was $65 so after tip we spent close about $80. Ouch. There's nothing better than eating local food and supporting local businesses. I really enjoyed eating here the people were extremely nice. I went with my gf and our cups were always at the top while we ate over there. The fried mac and cheese balls only came with 4 which was kind of disappointing because they charge $8.5 for them but I will probably go back and by more pretty soon because they were that good. I picked this this pub 'cuz I was hankering for a hamburger, only to find there isn't one on the menu. What?! Begrudgingly I ordered the meatloaf sandwich -- close enough, I thought. My sammie arrived, simple enough: a thick slice of meatloaf on a soft hoagie roll, sided by French fries. Looks a little like a burger ... so far, so good. I cut it in half and took a bite. Ho -My-Gawd! Step aside hamburger, this meatloaf sandwich kicks your butt! Moist and tasty, topped with grilled onions and a horseradish mayo, and some ketchup-y condiment that made my mouth do a happy dance! We've ordered from Eddie's twice now through GrubHub, and GH doesn't properly display their full menu, so we called and worked it out...both times! Flawlessly! The chicken verde sandwich is not on the the GH menu, at the time of this post, and is FANTASTIC! The Cuban is very good, even though it's on super fresh sliced, grilled sourdough versus a more traditional Cuban roll. We forgot to order extra pickles, and they are so good, they sell the pickles separately! (Which we surprisingly haven't tried YET!) Oh, and if your wondering about the soup of the day...just order it! Tonight, ours was a beer cheese soup and it was awesome! I was dipping the tatchos in it! Delicious! Met up with a friend for lunch and had a very good experience at this new place in South Park. We both had sandwiches which were outstanding in flavor and size. The green salad was big and seasoned nicely. My only complaint is that the prices are high. They are in the $13-15 range. I could have had half a wich and half the salad and been satisfied, so I guess you get your money's worth. I can't comment on the bar except to say they have tables big enough for four but don't appear ready to accommodate that after work party of 12. read more

Two stars for the bar. Very clean, even the bathrooms, friendly staff, open airy environment. The low rating is for the food. I had an egg sandwich and I am still burping up garlic 4 hours after eating it. Who puts garlic on a simple egg sandwich? For that matter, why was there arugula on my egg sandwich? The bacon was swimming in oil. The tater tots were little crunchy grease bombs. I asked for eggs over hard, i got semi-soft yolks that I cannot eat. My husband got the biscuits with gravy and he couldn't finish them as they made a sage gravy which is not to his taste. He will overeat on a good plate of biscuits and gravy but not today. He prefers the southern style of just roux gravy and sausage. Made well, the only seasoning needed is a good amount of pepper and salt. That's it. His home fried potatoes had a murky, almost cumin smell to them that was not appetizing at all. The secret to good food is to keep it simple. Good food doesn't need fancy spices all the time to be good. Especially breakfast. We won't be back. read more

Love that Uncle Eddie's is so kid friendly! It's not lip service! "All ages welcome." Vibe/decor is awesome (note all the Eddie's supervising your bathroom trip... lol) Service was outstanding. Food was above average and staff asked about any areas of improvement/recommendations, just in case. The pricing was the most surprising part- we got out of there with a super reasonable tab, especially for Seattle! Totchos and the mini hand pies were the best options on the table and the tots are clearly a house standout. Salads were solid (and huge!) and the BLT on special was a hit with the meat eaters at the table. Outdoor seating available and a super awesome bar area. Coming back for sure! read more

YAS, Uncle Eddie, yaaasssss. I randomly had this pop up on a Yelp search a few months ago when looking for a place for dinner, but ended up going somewhere else. Being a GRILLED CHEESE LOVER, they had tasty looking one on the menu, so I bookmarked it for later! South Park is not a neighborhood I frequent (actually, have never been there before!), so it took me a bit to come here. Finally, a Friday night with nothing to do.... I grabbed my friend and said we are GOING. We arrived, and there was a couple of bar stools by the window next to a couple on an awkward first date - SCORE! We ordered a couple of drinks, and then the waitress asked if we would like the booth that was about to open up. We decided yes, and were shortly moved over there. I wish I caught our waitress's name, as she was fantastic! I ordered the grilled cheese - on garlic toasted bread with some smoky delicious cheese inside, and a side of garlic fries with rosemary aioli. This is literally my dream meal if you know me, so I was excited. My friend ordered the pulled pork cubano with tots, and the pickled eggs to start. There was another table that ordered a salad with dressing on the side that was brought out with it already on, so the waitress came by to ask if we wanted it, since it would be thrown out. She must have sensed our ability to stuff our faces. The sandwiches finally came out, and we were in heaven. The bread was SO good. The cheese, so perfectly melted. So crispy. YAS.
