I am beyond disappointed in the service my group received last night. We had a party of 7 and things started out great. Our waitress Marissa brought waters for everyone before everyone e arrived, and then she took drink orders right away when the whole party was there a few minutes later. Seemed like it would be a great night. She took our tables order a couple minutes later, again everything going great. Our food arrived about 15-20 minutes later and this was the last time we saw Marissa until she brought our check. Right when the food came several of us were out of water and asked if we could get more, we never got any even after asking when the check was brought. We were never asked how things were going throughout the meal, which would've been nice since the fajitas for 2 was served with only 3...... Tortillas!!! My wife and I sat there wishing we would see Marissa come from the back of the kitchen but she never did. When she came out with the check she brought boxes right away as well. My wife and I just stared at each other wishing we had went somewhere else because we barely got to eat. On top of not having a server throughout our meal, because we had a party of 7 the gratuity was automatically applied. I absolutely love leaving a good tip for great service, but Marissa was horrible and would not have gotten stiffed, but definitely did not deserve the 18% tip for taking our order, bringing some of it out, then bringing our check. You can get the same service at a drive thru and save the extra $60 tip she got for essentially doing nothing. What was even more disappointing was our fajitas were still hot, so we boxed it with the toppings and everything. Well the cheese melted and then clumped once it got a bit chilled during our car ride home, and the lettuce wilted and was soggy now. I loved coming here, but don't think it will ever happen again. Side note: get rid of your automatic tip because Marissa clearly knew she was getting it and had not a single care in the world about our table due to that. Food was alright. Just had hard tacos . The waitress said they don't have a red sauce for there enchiladas which I found strange.Waitress had issues. She dropped something every time to the table . Also odd was that two of the 3 of us cleared our plates , we were waiting for a second round of drinks and she walked by and tossed Togo boxes on our table. . I'm so torn here, because I really enjoyed myself at Julie's, but the prices made it a hard meal to swallow. I made a reservation for my birthday celebration and went in with a party of 5. We were seated in a back room with a small view of the kitchen. I saw tons of baskets of fresh avocados, peppers, lemons, and limes - nice! They REALLY need to pare down this margarita list, there were so many that our poor server didn't even know which we were referring to when we ordered. "I'll have the spicy margarita." "Oh the blended one? The one with the whole jalapeños? The one with that's shaken at the table?" Half the food menu was full of drinks and then a two sided drink menu - and none of the margaritas came in larger sizes! I wanted one really big one, but instead had to order three tiny ones for triple the price. The glasses are filled to the brim with ice and barely any drink - the Paloma had half a grapefruit in there (which is great but give me my booze!) That all said, the drinks were delicious, albeit not strong at all. A Paloma was $11, a margarita of the day rang in around $13-$14. Just crazy prices. We ordered the table-side guac, which is exactly what you'd expect it to be. If you don't want to jack it up really spicy or have specific changes you want, then just stick to the made-in-the-kitchen guac and save yourself the extra three to four bucks. For dinner I ordered the soft taco plate ($13!) with ground beef. The tortillas were humongous, giving the meal a deceivingly large look. I actually enjoyed them, the meat was tasty and the toppings were just right. The rice and beans were tasty too. My friend ordered the grilled tilapia tacos ($16!) and I got to take a taste. These were just not good - the fish was extremely fishy tasting and the entire plate was SO spicy, and this coming from a girl who likes her fire. We also ordered a LARGE queso blanco, which came in a super flat little bowl - very small for a large order. Overall the ambience is gorgeous, there is a spacious parking lot, great patio space (unfortunately it just overlooks a mall parking lot) and a ton of room inside. When we left around 6:00pm there was a mongo wait so apparently people were craving a spot like this in Brookfield. The GM was amazing, checked in several times and acknowledged my birthday in a fabulous way. Really went out of his way to make sure that we were happy and accommodated. I can absolutely see myself coming back if they ever get a happy hour or decide to sell margaritas by the pitcher, but while they're $13 for three sips, I just can't boujie up to it. read more

Uncle Julio's was a wonder experience! The place is new so it is packed. We had a 6pm reservation and walked in at 601p and our table was ready and waiting for us. Our server was super friendly and knowledge for just opening. She took our drink order and came back a bit later. We ordered the table side guacamole which was out of this world! For dinner I ordered a chicken quesadilla. A few others at our table has fajitas which they raved about! TIP- Make a reservation bc the wait can be 2 hours. Really nice decor and patio. Too bad it's in a parking lot. We were seated pretty quick even though it was busy. I'm quite sure once the newness wares off it's going to slow way down due to the prices. The cheapest margarita is $8.99. All others ranged $13-15 and up. The chips were annoyingly thin and greasy. The salsa although tasty and smoky, was watery and very difficult to eat with the paper thin chips. Some interesting items on the menu like the chocolate piñata and bacon wrapped habanero shrimp but mostly the same kinds of unauthentic Mexican fare you can get elsewhere at half the price. We were greeted and seated right away. It place is very noisy and seems quite popular. The chips are my favorite. The thin kind and the salsa was different than I'm used to. It's a brown Smokey flavor. I did like it. The menu is limited. Not like the one shown in the pictures. Many of the selections are priced for 2. I ordered the cheese and onion enchilada. The plate has two and at first I could cut it with a fork. I had to use a knife. The thin tortilla was dry or over cooked the other end of the enchilada was softer. It comes with a Spanish styled rice and a bowl of what I'd call chili beans. Much like what you get from a can. The rice seemed dry or like minute rice Spanish style. My husband had two fish tacos. They were nothing special. He said he's had better. All in all the food wasn't as good as I'd expected. Very commercial, not authentic. The server was average, pleasant and accommodating. This review earned 2 stars. One star was earned for decent staff/service. The second star was earned because the pre-meal chips were good. The actual meal was meh, just your average restaurant food. Probably won't go back, there are plenty of other places that do this food significantly better and for cheaper. Big parking lot though so if you do go here don't worry about parking. read more

Uncle Julio's is a very good "chain" Tex/mex restaurant. My favorite thing is that everything is fresh and handmade. The tortillas are very tasty and you can tell they are made on site. They are not quite as good as my mother-in-law's homemade tortillas (would be very hard to beat those) but 1000 times better than store bought. The restaurant is new and fairly noisy, but not overly so. You can still easily have a conversation with your dinner-mates. There is an awesome patio area that I think will be perfect for this spring, summer or fall. Can't wait to try it out! The spicy margarita is excellent Just enough spice and flavor. We also tried the Chocolate Lovers Piñata and it is AMAZING! It is filled with churros, chocolate empanadas, and fruit. Not only is it fun (someone gets to crack it open) but it is tasty. Exceptional service!! Visited on a Saturday night, two weeks after the grand opening (1hr 45 min wait - Packed). Sat at the bar, due to the wait and the service was still amazing! Various servers stopped by and asked about our evening, the bartenders were attentive and the managing staff was more than friendly! Go. Do it. They take reservations. There's no excuse. First, the food is fantastic, and the margaritas are magic. The raspberry margarita on the rocks was fresh, and the tres amigos comes with half a lime filled with a shot of tequila. Second, the table-side guacamole is a must. I don't know what the secret ingredient is, but you'll have to work hard not to inhale your food all at once. On top of that, the space is beautiful. The ceilings are vaulted so you feel open, and there are windows halfway around. These windows open up to the patio, and if you're there late night you can relax outside next to a table top fire. So much potential but missed the mark. We read the reviews but had a gift card so we came anyway. Over priced supposedly scratch made food. My wife had the tacos and I had the enchiladas. The shells appeared and tasted store bought. The enchiladas lacked any flavor as well as all the other food. The rice was dry and had an off taste. The salsa was the best part of the meal. Even the beans needed salt. This place needs to look at its kitchen and focus on the taste of every menu item. If you can get tacos right then I'm scared to try anything else. read more

The ambience is very pleasant. Staff was friendly, but not particularly efficient or timely. They're roasted salsa was great. I like their tortilla chips but the food entrées were just kind of so so little bit bland not distinct flavors and coming from California. One of the best Mexican places in entire Wisconsin. Menu is limited but adequate. Chicken fajita is my favorite .It taste little different from regular mexican places in good way. Service makes this restaurant even more inviting. It's gets busy in evening so give yourself some extra time and enjoy the food drinks and ambiance. Full bar and variety of margaritas make this place perfect for hanging out. Located in shopping center. This whole area is developing pretty fast. Chips and salsa came out and the chips were thin and warm! However, the 1st cup of salsa had zero flavor (rough start). 2nd cup had much more flavor than the 1st. I would suggest asking for their hot salsa if you like good heat and more flavor. Their fish tacos were very good and if you like fish tacos give them a try. However, menu is very limited and most options are more than we'd typical pay for a dish. Lastly, my wife had a margarita and it was good! Going out to eat is expensive enough these days. I get it. The pandemic but now in the "rear view mirror's" been very tough on the restaurant industry. Take out ordering was the norm if they didn't have to shutter their operation. The food here at Uncle Julio's while good, but the customer service even now has been lousy. Inattentive, unknowledgeable and passing "along the buck". At least it has on the take out ordering side. You will be also charged automatically, a 3% service fee that almost no one can tell me what I am paying it for! True, if you eat in the restaurant you won't be paying the fee. I had asked them to remove it from my bill and they did. However, that wasn't easy and it had required speaking with an on duty stressed out of sorts younger manager NOT suited for this job unfortunately (Yvette - a train wreck). She does NOT know how to deal with people at all. Ask for Mgr. Crystal IF she's on duty instead. Much better with her. I would say dine in as the take out online ordering you pay more through the service fee though. Expect inconsistencies on order readiness and staff's inattention. read more

Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum! Beverage: The margaritas are DELISH and I'm not a big fan of margaritas. These are in a league of their own! I've tried a few different flavors and they are all amazing. Food: I definitely recommend getting something with steak. I have never had any Mexican dish with steak as tender, juicy and flavorful as this. Fajitas to dream about! Dishes come out with care and are impressive. Great flavors. Dessert: What fun to get the chocolate pinata! Such a unique experience. And delicious of course! Service: First time here, service was excellent. Second time was in a large group and it wasn't the best service but we still had a good time. Our server knew what clarifying questions to ask and also had the manager come out and talk to us about her order and the preparations to make her meal safe as well as yummy. Tex mex is what they are doing here. They have fajitas as their main thing which is on the pricey side but good. I had the gaudalauera fajitas which has chicken, steak and bacon wrapped shrimp I know its simple but it was hot and tasty.Other items are enchiladas and tacos as well as quesadillas ect. They have weekly specials and a rewards program to sign up for. I like the ambiance and my waiter/ bartender was very nice and did everything well. Today was guacamole day so it was $5 for a bowl and it was well worth it. Plus a $5 swirl margarita . So much good food read more

If I could give Uncle Julio's 0 stars, I would. Before I share anything, I want to mention that I have worked in the hospitality industry for years and I understand what restaurant owners and employers go through, especially after COVID. However, what my party and I experienced tonight was absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. I had a reservation at 6:15 pm for a party of 7. When we arrived, we were told they would check us in and we were asked to wait. There were many people in the waiting area yet for some strange reason there were multiple empty tables. 15 minutes had passed and at this point we politely asked if our table would be ready soon knowing we had a concert to catch in 1 hour and 45 minutes. The manager stepped in and then replied with "We have a completely full dining room tonight and there is nothing we can do." So with that, we decided we would wait for a few more minutes. 30 minutes had passed and we decided we should see if our table would be ready soon since we would now only have 1 hour to eat. We asked the waiter at the front if they were short staffed and if that was the reason for the wait. In return he said "no not exactly, in the most professional way possible, our management doesn't know how to delegate table and seating properly." With that, he apologized for the wait and said he would be back soon to see if he could seat us immediately. After another 10 minutes, the hostess seated a party that had come in after us, with no reservation. Needless to say, we left as we were incredibly upset and if we would have waited any longer, we would have missed our concert. This is not our first bad experience with reservations at Uncle Julio's and after this, we just can't see coming back. Why have a reservations system if a "reservation" doesn't mean anything?!?! The place looks great on the inside and out. But the prIces are a little steep. There's not much variety on the menu. They didn't even have burritos and you had too pay for extra sour creme. Our small guacamole was $8 but it was fresh. The grill chicken taste like it was in the freezer overnight. The decor was great but the food was subpar.
