Came here late night after flying in. We arrived at 10pm to chicago and this was the only spot open. Food quality is great! I got the al pastor taco plate which is an all day deal for $9.99. Al pastor had lots of flavor and even came w diced pineapple. Lots of sauces available at the sauce bar, Jalapeño Salsa is the best one!! The only thing is that the normal price is kinda steep for a normal taco spot, sitting around $4-5 per taco...I do feel that the taco is worth maybe $3 each especially because they aren't fully loaded tacos. Service was great, the guy at the front was super helpful and patient, he even made sure we got our good pretty swiftly. Ambiance is fine, it's an order then eat type of situation. My husband and I visited to celebrate Cinco De Mayo which also happened to be Taco Tuesday this year! Taco Maya's running Tuesday special is buy 2 tacos, get 1 free. They had a wide variety of tacos flavors from classics to signature flavors. They also had 5 veggie options! My husband and I knew we had to order their new "soft serve margarita". They had strawberry, mango, or swirl flavors. We got the swirl and it was presented with a Tajin rim and fruit garnish. Although it lists it had alcohol in it, it definitely just tasted like ice cream. Still delicious! For food, I got 2 ground beef tacos and the Chili Potato taco. I loved the ground beef flavor but the chili potato was a bit spicy for me. My husband got the Signature, Birria, and Chicken Tikka tacos. The Signature was by far his favorite followed by the Birria. The Chicken Tikka taco was ok. We arrived when there was a lull in busyness but staff seemed a bit flustered. We had to correct the woman working the cash register twice as she was punching in the wrong flavors. When our food came, we were offered the wrong order twice as well as I got the wrong toppings on mine. One gentleman was quick to step in and correct the situation. We got our correct orders and they gave the two wrong tacos to us complimentary. Overall, this is a great fast casual Mexican spot. Driving around hungry wanting some tacos on a late night I just happened to come across this lil gem! Not your typical taco place and i wouldn't even call it authentic. I think it's more tacos with a modern twist. They have a number of different types of tacos to order and a very nice selection of different dishes from tacos to burritos to tortas and fries etc. They also have like 6-8 different types of hot sauce which I think is cool! I just had to share about a recent dinner my wife and I had at the Taco Maya in Schaumburg. Full disclosure, I'd popped into their Bloomingdale spot when it first opened and it didn't quite hit the mark for me back then, so I wasn't really planning on a return visit. But then my wife mentioned they had a samosa taco and honestly, that was all it took. I was intrigued enough to give the Schaumburg location a shot, and boy, am I glad we did. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Nagesh, who was an absolute star. He was so genuinely friendly and super helpful. I usually like to get recommendations, and he totally delivered with some fantastic suggestions. He also casually mentioned their app has a cool deal where you get $7 off your first order if you sign up for to go. We decided to dine in that night, and Nagesh smoothly guided us through everything pointing out the big menu on the screen and also handing us a smaller one to look over at our table. He just told us to take our time and come up to order when we were ready, which was really nice and relaxed. I went for the three taco dinner, which comes with rice and your choice of refried or black beans. Heads up, if you go for one of their specialty tacos in the dinner, it's an extra dollar per taco, but totally worth it. My first taco was the steak, and wow, it was phenomenal. The meat was incredibly tender, packed with flavor, and had that perfect char you dream of. Next up was the Chingon taco steak and chorizo with melted cheese, Yes please. The combination of the char on the steak and the kick from the chorizo really made that one sing. For my third taco, I usually steer clear of Al Pastor, but Nagesh really sold me on it when I asked him about it and you know what. My mind was blown. The Al Pastor was incredible, and the pineapple was just perfect. Seriously, I haven't had an Al Pastor taco that good in years, Taco Maya just set a new standard for me. That samosa taco. Pure genius, Who would have thought those flavors would work so perfectly in a taco. My wife tried the paneer taco and loved hers too, which is always a good sign. We also swung by the salsa bar, which was super clean and had a great selection to customize our tacos. My favorite the jalapeno salsa. We also shared an order of Nachos Supreme, piled high with steak, and they were really good overall. If I had one tiny suggestion, it would be to add a little more refried beans and queso, but that's just a personal preference. The only slight disappointment was the guacamole it tasted a little flat and was a bit on the darker side, so it could use a brighter, fresher note. honestly, those tacos and Nagesh's service made our night. We absolutely loved everything else and are already planning our next trip back. Taco Maya had some delicious tacos that were very filling. We got some steak tacos and some shrimp tacos with corn tortillas and they did not disappoint. You can get American style or Mexican style tacos. They even got a salsa bar where you have different options for the type of salsa you like. My favorite is Jalapeño Hot has really good flavor. You also get chips and salsa if you dine in! They had alot of seating even a party room for bigger groups. Place was nice to hangout but just a few tables that could've been clean but nothing to bad. A little more pricey then your normal taco spot but i think its worth it. Also the Horchata was good and even better you get free Refills! First time, trying out Taco Maya. I didn't realize it's a chain with many locations in Illinois. I would give this location a 4.5. Place was clean. Plenty of tables to sit and eat. Sauce bar. Service was good, it did not take them long to get your food to you if you are dining in. Prices range from cheap to slightly expensive for a taco. I like to try the speciality ones, so if the price matches the quality then I'm okay with that. They give you free chips and salsa while waiting. Chips are very good, not overly salty. I ordered the signature taco, dorado taco, chicken tinga taco, elotes, rice, and horchata. Signature 5/5 - very flavorful. Everything pairs well. Dorado 5/5 - fish was moist and i love that Chipotle Mayo that goes with it. Chicken tinga 5/5 - generous amount of meat and it wasn't dry. Rice 1/5 - i love Mexican rice but i would prefer it to be without the peas. Peas kind of ruined the taste for me. Elotes 5/5 - it has a little kick to it. I'll usually order the chicken taco dinner or the Al pastor taco dinner with onions and cilantro. They serve their tacos with grilled onions rather than raw, but I like them either way. If you'd like, you can choose 3 different tacos for your dinner. They have a wide variety of tacos to choose from, including a Nashville taco, which is nice and spicy! I really like their shrimp tacos, too. I want to try the others because they have so many! My boyfriend loves their burritos. Sometimes, we have people over and will order from here- everyone is always loving the food! I ordered takeout of the 3 taco plate (soft shell chicken taco's) that comes with rice and beans which was pretty good. I like that they have the self serve taco sauce station with many choices from mild to xtra hot and other fun ones to try that I hadn't heard of before. The beans were put in a little taco bowl so they didn't run into the tacos in the takeout container. Tacos were assembled nicely and were flavorful. Packaging for takeout was great. Although this is a good place, with so many taco places I'm not limiting myself to one. This place is good for carryouts. Was in town for the week and wanted to try this Mexican spot. For appetizers we got the guacamole and queso. The queso was great and light while the guac was packed with flavor. The tacos I got were also quite flavorful. The paneer taco was my favorite. I got the tacos with flour tortillas but will probably get it with corn tortillas next time. The falafel taco was pretty interesting and the first time I've had a taco like that. The atmosphere was relaxed and it was not too busy. Food was well priced and the staff were great. Rice isn't seasoned very well, or at all. Same as the black beans, very bland with minimal seasoning. Probably wouldn't order the platter next time however the tacos are delicious! My friend and I came here last week because it was open late and had a variety of meat and veggie options and we loved it. First coming in, the customer service was amazing and the staff was friendly and kind to help us. I enjoyed the veggie taco and paneer taco too, but the paneer taco was a little too much lime for me. My friend liked the meat options he had and we liked the free salsas that came alongside the chips given when eating in the restaurant.
