I don't agree with most of the negative reviews - we had a great lunch with excellent service. We were both definitely outsiders - NOT locals. I'm from one hour west (in Minnesota) and my friend is from one hour east (in Wisconsin). But we both felt very welcome. Uncle Mike's is a totally unpretentious local joint. They're connected to the hotel. The entrance is on the north side. We ate our food at the bar. Our food was really good. Later, we found out that the cook, chef, and chief bottle washer was the owner. Nice guy. The prices are all super reasonable too. Our bartender was excellent. While the food here tonight was admittedly good, it was seriously tainted by the terrible service we received from start to finish. Our group was out celebrating a birthday, and we had two large tables full of people. After being the last to arrive, I noticed that one of our tables was finishing their drinks, as our waitress came to see what we wanted to drink. She didn't mention her name, just wrote down our drinks and left. Shortly after, she came back with some drinks, but had no idea where they belonged, and was missing one of the waters. Meanwhile, we sat at a table of 11 people with two menus on it. If it were busy in the restaurant, I could understand there being a shortage of menus. But it wasn't. For a Friday night, it was pretty calm. Eventually, we received our correct drink orders. (Pretty sure our waitress had to run back at least three times to get them). Out of nowhere, our second table was handed their appetizers and second round of drinks. Never ONCE were we asked if we were ready to order or if we even wanted to. We had to flag the girl down and let her know we were ready. Apps went well, but when we received our entrees, our waitress had a very hard time remembering which item went to which person. Apparently, the "numbering system" she said worked well, didn't have quite the success she was looking for. Then, half of them had the wrong sides, and had to be switched. In two cases, it was sandwiches ordered with fries that arrived with chips, and one case of the opposite. One of our party's Cokes was taken, then, assumingly to be refilled. Nope. It was brought back filled with water instead. Finally, once everything at our table was settled, and we were halfway through our food, I heard the waitress taking orders for the other table. Wouldn't you assume she would have done that when we ordered? I would've thought so. In the end, we were full, but disgruntled customers who were just ready to pay and be done. We had to remind our waitress what was on each person's bill, and she handed them out. When she went to give my cousin hers, we were all surprised to see that it had $40 already in it. She was given someone else's PAID bill! So then we had to track her down to get the right one. I understand waiting tables is hard. And again, if it were overly busy I could understand. But this seemed like plain old ignorance on the part of the staff here (not necessarily all of them, as we had one girl come out to answer questions that we liked), and it is unacceptable. I understand gratuity was added because of the large group, but that's no excuse to assume you can give poor service. I came to watch the fights...but the audio was shit, there was a constant buzz during UFC 194. I went to the bar to complain and they said they couldn't do anything about it...I'm a local...but between being understaffed, and the crap audio...guessing I'm going to Bdubs next time. read more

Well they got one star because you can't give less...I've never in my 55 years been treated so poorly in any establishment. The bartender was beyond nasty. Took 16 minutes to get a drink and menu. .I can't say how the food was because I had to go elsewhere to get some. My gosh...what is wrong with the owners of this place. To allow your staff to ruin your business is beyond belief in today's market. I obviously am not a regular here...but they were the only people getting served food or drink here today. All I can say Is WOW! this could be a good place, but as long as the owner let's his daughter and other bartenders & server's do shots on the job, you will fail EVERY time! We watched 2 of them do shots with shaking dice 5 shots within 1 hour! SERIOUSLY? Very low class establishment, even if you don't want to be anything fancy it's just horrible, which explains the service to a T! You should be ashamed of yourselves as owners because you both were there and obviously allow this! Your right off the freeway you could have a gold mine, Friday night and hardly any business, I see why! Rent must be cheap to see that you are still in business, must be your first endeavor in the bar & restraunt business, gives Hudson a bad name, TOTAL dive bar if that's what you looking for, you hit it on the head! I gave it one star because I couldn't give it less. Worst food I have ever had in a restaurant. I ordered the pulled pork which was obviously cooked several days prior. The meat was totally dried out and inedible. My BF ordered the prime rib special and it didn't look like meat. Was kind of a grey color and rubbery and mostly fat. He said the baked potato was obviously microwaved. The band was really good. read more

Great family owned bar! Good food, good atmosphere! They have live music some nights, Thursday nights they grill steaks, they smoke their own brisket and pork!
