If you have an event and need the food at a certain time do NOT go to this place. My husband walked in on a Friday to place an order to be picked up for Monday. I called back Sunday to change the order from pick up to delivery. They told me to call back Monday at 9am morning since they didn't have the key to get into there POS system whatever that means. I called back Monday morning around 9:15 a man answered and they are a still not ready he ask me to call him back in 10 min the door is still closed. I waited till 10am hoping they get their shit together. I called back same guy answered he charged me over the phone he even asked me how much I wanted to tip the driver. The drop off for a kids school was suppose to be set for 11:30. I started getting nervous as the time went from 11:30 to 11:35 I called village to ask if the pizza was on the way. At this point a lady answers the phone I tell her the situation and she's adamant about having called the wrong restaurant. At this point I'm fuming the kids are wonder where their pizza is and I'm on the phone trying to tell this lady it is the correct place and you guys even charged me. She then tells me yes I see the order it was delivered Friday. I was honestly so confused, I called my husband since he was the one to place the order for me. She then proceeded to call me back to tell me I did not have to call my husband. She said it was a mistake yelling through the phone, telling me I'm not one of there usual customers. So that's probably why she felt comfortable enough to call me back to chew me out over their mistake. I finally told this lady you know what after I'm done talking over the phone when I'm done here I'll take a trip to talk with your boss cause they way your talking to me is insane then the phone clicks. Also, I explained my story to the other parents and they had the same issue with this place. Don't go here very unprofessional to call back a customer to yell at them over your mistake is mind blowing. Also the pizza did in fact come which by her behavior I was worried it wouldn't show up at all. At 12pm they show up when the kids lunch was already over. Horrible experience! Have ordered catering platters twice, and both times they have been awesome! Thought I had taken a picture of the wrap platter, but I guess not! At least I got a pic of one of the wraps! They are filled with meat and very tasty! Take a look at the picture! Ordered a sandwich platter as well this time, and the sandwiches were excellent too! The bread was amazing and as you can see, stuffed with quality fillings! Got some garlic knots last time, which were almost the size of a tennis ball, and they were great! When we went to use it, the man behind the counter said it was for take-out only. When we pointed out that it did not say that anywhere, he pivoted to say that it said cash only. When we pointed out that it did not say that either, he got angry, refused to honor the coupon and said that they had survived for years and would continue to survive without our business. I always enjoy coming in here. The people behind the slice counter are always very nice. There's waiter service as well, but I mostly go on my lunch break. But it has that hometown small Italian restaurant feel in the dining room. They have an array of very interesting types of slices, but my fave is the the chicken roll. It's big, but they didn't give me any problems when I asked them to cut it in half, heat one half,a and package the other up. And as someone who has a sweet tooth, they have a baked zeppole that is just sinful. It's basically dough and cheese wrapped up, baked, and sprinkled with powdered sugar. I have come to expect Village's delivery orders to come a bit late, but this was ridiculous. I pre-ordered my food (two items, one for breakfast and one for lunch) at 9:30 AM, knowing their first delivery is available to be made at 10:45 AM. Fair enough. Grubhub delivery estimate says "between 10:50 AM and 11:00 AM." Also fair enough. Beginning of deliveries for the day, I understand. 12:00 PM, food still isn't here. I call, the person answering the phone says that the delivery driver just called them, and they should be here in a minute. Ten MORE minutes roll by before the driver shows up with my food. I won't complain about the food quality; the food is fine. I WILL complain that this place is not at all far from my job, and he had a second order with him, which likely means that right before they were about to deliver my order, they got another order for my job and waited another 40+ minutes for that food to be ready before they even left. I get that maybe you want to make everything in one trip; it makes sense. But that kind of delay is absolutely unacceptable. You're a food service venue with a delivery option; getting food to your patrons in a reasonable amount of time is your JOB. It does not take two hours to make a chicken roll and a tuna wrap. Bottom line, if you have a delivery, and another new order comes in right before you're about to leave, don't wait. Make two trips. We aren't hours away from you; it won't be a many-miles-long trek to get to us. Do your job. I will not be ordering from here until I see some serious reviews indicating that their delivery service has vastly improved. I am not interested in waiting around twice as long for my food as I should have, even given the possibility of heavy patron traffic; a restaurant should be prepared for an onslaught. It's pretty much your standard American pizzeria. They have reliable food and very reasonable delivery time. I have only once dined in at the restaurant a few years back, and it was oddly with the mayor (some sort of scout event I think it was). Thus, I can't say much about the wait staff since I don't remember much about the experience. The Food: Their specialty pizzas are quite delicious. My personal favorite is the Margherita Pizza, which is by far the best there. Their Buffalo Chicken Pizza is a guilty pleasure of mine, though much pricier than the standard slice. In fact, if you want the Buffalo Chicken Pizza, opt for the full pizza, instead of buying individual slices; individual ones are $4.00 when combined with tax, which is way too much for one slice. For appetizers, I usually order the potato skins. The portion is fair and it tastes pretty good when hot. Personally, I think they could go a bit easy on the bacon; yea, that's right, I said it. And I'd say it again too if I had the chance...they could go a bit easy on the bacon. Believe me, I love bacon as much as the next person, but the quality of it isn't too high here, and the amount that is put on the potato skins overpowers any flavor from the other ingredients; at that point, you might as well just get bacon from the grocery store. The Chicken Parmesan sub is a good choice for lunch and the portion is quite big. I think it came with fries too the last time I checked. Avoid their Buffalo Wings and Chicken Fingers, because they taste pretty awful. read more
