I Waited & waited for this on vinyl. Uncle Joes answered on RSD! Thanks Uncle Joes Records. You made me a happy camper!

"Hey, Joe Where you gonna run to now? I'm goin' way down south Way down to Mexico way Way down where I can be free" (Jimi Hendrix) Our down-sizing and decluttering mission contines.... If you want to run over to Uncle Joe's you may doubt you have the correct address, because you won't see a strip mall or even a stand alone store. Instead you'll see a residential building in a residential neighborhood. But trust your GPS, turn into the driveway, and you'll find Uncle Joe's in the back of the building. It's part used record store and part coffee shop, so that gets Uncle Joe bonus coolness points right off the bat. They have a big selection of used vinyl LPs and a section with the old 45s too. As part of our downsizing and decluttering mission, I thought it was time to say goodbye to my hundreds of record albums. I brought 100 of them over to Uncle Joe's for an assesment. In case you have some records to sell, here's the process: drop off your records at the shop, Joe will look at them by the next morning, then someone from the store will reach out with my offer. If you accept Joe's offer, they'll pay you directly with Venmo, check or through Cash App. If you don;t like the offer, or if Joe's doesn't like your records, you just go back to Cromwell and get them back. Joe was away for a week when I dropped off my records, but Olivia took our information. A few days later, the store manager Eden called us and made an offer I accepted. I found Uncle Joe's super easy to deal with and their time line and buying price were quite reasonable.

What a gem. Part record store, part coffee shop. Stopped in on the way to Boston for RSD, had a great mixed selection, and a great sample of both used and new vinyl. Staff were super laid back and helpful. Dug around for about 30 minutes, picked up some nice finds, all priced to sell! Definitely give them a stop in.

I collect a lot of vinyl and this is one of the best places around to get near- mint-condition used…read morevinyl for great prices. I'm into a lot of 80s New Wave, so I came out with a few albums in that category (some for under $10 each), one from Springsteen that was $10, and then even a couple of classical composers for $4 each. And guess what? Not a scratch on any of them! (Here's the catch: A couple records skipped in more than one place in the same song, though I realize skips are par for the course with used records. Not that I don't trust the grades given to the records on the price tags, but there should be a way to test out the records before you pay for them.) The owner is very kind and helpful. It's a small store packed with a lot of records that are alphabetized (which helps if you're looking for something specific) in their respective categories. The place can seem a little claustrophobic and could use a clearing out of the boxes and crates of records on the floor that can make maneuvering difficult and browsing a bit uncomfortable. Yes, the owner generously cleared one area so I could have a better look at a particular genre, but he shouldn't have to do that. The boxes and crates on the floor plus the skipping on some of the albums are the only reasons I'm giving four stars instead of five. Overall, Replay offers better quality and prices than some other used vinyl shops I've visited in both New Haven and Fairfield Counties. It's worth conquering your claustrophobia, I promise, and you're bound to find something you're searching for as well as something you didn't even know existed.

Even after an 8 year excursion to NYC, I'd still prefer to go to Replay, as it's small but unpretentious. Pairs quite nicely with a trip to Glennwood for a burger and a dog.

Here's my list: 45 RPM vinyl singles 33 RPM vinyl albums Eight track tapes Cassette Tapes Compact Disks Digital Downloads As the state of musical technology changed, it left music lovers with a dilemma -what to do with our old purchases if we don't  listen to them anymore in their original format? Years ago, I pitched my cassette and Eight Track tapes (Trouble Man by Marvin Gaye and Superfly by Curtis Mayfield were personal favorites). But I have hundreds of LPs and CDs and really didn't know what to do with them. Until now. Today I sold four of my albums to the Trading Post as a test, and I was very happy with the results. I will be going back with more of my LPs and CDs. I exchanged e-mails with Elise, and then met her at the store and she couldn't have been more personable, helpful, professional, and just plain nice. Trading Post is most interested in 1960's-2000's rock,  reggae, and metal genres. They inspect your records for quality, their inventory and pricing data and give you an offer in either cash or store credit. She researched my four albums while I wandered around the store.  It's crammed with records, CDs, video games, tie dye everything, posters, shirts, blankets and smoking accessories. Elise made me a very fair offer, and that was enough for me to know I'll be back with my CDs and vinyl after the Holidays.

The Archive is a physical media retail store that opened in Bridgeport, Connecticut in June 2017…read more It was founded by friends and business partners Brandon Upson, James Neurath, Ryan Emerson and Ralph Stevens. The shop is the brick & mortar division of Vinegar Syndrome: a film restoration and distribution company that specializes in protecting and preserving genre films (mainly produced between the 1960s and 1980s). The company was founded in 2012 by Emerson and business partner Joe Rubin and named for the acidic smell of deteriorating film. It is considered a boutique Blu-ray label and to date has released well over 800 titles on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD. The Archive is dedicated to selling movies and music in a wide variety of physical media formats. Consumers will find all sorts of new and used titles available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD, VHS, Betamax, Laserdisc, Vinyl, CD, and Cassette tape. A second location opened in Aurora (CO) in October 2022 and a third (named 'Vinegar Syndrome') opened in Toronto (ON) in October 2023. I've been doing business with the Archive for a number of years now. I'm a huge fan of collecting physical media. Although streaming media seems to be the way to go now, streaming services are only as good as your internet connection, the quality is too compressed and titles are disappearing all the time. I like having an actual vinyl record or 4K disc in my hands. Physical formats are also usually loaded with all sorts of liner notes, posters and bonus features that you won't get with streaming services. I try to stop at the shop every few months or so. While I sometimes leave empty handed, other times I leave with some great finds. They often carry great film releases from labels like Arrow Video, Blue Underground, The Criterion Collection, Severin Films, Shout! Factory, and of course Vinegar Syndrome. At times, the shop will even get a limited amount of new releases weeks before they are available on Amazon. If you're a fan of physical media then you need to get to the Archive right away!
