***Update*** This review is just a note. Just as much as I rave about Uncle Rico's, I think it's fair to point out when something seems a little off. Stopped in yesterday for my usual pie to go. 1/2 cheese, 1/2 pepperoni. The pepperoni 1/2 seemed a little skimpy compared to what I've come to expect. Maybe it was just an off day or an off pie, but it wasn't as consistent as I'm used to. That said, the service was still on point, and the pizza was . I'm not lowering my rating over one experience. We ordered a pizza online, which showed up wrong and cold and cost us $50 called the store got put on hold for 18 minutes and then was told we had to reach out to another company to get a new pizza sent to us. Some of the best pizza i have had in the south florida area. Their dough is sweet, airy, and crunchy. Their sauce is well balanced, and they used great quality ingredients. When I ordered, someone had ordered like 7 different pizzas and was trying to not pay for them because "they made the pizzas too early," but when that is the person threatening to give this place a bad review, you know the quality is good as a scammer will try to scam and bully to get what they want. My wife and I came here while driving around Ft Myers hungry looking for a place to eat. I must say the pizza was amazing. Pizza was fresh, the pepperoni was crispy and delicious and the cheese and sauce were portioned well. I loved the char taste on the crust and bottom of the pizza. This pizza left us feeling satisfied and full without the guilty bloated feeling you get from some pizza places. The service was non existent. The staff was very busy. I asked for a second Brisk tea and one of the staff members told me ok but he never got around to it. I tried to ask for a box for leftovers however the staff was too busy and didn't notice me. To be fair this place is very small but very busy. There are a lot of customers and I can see why. Overall my wife and I loved it and will come again next time we are in Fort Myers. read more

I don't remember my last review, and I have been to Uncle Rico's a few times. The Sandwich I had, chicken vodka parm was just amazing. but today I grabbed two slices of pizza. One Burrata and one Angry Uncle. As a kid who grew up in NY, a good slice was easy to find. Dripping with orange oil. As the years passed, you knew which places were good and which to avoid. As we grew older those good places were harder to find, then we moved to Florida. Took years to find some good pizza (of all kinds) out there. A few months before we moved to the left coast, we heard of this mythical pizza place in Fort Myers. FORT MYERS PIZZA? how could this be? I had in the past had DHOP, a very good pie by the way. We ordered two pizzas and a calzone, and they managed to get almost everything wrong. The calzone was supposed to have mushrooms but arrived with none, just a pile of cheese. One pizza was ordered with extra mushrooms and vegetables, yet it barely had any toppings. The other pizza was also made incorrectly despite the order notes being very clear. Before ordering, I called to confirm they included complimentary Parmesan, crushed red pepper, and garlic powder. They said yes, and I even added reminders in the order notes. None of it was included. The worst part was the customer service. When I called, the employee didn't apologize once. Instead, she told me, "When we're busy, we don't pay attention to the notes." That's an unbelievable excuse. If you're too busy to read the order, you shouldn't be taking it. She then justified the missing condiments by saying they were complimentary and I didn't pay for them. The food itself was bland and disappointing, but the rude attitude and complete lack of accountability made the experience even worse. Nobody offered to fix the mistakes or make things right. Save your money and go somewhere that actually cares about getting orders right and treating customers with respect. read more

Excellent pizza! First time taste experience. Not one to pass up- as so many have praised Rico's that I was compelled to make the journey across the Caloosahatchee to sample greatness. Worthy. Missing Cape Coral's Leone's unfortunate conclusion, I will have to reroute my travels to find culinary delight. We ordered an eggplant parmigiana hero- soso with lots of cheese. Internal temperature was edible but not hot; flavors were cheesy dominant but the hoagie roll was too much. Our Main course was yet to come, and didn't disappoint. Half Magheretta and half house favorite (one size only) 16" it was hot, balanced with enough olive oil flavor to remind one that this pizza is Italian. The after taste was phenomenal. No scorch, no dominating pepperoni (just enough) with sausage and veggies - just right. Pricing is fair and the staff delivered promptly. With only 4 tables inside there is an endless constant flow of grateful clientele. Come hungry but take it home to enjoy with your favorite adult beverage. Coke products don't cut it. read more

We were on our way to Trader Joe's around 4 in the afternoon when Dave said let's try Uncle Rico's. The restaurant is tiny and located in an unremarkable strip mall on 41. But Uncle Rico's Pizza is Remarkable! Dave ordered me an eggplant parmigiana sandwich which turned out to be huge and enough to share. He then ordered a half special house pizza and half margarita. He likes lots of toppings and meats and I prefer something more traditional. In any case it was very good and we had more than half to bring home. The crust was delicious, thin and crispy. The sauce and toppings were plentiful and left a pleasant taste in your mouth!-as Dave put it. The inside of the restaurant is tiny and there are two tables outside. The parking lot is bustling with cars and people coming in and out. There seems to be a large take out crowd picking up their delicious pizzas! We're so happy and agree that Uncle Rico's Pizza is top notch! read more

This place is a hidden gem in Fort Myers! Great New York style pizza and just overall delicious. We love the angry burrata pizza with hot honey and substitute the pepperoni for chicken. The crust is crispy but soft and their tomato sauce is delicious! It is a small place with very limited seating but the pizza is just so good. Tried the angry burrata first, the crust was perfect , no flop, perfect amount of cheese, and the toppings were superior! The white pizza was really good but after the angry burrata , it didn't compare. We went about 530, it was busy but pizza came out in 20 mins right out of the oven. Stopping by soon after they opened, every table was filled -- granted, they only have a few tables! -- and a line of people waiting for their orders had already formed. "I don't think I'm gonna love this," I said to my husband. Looking around, Rico's crusts appeared crisper than my preference. But we stayed. And I'm glad. I like a pliable crust with ample cheese and the right amount of grease. (Too little and the pie is generally dry.) In the 1970s, "Original Rays" pizza popped up throughout NYC. None of the Rays were affiliated, and all claimed to be the legitimate "original". But it didnt matter. I found the pies to be interchangeable with a signature abundance of cheese and perfect crust. With Rays as my pinnacle, to this day most other pizza falls a bit short. But I like Rico's. The crust is pretty good -- ours WAS foldable! -- and the pepperoni pie we took home hit the spot. Know that if T wrote this review, he'd designate five stars, and for what it's worth, he said he'd travel out of his way to come back. read more

Since moving to FL I've been on the search for the best pizza in the Ft Myers area. I have been hearing all about Uncle Rico's and after having it this past weekend my search has ended. Walking in to the small storefront, you'd never believe the amazing pizza they are pushing out of the kitchen. I ordered three large pizzas, cheese, pepperoni, and a blanco. All 3 were fantastic and even after getting home from picking up they still had a great undercarriage and not a floppy/greasy mess. For dessert I had some tiramisu which was also restaurant or Italian deli quality. Can't wait to go back and support these guys. Now I need them to open a location a little further south! read more

I am saddened to write this review. This place is super sought out and highly spoken about, but I find it to be almost inedible. The pizza, which I understand is cooked "well done", but this is charred... how can you even eat burnt crust? I felt like I was eating cardboard with buffalo sauce on it.
