This one is for the carwash geek! Foam guns, pre-soak sprays, foam brushes, pressure washers, car mat hangers, tire cleaners, air slammers, vacuums.. its got all the toys to remove every kind of dirt off your 4 wheeled darling. There are also tools for polishing and waxing which I didn't pay lot of attention to this time. I like cleaning my car myself, its a quality bonding opportunity for us. Thanks to this place, I can now do this. Do you need this place if you are a sane person not caring to bond with inanimate things? Yes, because this is also the best way to wash a car over the lazy automatic washes and the hardworking manual washer that sometimes leaves the aroma of his hardwork behind. Also this is the only way I know of to get clean car mats without spending $15-$20. It costs about $3 here to get 3 minutes of time with all those cool tools. I had to spend some time educating myself with the options and how it all worked. I wish the instructions were better. Be prepared for your shoes to get wet and some sprinkles here and there. Business suit or cocktail dresses not recommended. The credit card machine didn't work (but I was kindly helped with the issue). I am going to carry cash here next time just in case. I know, this may be the least exciting type of business to review in the world, but sometimes you gotta wash your car, you know? This is one of those DIY coin-op places with the big concrete stalls where you drive your car in, feed quarters to the machine, and walk around and around your car wielding the swiveling foaming brush suspended from the ceiling. It has all the usual soap/foam/wax/high-pressure-rinse settings you'd need and the equipment seems well maintained and in good working order. Unlike many of these places where the machine only runs on quarters or dollar bills and you have to remember to bring enough with you, the machines here accept credit cards, which is convenient. It does seem like it charges more than other coin-op car washes - probably about $10 to wash an average car. Outside there's a row of vacuums that I believe are coin-op only (no credit cards), although they're strong enough that fifty cents should give you enough time to clean out your filthy floorboards and mats. There's usually no wait and the place feels clean and safe, so overall it's pretty much exactly what you need it to be. read more

It seems like half the equipment was out of service and since the car wash isn't manned I had no one to fix this issue. Called their number and left a message and never got called back. I bring both of my cars here at least 2-3 times a month as it's close to my house and I enjoy manually washing my cars. 90% of time, I have absolutely no gripes about the payment services and love contributing to local businesses. This past weekend, I got charged for $15 when I know I pushed the stop button at $5! I've read some reviews here that mention that there will be a refund (or a correction to the correct $5 - as I read the meter when I hit the red button) but haven't received it yet. This review will go from 2 to 5 stars in no time once this "fix" takes place. They fixed it to $5, I love this place. read more

RIP SeaSuds kinda pricey compared to spots down in south seattle ($3 for 3 minutes instead of $1.75), but it's a lot of fun and open late. went here on a whim because my car was so dirty i couldn't stand it anymore. i like washing my own car, but it's not something i do at home. automatic car washes seem dirty and like i'm just washing my car with other car's dirt. i wish the instructions were clearer, but once you get a hang of adjusting the dial, it's pretty simple to use. i bought tokens instead of doing the credit card deal, and will probably continue to do that. the foam in the foam brush smelled like bubblegum which was pretty tight. didn't get a chance to use the detailing station cause the inside of my poor little car needs to be cleaned out very badly. all in all, i spent $8 washing my car, and had leftover tokens, so i bought a cute air freshener in the vending machine. read more

Wash your car in Seattle for 15 bucks?! Whatttt a concept. For real though. Coming from southern CA, I used to get my car washed at 11 bucks a pop. So... my car was pretty sparkly, always. Then came Seattle-living. Where a car wash is 40 bucks for your most basic wash. I'm pretty sure in the 3 years I've lived here, I've washed it 6 times total. nasty. I come to Sea Suds to wash my car by hand. So I can save 25 bucks and get some exercise in. 10 bucks to thoroughly wash it, even with a minute trying the "air shammie" gun (don't. just don't). Then an additional 5 bucks to drive out and vacuum my car, throw out all my road-trip remnants and get the heck outta there. Oh, I just remembered one of the Sea Suds coins just fell out of a pocket of a jacket I washed today. So, make that a 14 buck car wash. read more

You can pressure wash your car's exterior here, and it took years of dirt off my car. It's a pretty typical self-wash place, which I love. You have to bring a lot of quarters, otherwise they make you exchange dollars for "tokens," which seemed kind of gimmicky, but it worked great for me, so I care not. Be prepared to get wet, the mist from the pressure wash soaked me after about 15 minutes. read more

Dishonest setup. I've gone to BB for years and it's been great. I went here, you put in your car, they charge you some exhorbitant maximum amount unless you hit a stop button. Basically, welcome to the negative billing of the car wash world. Contrast that with grown bear where you don't have that problem. You pre-order your time. No change for overpaying. Since we have construction going on, our car gets dirty really fast, this place is close by, and easy to use. Their customer service answered my concern regarding the pre authorized amount of $25, but the actual charge is only $5. This is my go to place! The $7 automatic "friction" wash looked like absolutely NO SOAP was dispensed! There were no suds. I hope it was just broken because it just smeared the dirt around. My car was still filthy. This would've been a 1 star review. But when I asked the attendant for another wash, he was so embarrassed and kind (also frustrated), that he scrubbed my little Civic in one of the self-serve bays VIGOROUSLY for probably 15 minutes. I tried to stop him a couple times (like "that's good enough"), but he just kept scrubbing and my car was spotless. To the owner: Your automatic car wash is completely unacceptable (if not broken) and the attendant working the morning of Jan. 20th deserves a raise. I have been a costomer here for sence before Uncle Ike bought this little car wash and I have found the following things... 1) NO TOUCH AUTOMATIC CAR WASH .. if you are super paranoid about your paint getting swirls in it and your car isn't that dirty, this is an ok option. However if your like me and like to wait untill it stops raining and usually have the normal amount of Seattle gutter sludge on your lower half of your car as well as your rims this is not the right wash for you. It is what it says it is, a "no touch" (non scrubbing ) drive through wash. Personally its not my thing, because even though I can be a little on the paranoid side when it comes to my car I still find this wash to be lacking. Maybe if it had more water pressure or took more time and actualy did something (& I mean ANYTHING at all) to clean the rims and didn't leave dirt in all of the nooks & crannies on the rest of the car I might feel differently. 2) REGULAR AUTOMATIC CAR WASH: This wash is an improvement over the no touch wash in my opinion for cleaning the body of the car. However it falls strait down on it's face when it comes to the wheels. Also when compared to orher washes like the wash that uses a big Brown bear as a mascot, it fails for the following reasons.. 1) if you drive a SUV (like 50% + of seattlelites ), or hatch back, wagon or anything else that isn't a sedan it has a really hard time cleaning the back of the car, and unlike many other comercial washes that have people standing at the entrance of the wash ready to give a quick clean to those pesky areas, Unkle Ike's wash does not. Uncle Ike's also neglects the wheels of any vehicle you bring (I have tried this wash on several types of cars, SUV, sedan (×3) & a jeep, with really big wheels). Ok and for the third and final thing, the cost is the same as most other full service commercial washes. So if you have a sedan and you don't care about your wheels getting clean then this wash is ok. 3) WASH BAYS: unfortunately I have never tried any of Uncle Ike's do it your self wash bays .. Sorry! 4) VACCUMES: for me there are good and bad with thier vaccumes. Good: They seem to be well maintained. They also really really suck (in a good way). The suction is honestly the best I have ever had in any car wash in Seattle... And for the down side... The vaccumes are 2 dollars for 3 minutes. That means that they are twice the price and about half the time of any other vaccume in any other car wash in the city (or out of the city for that matter). In my opinion, I don't mind if it was one or the other because they are really great Vaccumes and you know how it is, you don't get something for nothing!! 5) VENDING MACHINES: Thier vending machines are well stocked with all the regular car wash things... towels, cleaners, air fresheners , and polishes.. And everything is $2.. even the cheep paper towels (that are usually like ( 75 cents). But the cleaners that can be as much as $3 are still $2... 6) CHANGE MACHINE: They do have change machines , which also take credit cards and cash, which is great, but they don't give quarters. They only give tokens, which they don't buy back if you get to many.booo!!! On the up side the Wash is relatively well maintained ,(with the exeption of the occasional overfilling garbage can). I've used the drive through and self service car washes, both with okay results. The self service definitely gives you the freedom to do a better job, but it comes at a cost with the per minute pricing that seem excessive for the quality of the equipment. Would recommend using a car washing service if you want your car to actually be clean. If you're just looking for a good rinse this place will do! read more

Not a bad car wash and vacuum - seems very efficient and easy to pay. I was nervous if I'd be able to pay with card as some only expect change, but this was great and worked very smoothly. The vacuum had great section, which helped getting me dogs hair out of the seats. $3 allowed me to vacuum my whole car. read more

I took my sports car here... This has got to be the absolute BEST car wash I've ever taken my car to. Spend that extra money and dry your car off with a freaking AIR GUN. I'm so serious you guys, I have never seen that before and it kept my car SUPER DUPER clean when you use it after the triple conditioner! I used the 2nd stall from the self-car wash. I LOVE THIS PLACE. DEFINITELY WORTH THE MONEY! I spent about 6-8 minutes there and I think I spent $10-15. Can't remember... Stupid experience. Most self washes will give you a reminder beep when you're on the last minute so you can add more time if you need it. You know..... Because you're too busy rushing around trying to suds and wash that bad boy up right!! This place does NOT give you that courtesty and thus I left the establishment with a waxy half suds sad vehicle. Very disappointed with how I was treated. The drive through car wash stopped working after my car was soaped up. I pulled out to talk to an attendant and was accused repeatedly of moving my car and told they "have cameras" and would know if I was lying. Maybe my car moved but I don't think it did. All I wanted was my car to be rinsed off of the soap. I'd paid my $14 and was treated like I was trying to rip them off. Horrible customer service and I won't be returning. read more

EDIT: Wow, I just had one of the better customer service experiences of my life! I had a great experience at the facility (I was there a few days ago), but had a question about the charge on my card. As it turns out, they put a $25 hold on every card used that is taken away within one full business day. Not knowing that, I tried calling the company and had some weird hiccups (see old review if you're curious) trying to get ahold of them. I posted here later that day and Ian (from Uncle Ike's) IMMEDIATELY reached out to me. He was kind and patient and helped me figure out what was going on both with the charge and with the phone line. Because I was having trouble getting through, he even offered his personal cell phone number to try to get in contact. He was clearly invested in making sure everything was resolved. I feel really happy and satisfied with this experience. Thank you so much, Ian, for taking the extra time to take care of your customers! This place is the worst. I went here before work this morning. The Brushes started before my car was even rinsed. Horrible for the paint. Then the dryer barely dried it at all. But the worst is when I got to my office and noticed that my car was still covered in soap!!! So I had to drive back down there and pay another $5 to use the hand sprayer. Unreal. Updating my review as I received an immediate response back to my original post (was quite impressed with the response time). They did mention that the soft touch wash did a better job cleaning the car without damaging the paint. They were more than generous in providing vouchers for my next visit. Overall, it didn't seem to work very well and my car looked like it almost hadn't been washed at all. Came in with high hopes but left disappointed. The car wash attendant was friendly and answered my questions. He also helped me wash my filthy tires clean. He was so helpful! I believe his name was Amed or Amon or something along those lines. Edit - after leaving this the company contacted me almost immediately and got my issue resolved. Ian from Uncle Ikes called me and mentioned that they had tried to call me back after I left the message and never got through. While the attendant the day of was unprofessional, Ian was very professional and helpful and I am updating my review to reflect that. generally try to give the company I am reviewing a chance to respond after a bad experience before leaving a bad review. However, I never received any returned communication from Uncle Ike's car wash after a bad experience there. About 3 minutes in, the pressure on my hose gave out every 30 seconds or so for sometimes a minute or more (this car wash charges you by the time you spend washing). This got steadily worse as I continued to attempt a wash. After informing the attendant on duty of the problem, I was given about $4 in tokens. Unfortunately I lost around 15 minutes or more due to the faulty equipment, and after going back to the attendant he informed the that he already gave me credit. Further pushing caused the attendant to walk away without speaking and hide inside an office. When he was back out again, I tried again speaking to him asking if there was someone I could call about the problem. He again left without saying anything and hid inside his office. He did not make any effort to help me nor did he make any effort to close down the faulty washing station, happily allowing future customers to lose their money fruitlessly trying to wash their cars. Update - uncle Ikea mentioned they tried to call me back. I believe a fault on the part of my carrier led to the problem below and was not a fault of the management. The token machine had a number for the place which I called. They told me to leave a message and that I would be refunded for equipment failures. They said they would get back to me within 24 hours. I left a message, and after 24 hours never received a call back. I then left two more messages which they also never responded to. I paid mostly in cash, and a little bit in card (the card reader at my station was also broken). I am now having to contact my bank to request a charge-back for the portion I paid with card. If you use this car wash, make sure you pay with card so that you're protected when the equipment fails. read more

Great auto car wash. I almost got drenched because as soon as I hit the lever it started without warning haha. Pretty quick and my car looks good. Only struggle appears that the car doesn't get dried very well.... Under 10 minutes due the Deluxe Wash. It probably cleaned it about a 7.5 out it 10. My cars cleaner than when I entered but IMO I don't think it was worth $12. I provably would've paid $6 for the quality of cleaning it did. read more

Well this car wash seems to be have everything that you need it often seems to be a hangout for people that just want to sit and talk while they're cleaning their cars. it's frustrating for those of us that just want to get in get your car cleaned and get out. people tended to sit in the car bays and chat with each other while lines of cars wait for the base to open up to wash their cars. The price is pretty decent though and there's many different options for cleaning utensils for cleaning your vehicle. read more

If you use this place and use a debit/credit card, in my opinion you will be ripped off. I was there on March 23 for about 15 minutes washing my explorer. Bill can out to be $15.50. There was nothing posted about the charges. When I got my bank statement, needless to say I was shocked. If you have the means to wash your car by hand, do so. Great self-serve car wash. I didn't use the automatic but I love that it's touch-less. All the machines take your card and minimum charge is only $5 which will get you 8 minutes. They have an "air shammy" which is awesome if you want you dry your car and the different options on the sprayer are great. Definitely recommend and will be back! read more

Otherwise, great customer service and not a bad place to get your car wash. Original: Terrible. I'm being charged 25 dollars for what was suppose to be an 8 dollar wash. This is according to the automated machine. I also tried to call the phone number given through Google but no one picks up any of the phone calls and judging by the other review on Google, this is a perpetual thing.
