I can't say enough good things about this place. The service is top notch. Feels more upscale than the typical Mexican style food restaurants in the area. I love the variety of salsas and thin, hot crisp chips. I ordered the Steak Bowl which was full of flavor and my husband ordered a combo plate with enchiladas and a soft steak taco. He said it was super tasty. The featured margarita was a Watermelon one that was very refreshing. Then the manager recommended a margarita with 3 tequilas and gave us a sample of their mix which they make in-house. Light and refreshing. Best margarita I've had in a long time! read more

My family and I used to love Uncle Julios. Unfortunately, something has changed and the quality of the food and service has deteriorated. The quality of the steak used for steak fajitas is no longer worth the premium price tag. They have also dropped one of the salsas that used to be available. Service was always a little slow but the food was worth it. I write this review in hopes management reads it and makes the necessary improvements to remain in business. read more

The chocolate piñata was a showstopper and we all enjoyed it. Beyond that, service was poor. Not sure if it was just our waiter. We were not given an adequate amount of salsa for our table of six adults and a child. We had to ask for more. The wrong salad was served to my colleague and the waiter spilled more than half of my beans on my Baja fish tacos. We also had to ask for small plates for the chocolate piñata ($35). Our drinks were not promptly refilled either. I do not like paying with the handheld card reader. I would have to wave down the waiter again to ask if we could split the cost of the appetizer and/or dessert. Not sure if there's an easy way I could have done it on my own. read more

Having dined with a large group at uncle Julio's Tulsa there are some things I would improve. Nothing truly against the food, it was decent and the chips were well salted the main problem we had was our server. Diego though understandably would be overwhelmed with such a large group but he was disrespectful and unable to complete his tasks well. We waited 30 minutes to put in our drink order, not get our drinks just to tell him what we wanted. When brought to his attention he chose to blame us instead of taking accountability and just grabbing the drinks. Then When ordering food though he seemed to be writing on his pad still delivered the wrong food. Diego also needed my help to give everyone their food because he simply did not listen to the people around him telling him whose food was who. Coming from a family of servers I understand it is overwhelming to have a large group but this was simply unacceptable. We offered to have two servers and help him to make the dining experience as smooth for him as possible since he simply could not do it. When leaving and settling the bill he then tried to keep the cash leftover from a ticket (which was not intended since it was way more than the meal and tip was included) overall decent food horrible service. read more

We've eaten here about 6 times and it's a 50/50 crap shoot whether we'll be satisfied or not. Pass on the tableside guacamole appetizer; the kitchen made is better. This most recent visit all the 4 meal servings were barely warm to cold temperature. Some sent theirs back only to be disappointed again. I'm sorry to write this review me and my family had a very underwhelming experience. It wasn't as much as the food than the service. We had a server that didn't speak much English. We were trying to get around the barriers, but he kept telling us things were extra when we didn't ask for prices. He couldn't explain to us that we cannot add an extra meat to our taco bar. Most of our experience he wasn't around. He wasn't very attentive at all. Which made the experience even worse. The food was just OK at best. I bought the $28 steak fajita. The portion was pretty laughable. I was very discouraged about it. It was chewy and I think that if you are charging premium prices, you need to be ordering premium ingredients. The guacamole was cool. The onions and bell pepper under the steak were flavorful. The steak was so chewy. The tortillas were delicious. I will be back to order tortillas only. They make the flour tortillas from scratch that is the only thing I completely enjoyed, unfortunately. I won't be back unless it is a to go tortilla order. read more

One member of my party ordered Tex mex combo which included beef enchilada a chicken enchilada and a taco, he said it was really good, another member of my party, had cheese enchiladas , I had shrimps fajitas, it came out hot, the shrimp was big, the beans and rice were good and I was full when I finished. Although the service was great and the atmosphere is a more "upscale" version of local Mexican restaurants, the food is overpriced in my opinion. You can find much better Mexican food throughout Tulsa for a more reasonable price. Wow, I was really impressed with the physical space itself. The lighting and design were chic while still being relevant to the cuisine. The staff was incredibly pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. I love that the guacamole was made in front of us in a bar cart. I really enjoyed my fish tacos, beans, and rice. While the Tex Mex options are not unique, they are certainly made from good quality ingredients and well-seasoned. I have a family with two young kids. They brought out big glass cups for both the kids. The drinks ended up costing the same as an adult drink. We also got a small side of guacamole for the table that cost $9, but was just a tiny scoop. Options on the menu were not very many, and overly complicated. Great place, great food! Ordered the fajitas with unlimited flavor tortillas. The tortillas were fresh! The salsa was juicy and can taste the flavors. The fajitas were cook perfectly! The texture went well with the fresh tortillas. Plenty of avocado. I was surprised when they brought me white rice! Loved it! White and Mexican rice are different so they brought both. Wish I could do half stars but I would give this place a 3.5. Service was good! It's new and very busy, we did have a wait but not bad, it was expected for Sunday lunch. We liked the margarita's and the churros. I wished the food had more flavor or kick to it but wasn't awful, I would say a Chipotle burrito bowl has more flavor than Uncle Julio's one. I like that it's an option though, I haven't seen it at a lot of places. I had the absolute worst fajitas I ever had that beef was so hard to chew , our salsa tasted bad and it was an overall bad expensive dinner

The new building and decor is nice but thats as far as it goes. The hostess was not not customer friendly for being the face of the company. My wife ordered a ranch water, which according to the menu is Topo Chico and tequila. That is not what we got, we got tequila and seltzer water from the bar hose. Verified as we were seated next to the bar and watched her make it. We told our waitress this wasn't Topo Chico and they offered to remake it, which came out the same, very unfortunate. A brand new business cutting corners, no a good way to start out a company. We ordered the queso blanco to start out with as an appetizer. The queso was good but the chips are so dang thin they wont hold up to a salsa dip let alone a queso dip. We ordered the Filet Mignon Fajitas for two. The filets were very tender, but the kitchen still couldn't cook them correctly. We said medium on the cook and got one medium and the other rare. I know the business is new here only being open for 3 weeks at this point, but there was too many mistakes for that expensive of a meal. As a side note before we went we looked at the Tulsa menu online and prices turned out to be very different then the menus in the restaurant. Much higher in the restaurant. This review is only for my meal. I've NEVER sent food back for any reason. I normally write it off as a bad choice of mine. I'm kicking myself got not returning my meal last evening. I never order fish tacos unless someone told me that they are going to be delicious at this restaurant. Not the case today! Beautiful presentation. Poor execution! When the meal came, I took all three tacos and emptied each on my plate. Like having a mini fish salad. Before waiter left our table, I attempted to cut one off the three filets. It was HARD. I asked him if I had ordered chicken and he said no sir that's fish. Normally even fried fish won't be as hard as chicken. These three expensive small cold filets were absolutely the worst meal I've had to pay for in years. I swear they were horribly cold, hard and barely had taste of fish. Two weeks ago my wife and I split the Guadalajara and it was fantastic! Meaning that this restaurant is a meat place, not fish! I could have gotten better fish at Red Lobster! Absolutely a fantastic place to dine. We sat at the bar where Jose was our bartender/ waiter/ server. He was great w the menu and spot on with service. We started with the table side guacamole, very tasty and fresh! We ordered the flaming Jalisco fajitas! Presentation was beautiful. Spicy shrimp, a garlic butter chicken and steak fajitas w charro beans, rice etc. the in-house made tortillas were so fresh and delightful. The chicken was our favorite. The butter sauce really adds a lot of flavor to the meal. The Happy Hour margaritas were refreshing and very smooth. We will be back! read more

We were only served with appetizer size plates and had to ask for dinner size plates. None of the food had any flavor whatsoever. From the moment I found out the restaurant was open I was dying for a reason to go out to eat. Today our experience was definitely one to remember. While the service was slow, we never got offered more chips & a spoon same out dirty I will say the friendliness of the staff and the amazing food made those problems seem obsolete. The food was phenomenal and met every expectation I had based off the aroma of food you could smell from outside of the building. The Beef Barbacoa Fajitas fell apart in my mouth. The drinks we ordered almost looked too good to drink. The strawberries used for the strawberry margaritas were absolutely delicious.
