Chicken bacon ranch personal pizza
Novella N.

I don't travel over the bridge often but since a close friend of mine moved close to Montvale, she decided to take us to her favorite restaurant. Uncle Louie's is a nice spot serving a very vast menu. It definitely took a minute to figure out what to order! For a starter we ordered calamari and then our own individual entrees. I decided on a chicken bacon ranch personal pizza. It was very filling and I only ate half. I would find myself coming back in the future!

Good Italian restaurant across the Montvale Lanes Bowling. After going to bowling, you can stop there since they are right across from each other. I tried combo sandwich and chicken parm sandwich there. They are pretty good. I would definitely go back, if I am in the area during lunch time again. Service was great and friendly. The ambiance also was so welcoming.

A great pizza place for lunch today. They may sell slices but it look cool down and I decided to stay in for just a whole pie. This is exactly how I like from NY/NJ pizza. Good balance of the dough, sauce and cheese also important thing is thickness and done-ness. All good but just a slightly salty(sauce or cheese) so it's better with beer for dinner. 16" Large and 5 slices for takeout.

Personal Pizzas, yummy & filling

Delicious, fresh casual pizza joint with NJ's best. We got takeout & it was very good. Highly recommend the Eggplant Rollatini pizza, so delicious. Their Vodka sauce is awesome. I didn't realize I'd ordered penne on the pizza but it was a fun carb-fest Also enjoyed crisp mozz sticks & fresh Caesar salad. Seems like a good stop for young families & kids. Will be back for sure!!

A great place for lunch or a quick dinner. Dining area is clean and not crowded. A sizable menu and lots of pizza choices. The pizza was nice and hot and crispy. The antipasto salad was really good but the dressing was so so.

A pizza with a receipt

So I guess maybe I annoyed them for ordering before closing. Think they forgot my receipt on the pie and pizza must have slid ( I delivered for 2-3 years so not mad about it) Food overall was very very flavorful Changed to a 4 after a slice! Very good, next time maybe I'll order during the day.

Sicilian slices

Was nearby the Montvale train station and I was looking for something new to eat. I checked yelp and found this place. There's dine in service and take out available. I was somewhat of a hurry, so I just ordered a few slices. I tried the neopolitan slice and two Sicilian slices. It was enough to fill me up. Food was good, nothing really wrong with the slices, but nothing that would knock my socks off. The service was pretty quick and friendly.

What a treat! My…read morefriend and I grabbed an early dinner for the first time at The Pier, it won't be the last time. We started our dinner with a shared plate of fried calamari. The calamari was tender and the coating was crispy. A perfect appetizer. I enjoyed, a delicious meal of Littleneck Clam Linguine, which I've been talking about ever since. My partner dined on the fresh fish of the day and thoroughly enjoyed his meal as well. Everyone we came in contact with, from the gracious woman who seated us to Beth our helpful and friendly server made us feel welcome. Can't wait to return.

Sure I love sushi, but if it tastes fishy, it's bad fish and growing up in Norway on boiled fish and an evil concoction called Lutefisk. I haven't been a big fan of the seafood scene here in the tri-state. This placed changed my mind. The first time here our waitress, Beth made sure we knew what was fresh and popular for the evening. Throw in the fact that the owner Ralph and his mom checked in on us that we were happy with our dinners made this a great over the top local place. Food: For appetizers I had the escargot. It was amazing. Not your standard escargot in a standard scalloped dish with a small dash of garlic and butter, but a bowl consisting of a wonderful broth of escargot, garlic, butter and accompanied with toasted baguette slices. Mains: My wife ordered the "Codfather"consisting of cod, shrimp and scallops. Let's just say I made sure to keep my arms and hands on my side of the table and not attempt to try a sample from her plate with the fear of losing a digit. I ordered the fish and chips. Hey! It's fried, can't go wrong as a non-fish eater going with this route. Nope. Beyond my expectations. My last best fish and chips was at the famous take away at the Borough Market in London. This version? Fresh Cod, well done fries, homemade tartar sauce and coleslaw, just saved me the airfare to the UK. We have all ready been back twice. It is our new fave.

I suggest you head towards the houses, away from town, if you can't find a spot. I've been anxious to try this place as the pictures look solid enough and reviewers thus far seem content. My wife and I entered with plans to have beer and apps. We ended up getting Guinness, onion rings, fried calamari and the Cooper's Burger. You can't beat a 22oz Guinness for $8. The prices on their website also match what you'll see inside. Lately I find so many restaurants are charging more than they advertise online. Service was great, friendly and very attentive. I was also surprised to see how well they clean tables between customers. Spray, wipe table, wipe lamp, shakers, etc. It's totally clean for the next customer. There are only 8 or so tables in here, plus bar seating. We enjoyed some comfy seats at a high top table for two. The onion rings were great - crisp and battered nicely so they hold together. While almost a little overcooked, they were still good and better than I had at the last high end steakhouse I went to. The fried calamari was fairly priced and a good portion. It had a light crispness, though bigger pieces would've been nicer. They were mostly small, but certainly a lot of it. The accompanying marinara was good and plentiful. We got the Cooper's Burger cooked medium and it came out medium. It's a simple burger that comes with lettuce and tomato. Some red onion wouldn't been nice. They charge extra for all sorts of stuff you can get on top - fried mushrooms, fried onions, eggs, etc. It also comes with fries, which were good. Overall, it was a nice cozy time. Several middle aged couples ate here that night and a couple small groups. No loud bar crowds as they're all on central avenue. In fact, I was surprised how nice the acoustics were inside. You can hear people at your table no problem, can hear the music inside at the right level and don't hear a lot of background chatter or noise. I'd most certainly return if in the mood for pub food. And ... No credit card fee!

I had driven by once or twice and was contemplating entering the establishment myself; however, I have a keen sense for these types of locals and I felt I had to wait for an invite as such I eventually received. I was correct in my estimation, as my final determination of this spot... of which I'll get to... is that I'd walk (not run) back and would be willing to give it another guy for another event. The ambiance is quite remarkable for a Pub Flex+ type of joint. Double jointed with two floors, flexed into a bar upon entry, booths and high tables throughout... this place is quite bright and cheery. It feels like it can fit an entire hall until it actually had to... in which such a large space felt like it had been cranked by an f and cuddled a family of orphan dogs. For a gastropub the menu was short, yet sweet. I could've probably ordered anything on the menu and felt like I got an above average meal. I got the 4 leaves burger which was indeed a very above average burger accompanied by above average fries. Their duty was dutiful but did not have me barging over barrels for more. Nor did it for others, although everyone seemed to enjoy their meals in a bright and professional environment. As for lunch or dinner? I'd only come back again for work. But I've got a hinker, or maybe a tinker, that brunch in here would be quite nice. The day will come when I try it and I hope to be able to bring back better news than above average. LB usually doesn't do above average... as you know. But sometimes I like to make the unsung swan feel like a bell of a ball. What a guy. Four leaves. No regret, another notch on the belt, but no love.

I was eager to give this place another shot and hopefully be able to bump up the stars. However, the lackluster food really prohibits the matter. Everyone was happy drinking beers, cocktails, wine. The drinks were good. Cocktails weren't large pours, but I think were about adequate. The food is where we all struggled. Fire roasted hummus - good enough hummus, I liked the diced tomatoes, cucumbers and olives, but the "warm pita" was dreadful. I thought it just tasted like stale roasted pita. Sometime next to me said it tasted like old matza. Tavern nachos - these were a bit more tolerable, but nothing really on the plate to get excited about. The oversized chips were great too use in the hummus because of the awful pita. Otherwise, there was a bit of avocado, a drizzle of cheese and really not much else there to scoop up with every bite. Spinach dip - a lot was left on the bar when we were done as I think everyone just didn't care for the flavors. Popcorn chicken - this one was good! They sorta forgot to bring the orders of this one out, but we were all grateful when it finally arrived. Piping hot, crisp pieces of chicken breast with a tasty dipping sauce. We all enjoyed this one to wrap up the happy hour. I'm doubtful we'll return as a group as we've had more enjoyable happy hours elsewhere.

Their leadership,…read morein some indirect fashion, has led to the craftsmanship of El Azteca - A slight chain of Mexican restaurants in a 30 min radius of Bergen County. I will copy and paste this review across the Park Ridge and Mahwah locations so emphasize my appreciate for their consistency in providing great Mexican food. If you are consistently performing, Linguini will take care of you. Like I've taken care of many others. I will bring you to the top with me. If you backstab me. Oh if you come for me at the top, you will reach an abyss so deep you may end up digging to China. Don't test me. I'm not that guy. Anyways, I've tried a lot from Azteca. Most of what they've got is a 4/4.5 out of 5 but I'm rounding up for the full experience. Phenomenal price point. Variety of food that all comes out well. Performs well in restaurant and when the food travels. Friendly staff. And local business of which I support. I suffer from GGS - Good Guy Syndrome, sorry not sorry. My motha, bless her soul. I legit mean bless her soul. Be nice. Pray. Bow down to her. She doesn't eat much food but she even loved the taco salad here so much that she asked to go again. So much protein, so well seasoned. Just as their other options showcase as well. My personal favs are the Kash Burrito and the, what I'd call "trademark" Cod Burrito. Never have seen it elsewhere like this. The wrap is toasted wonderfully, great rice, great salsa. I mean this place just does it real well. I've had tacos, appetizers, desserts. Never let down. El Azteca is consistently good. Constantly pushing out quality product. Is it the best Mexican I've had? No. But it's the most underrated. Being a consistent 4, makes you a five in my books. It's like that girl that's occasionally a 6 or occasionally an 9... you can't bring her home. But that girl that's consistently a 7 or an 8? You let her meet the fam. I don't where I'm going with this one. All I'll say is STOP. Stop going to Chipotle, Bubbakoo's, etc. when you could be supporting a better quality and friendlier priced location in El Azteca. Thank you in advance. I will be watching - LB.
