I had lunch here today, the food was subpar maybe even microwaved. But my biggest complaint is the tip is already included in the bill, which I don't agree with, because the tip didn't reflect the service received. My party waited at least 10 minutes before we were even given a glass of water of which we had to ask for. And the waitress was not familiar with the check service they now have in place which is done electronically nor were we shown how to adjust the tip. Needless to say with so many restaurants in the area I doubt if I'll be done here again. read more

I've been here a few times so far and I have yet to be disappointed. The last time I visited I had the shrimp tacos. They were pretty good. Lots of flavors ! Also tried out the pineapple guacamole. I love Uncle Julios! The place always looks nice and colorful. The setting typically gets louder when it's lunch/dinner time. I love their complimentary salsa and chips. The chips are made fresh. I usually get enchiladas or carne Asada. The carne asada (steak) is always flavorful and juicy! For drinks I like getting their margaritas of the day! I've tried pineapple, blackberry, & raspberry and they were all good! If you like spicy drinks with a kick to it I recommend the el jefe. My absolute favorite is their cajeta dessert! Made a reservation for 4 PM on a Sunday late afternoon. At least 30 servers available in the busy restaurant that was not very busy. Sebastian was our waiter, nice young kid but definitely could use some training on customer service. Help their selves to napkins and silverware off nearby tables that were empty. My husband ordered the steak fajitas, I ordered the Barbacoa Fajitas. These are described as sizzling fajitas, when they came I was utterly shocked at the presentation. Most of the servers are standing in the back that you can see through the entrance to the kitchen talking laughing at cell phone pictures. Had to get another waitress to ask our waiter to bring us new drinks. Manager did come over I did expressed my concerns and nothing was offered, I did tell the manager that I will never I repeat ever come back here again. We went in for dinner with a party of 5. The server came and took our drink orders right away but that was about the extent of the 'good' from the experience. It took over 20 mins for our drinks to arrive. The drinks must have sat on the bar for awhile because the frozen drinks had mostly melted and separated. We ordered food and were told that the red sauce on the enchiladas was not spicy. It was, so my daughter wouldn'teat it. We were also told that the enchiladas did NOT have onions because my wife can't eat them. They DID, so my wife wouldn't eat them. We ordered chicken tacos that were supposed to be pulled chicken. It was big chunks and not prepared the way it normally has been on previous visits. In all, we had 3 out of 5 meals that were not eaten. Not our 1st visit but probably will be our last. After having them test the carne asada they determined it wasn't salty, our party of just a few people felt icky stomaches after Ordering the same carne asada platter with the rice beans lettuce tomato and guacamole. This was our first time at Uncle Julio's and we went for my husband's birthday. We had made a reservation and had the option of sitting either inside or outside. We chose outside since it was a nice evening - this was a mistake for us. Our waiter came to us immediately, brought drinks in a very timely manner and repeatedly checked on us and was attentive to our table, including to our energetic 6 year old. The chips were freshly made and I LOVE the salsa - it has a smoky flavor to it. The food was outstanding - I had the honey mesquite fajitas (not a dish I had ever tried anywhere before) and it was a perfect combination of sweet and savory. My husband had the skirt steak fajitas, and he practically licked his plate. My daughter had kids' fajitas, and in hindsight, we should have opted for something else, as she only ate the chicken and a couple of bites of rice - this was our own fault. The dish came with refried beans too - not a kid favorite (although I love them!) The ONLY issue we had, and like I said, it was of our own choosing, was that it was LOUD outside. We were seated next to a table of 4 people who were drinking heavily and laughing and shouting very loudly, including profanities (fine for us, not so fine for our kid and a couple of other kids outside). The music outside was also VERY loud, so the overall feel outside was just too loud. When we go back (and we WILL go back!) we will definitely opt to sit inside. read more

We went here for a lunch on a weekday, so there were not long lines or crazy waits as many of the dinnertime/weekend reviews have noted. The hostess seated us quickly (there were about 5 other people/groups in line), and our server was very friendly. We had a few questions about the menu, and she was able to answer them with no problem. Chips and salsa are served free at each table- and I enjoyed the salsa. We started with the table side guacamole which was delicious- some of the best that I've had, and the woman who made it was able to make it to our specifications as far as level of spice. I got a margarita of the day which was watermelon flavored- delicious with large chunks of fresh watermelon- my favorite kind of margarita. For my entree I did the chicken and steak fajitas. They were solid, but probably my least favorite part of the meal. Overall, I was pleased with my experience at Uncle Julio's. Shane (I believe was her name) was very friendly and attentive to our needs. She didn't skip a beat when we told her we were only there for dessert. We ordered some margaritas and she took the time to chat with us about how everything is hand pressed and hand made every day, which I appreciated. Our margs were tasty and well prepared. The service started out okay. Our waiter was Jose. He had some great recommendations for drinks and food. I was served my shrimp quesadillas with an extra long hair. The waitstaff was apologetic and quickly remade my food...I think. They also kept the drink flowing for my colleagues. As we ended our experience it was hard to get our waiter. We waited over 30 minutes for him to come and get the check. By then most of our party had left for the night. Good food (minus the hair) and some delicious drinks. My wife ordered coffee with some milk instead of cream, our waiter brought a very large glass of milk and charged her more for the milk then coffee. I can't see this place lasting very long. I really want to like this place but I'm done trying. Went the day they opened and the food was ok. Have since given it many more chances and it was getting better. The other day I called to order take out and the guy on the phone said I had to come in and order. Stood at the bar for 25 min and waited for my food. My order was for ground beef tacos. When the woman who handed me my order she said "steak tacos?". I told her no, I had ordered ground beef. She knew it was steak and said she read it wrong and they were indeed ground beef. Got back to my store and checked the bag... it was steak. She lied to me for the sake of not having to re-make my take out order. Then I called the restaurant after waiting my entire lunch break for incorrect food and the manager brought my correct food to my store. However i received uncooked ground beef. Not sure if it was a second mistake or a joke for complaining about my first order. Either way I never got to eat lunch that day and I will NEVER be going back. It started out good with a very pleasant young lady who greeted us and explained about the open seating in the bar area. We were fortunate to quickly get a table in the bar area. Our server came to wipe off the table and promptly wiped some old onions left from the last guest into my lap. No big deal as I had jeans on. She didn't realize she did it. Our server was pleasant and polite and explained everything. We ordered our drinks and when they came I was disappointed at the small size of the margarita. Maybe 5 sips from the small, ice packed glass at the most. When our main dish arrived the young man who delivered it was involved in a conversation with another employee and he basically tossed my plate at me.(Im sure he didn't even realize it) On top of that it was the wrong order. They did not deliver the tortillas to my girlfriends daughter at the time they presented her with her entree. The same server set a side dish for her onto a dish already on the table nearly spilling the contents of the side dish into her lap if not for her quick reaction. Pay attention to what you are doing young man!!!! They corrected my dish and brought out the tortillas at the same time they brought out my corrected order. But now my girlfriends daughters entree was cold! The manager, Brittany did come over and was pleasant and apologized and offered to buy us a $4.99 desert. I was overwhelmed with her gracious offer! (Not) Way too much competition in the area and was not impressed. Food was ok, but not great. The red sauce on the enchiladas was spicy and good but the chicken was very dry. The salsa was overly smokey flavored. The guacamole was very good. The other dishes were just O.K. Overall, I have to say Uncle Julio is not my favorite uncle. read more
