Love this spot for a pre-dinner drink whenever I'm in town! The staff is so kind and accommodating, and the wine is always delicious.

Great place to just hang and relax. The wine selection was very good; the service was awesome. We came twice in 2 days and both times we just chilled. The 3 tastes for $10 is a great way to go since you can have any 3 of the bottle they offer by the glass. And Wednesday night has $4 glasses (1 red and 1 white) - ostensibly for ladies night but available to all. Very nice. read more

We were recently in the truckee area celebrating my sisters birthday and stumbled upon what we thought was a gem only to be discriminated against. I have been to many wineries and enjoy the experience of tasing different wines but this experience was far from what I expected. When we first walked into the establishment people gazed at us in a weird way and then the bartender took a while to even acknowledge that we were there. Due to our large party we asked if we could put the two unoccupied tables together so that we could sit together. Once we sat ourselves the owner came over to tell us that he wouldn't recommend all of us doing a tasting because they did not have enough glasses. How are you a winery without more than enough glasses? We should have left at that point but we stayed and a few ladies either had a glass or a tasting but the service was very unwelcoming and I would not recommend this place if you are used to great hospitality because they did not provide that at all. We are an educated group of women of color and I have always been able to be amongst a mixed crowd but I felt very discriminated against that day and I have never in my life felt the way I felt that day when we walked into Uncorked. We have to do better as a race of people as we are all the same. read more

Stopped tonight after 13 mile hike 15 min before they closed. Very welcoming, got a wonderful French Chablis recommended by staff. Had a glass and took rest home to have with dinner. Will be back for sure. Great decor. Selection if you are a wine drinker, the best within many miles! read more

Went to Bluesday at Palisades and had seen advertising for Uncorked's Bluesday specials. $8 wines, $4 beers and $10 charcuterie plates. We went in and ordered 2 glasses of wine and charcuterie plates and specifically asked about taking this back to concert area. The woman then mentioned to someone else that the specials were only 2 wines, they had already run out of the beer special and the plates were were much smaller. We received 2 cups of wine - about 3 oz pours and 2 charcuterie plates. 3 small portions of cheese, a cornichon, about 6 slices of a salami - no crackers, bread, etc. The woman seemed surprised when we asked if there were bread and crackers and brought out 6 crackers to share between the 2 orders. When asked about all this the response was " you've already paid." We wound up with 2 wines and 2 plates for $94. Will never patronize this place again. read more

Uncorked has been a perfect Apres ski spot for us since it opened up. Great atmosphere, helpful staff and and an interesting wine selection. These guys do a good job keeping the tastings fresh by finding wines that are totally different from typical California wines. That's one of the big reasons that I like them. My recommendation is order a flight with some cheese, sit back, relax and find your new favorite wine. read more

I absolutely love the space, music, atmosphere, attention to wine selection, and education of the staff here. Despite my later negative comment, I will definitely be back (at least once or twice to check for improvements). I love the wine flight/sampler and think the blind tasting is a great idea. Not sure if you have a specific day you push the blind tasting, but if I was challenged as part of my greeting, I would probably buy it every time. My main complaint is that I have been there a couple times, sat in the back and received minimal to zero attention. This includes sitting with an empty glass for more than 5 minutes on a slow day. I have run restaurants and paying attention to the guest is 75% of the job. Just say "hi" or "you ready for you next one?", not that difficult. I would have spent (literally) twice as much as I did if someone had come by. I have a great patio at home and can buy a $30 bottle and chill there or spend it at your joint...and the deciding factor is if someone will say "hi". Make it happen. read more

This place has great vibes and wine. It's almost like a coffee shop with wine. They don't have a huge selection of wines by the glass, but the ones they do are great. I was walking through old town Truckee and was pleasantly surprised to stumble across this jewel of a tasting room. The décor is contemporary, yet holds true to the small old town charm of Truckee. I took a seat at the bar and was welcomed by both people behind the bar with big smiles and "hello's". These folks know their wines, what to pair them with, and how to create a great environment for an awesome experience. What was going to be a 20 minute stop for a glass of wine, turned into an afternoon of tasting EXCELLENT wines while chatting with the staff and fellow customers. No matter where in the world you come from or why you're in Truckee, you can get GREAT wines from all over the world, as well as some local boutique wineries from all over the state of California. In fact, the day I was there, they had a guest Winemaker from Napa. Nicely done guys, this will be a regular stop! read more

Love this place! We stopped in to do a tasting before dinner at Cottonwood and it was the perfect way to start the night. There were 4 of us and we each did a tasting. You can try 3 wines for $10, great deal and generous pours. We also had the cheese plate which was delicious. This place serve mediocre at best wines - the servers are clueless and do not have an idea about any of the wines they serve. There are very few wines worthy of tasting. This is a rad little wine bar right in the middle of downtown Truckee. We stopped in during a blizzard and had a few glasses of wine. The bartender was really sweet and helpful and chatted with us for a while. We didn't order a meal, but our bartender made us a cheese and sausage plate to snack on. The wines we tried were all good and our bill at the end was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in Truckee. read more

CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS! My husband come to (or used to) every year while on vacation in Lake Tahoe, we have never had a problem until now. On Thursday of last week we came in for two tastings and then chose to have a glass from the wines we had tasted....or so we thought... our tasting started off with the woman we are used to seeing here and then another man stepped in and asked "what can I get for you next" and we told him the last wines we wanted on our tasting. He poured mine and it looked like a tasting amount, and then said he would get me some more and muttered something I couldn't make out-- he poured an amount more (I thought he may just be finishing the bottle or something) and I drank, we then chose the wine we wanted a full glass of and got them, drank and got our bill. Here comes the issue. You see the male server had made the assumption we wanted a full glass when we were actually asking for our last tasting (the third of three) but as it happens only the woman knew we were doing a tasting. So we were charged for a tasting (2/3 of a tasting I suppose) and two glasses of wine each. When I brought this to the attention of the male server he became upset and angry insisted that he had pored us full glasses and to which I was trying to explain how we did not know that, when he picked up the glass he had served me and shook it in my face making a huge scene, raising his voice and saying "see I poured it in this glass!" I then realized where he came in and how he misunderstood the request we had made-- I stayed calm and collected and tried to explain further. The female server came over and immediately recognized the issue and gave us a new bill which reflected the correct amount. Point is to make sure your bills are correct. I would also like to say that I feel it was inappropriate for a server to speak to a patron in the way he did. We will never come back here nor will I ever recommend this establishment to anyone! read more

Visiting Truckee from out of town, I wanted a few bottles of wine for a dinner party and didn't want to drive far. I was immediately greeted as I entered, by someone who was not only pleasant, but interested in helping. I let the clerk know that I was looking for two bottles of wine in a price range. She took the time to ask more about my preference and pointed to a few bottles that were open for tasting along with a few others. I ended buying four bottles on her recommendation. I enjoyed my time here, tasting wine, discussing varietals and perusing new labels. The clerk took what would have been a bland task and turned it into an experience. What a great and unexpected find this place turned out to be! This was our first time to Truckee and we were looking for another spot to do some wine tasting after stopping at the winery up the street. We stopped in here because of the great reviews, and they are certainly well earned. First of all the ambiance and decor in this place is really beautiful, relaxing, rustic and modern. Our bartender was so helpful and made great suggestions and conversation. The wine selection is really good, the ambiance is relaxing and the environment is good for conversation. A lovely shop in the cutest town ever, with a fireplace to stand by and get warm. While I'm not sure they offer many of their best wines by the glass (we tasted I think 6 with one 3-taste flight each and only one of the wines would I buy), they do have a lovely array, especially for a town of only 20,000 people. Owner Kali is a serious wine guru, and seems to always find the best drop of vino on the market - you won't find many supermarket brands here, but everything you taste will be GOOD. We went to Downtown Truckee Thursday evening and 'stopped' in on a whim. Actually, I am not a big wine person but my two friends are. What a blast we had!! Morgan was an absolute treasure and joy! She was incredibly informative, not only to me (the non-wine connoisseur), but to my friends also. I cannot even express what an incredible time we had here, sampling wines and being educated by Morgan. She was just a pleasure to interact with. We all walked out buying a bottle or two! Great place to enjoy a peaceful glass of quality wine in Truckee. This place is part of my "must stops" when up in the Tahoe area. Great wine list and a good artisnal cheese plate (note to owner: please offer some gluten free bread/cracker options). You can get a flight of three wines for $10 or purchase by the glass. They have a good selection of CA wines and some very interesting Old World options as well. The staff is wonderful and pretty knowledgeable about the wines.
