The Fairburn location had the time slot I wanted so I went. To note, though you can book a time online, it's not an actual appointment. It's done to help maintain order and keep the flow of things moving. Once I arrived, I checked in at the front desk, paid my copay and had a seat. The young lady behind the desk was very even toned. She got me checked in and I had a seat. At the time of my arrival, there were 3 people in front of me. After a quick 30-40 minute wait, I was called to the back. The young lady who took my vitals was very upbeat and pleasant. Though I wasn't feeling good, her attention to service made me smile and was a great representation of the Piedmont brand. After taking my vitals and getting all the prelim done she took me to my room and advised the doctor would be with me shortly. Dr. Wendy arrived within minutes. She knocked on the door and once I authorized she entered. From the moment she walked in she was upbeat, compassionate and all smiles. Her bedside manner was beyond amazing. She provided a level of care that not only made me feel at ease as a patient, however, I felt valued as a person and as though Dr. Wendy wasn't just processing me as a number but as a person in need. She used my name. She took time to understand my concerns. She didn't rush me through anything. She talked through all areas with me. She let me know what she was doing and what the next steps would be. Her ability to engage with me as a patient was as if she was my PCP. Though I was at Urgent Care, the level of care, service, compassion, and attention was far beyond any other Urgent Care I have ever visited. From getting to the back area to being discharged I was there for about 45 minutes. None of my time felt wasted nor did I feel anyone had forgotten about me. The team was amazing and Dr. Wendy was truly stellar. A great representation of the Piedmont Brand and a Standard of Excellence for the Care of a Patient.

Have you ever heard the saying, "Buyer Beware"? Well in this case, "Patient Beware". I took my 5…read moreyear old son here on Tuesday to get stitches for a cut on his chin. Mind you, this is a "Family Care Center". Can you say "NO BEDSIDE MANNER"!!!!!! My son was traumatized! What family care center doesn't have alternatives to giving a five year old Lidocaine shots? This clinic. The only option they practice is, stick your child until he's numb....I kid you not. My son received 6-8 shots...Honestly, I lost track of actually how many because it took three office assistance to hold him down. Clearly, I was distracted. After one of the "trained professionals" attempted to lay across his chest to restrain him....My son screams out "I can't breath!!! I asked for a "time out" which clearly upset the doctor prompting her to ask me if I was unhappy with the way she was handling the situation. Duh...well yes. To add insult to injury, once the doctor thought the area was numb enough for sutures, she attempts to test the area by touching his face with scissors. He told her that he felt pain when she touched him. Instead of her giving more Lidocaine, she went in with the suture needle and he almost jumped off the table in pain. The doctor was shaking so badly that I'm not sure if he truly needed 6 stitches or if she couldn't sew straight...being so nervous. The only way she was able to finish was with the assistance of my husband. Once she did finish, she rambled off some instructions verbally, then left the room. We literally had to ask office assistants how to exit the building. We left the office with no printed follow up instructions, no signs/symptoms to look for...fever....etc. You know the normal things that doctors give you...something written to refer to in case of infection, etc. The only thing I had in writing was my receipt...for the payment they took in advance before the even examine my son...Trust me, do not subject yourself or your family members to the possibility of having an experience like this one. School doesn't teach you everything. I am sure my son will be even more afraid of needles for the rest of his life.

I was told I could walk in & get a flu shot without an appointment. Nope - you have to call a # to register yourself as a patient. And they will not register you while you're standing right there. I called, registered, came back. Oh, apparently staff leaves at 3pm on Fridays. Perhaps your hours of operation should reflect that bc the person on the phone told me to come on in. Make this your last choice if you have to use Grady outside of their trauma center. Front desk staff genuinely doesn't GAF to actually communicate properly. It shouldn't be this hard to get a flu shot.

This location is not my normal doctors office but they had an opening so I took it. The building is spacious, light, modern and fresh. It has a lot of sleek and modern features. It has more than one waiting area with comfortable seating. Their was virtually no one in the waiting room other than myself. You can check on using a kiosk or at the front desk. They had two associates at the desk who presented a smile and was polite and cheerful. I didn't have to wait as they called me within 5 minutes. I was sent by Nurse Practitioner Tiffany Hamilton. She was very professional, acted like she cared and expressed empathy when she saw my pain and distress and advises me on what caused it and how to resolve it. She also a sent a message to my PCP to contact me for further review of my situation. I appreciated that. I couldn't walk and she got me a wheelchair to go to the lab. The lab department was professional as well drawing blood quickly with as less pain as possible. This was a great experience and I appreciated their being quick.

MMy 18 year old son needed a sports physical for college. He completed the medical questionnaire honestly so when asked if he ever smoked marijuana or drank alcohol, he answered "Yes". He was told by Tawana Pringle that she had never smoked marijuana and thought it was a gateway drug. As an athlete, my son has done extensive research about marijuana. So they had a brief, cordial banter about marijuana. She then proceeded to tell him that she could not give him a physical. When he got home and told me what happened I tried to call to speak with her but was told Piedmont QuickCare is not affiliated with Walgreens so they can't provide me with a phone #. I went there and spoke with Tawana and was told that she called the "higher ups" and they told her that shd could deny him a physical. She handed me a brochure to call and complain to customer service, which I did. Today, in the mail, I received a BILL for a sports physical. My insurance company was billed for a physical that was never performed! I am LIVID! I do not recommend Piedmont QuickCare to ANYONE!

I was able to get someone on the phone and make an appointment the very next day with no problem. I made the mistake of making too many appointments in one day and they started to overlap. I called to let them know I would be running late, I was informed that they have a 15 min grace period but I couldn't make that time either. I was sooo stressed, this would be my daughters first appointment and didn't want to miss it. The receptionist, I believe her name was either Diane or Denise. She was amazing, she heard my frustration and gave me another time slot for that day. I was so grateful and thankful for that. I'm sure someone else or another location would have made me reschedule. So, we get there and the office is nice and cozy, very kid friendly! I was given an electronic device to put my information in, instead of pen and paper. It took me a minute but I discovered the process was pretty cool, no way could there be any confusion with handwriting. We get to the back and the nurse is very friendly. She was aware that my baby would need some blood drawn and immediately gives her a warmer for her foot, this is to help with circulation and to get the blood quickly. I appreciated that. I did not care for having to undress my baby and walk to the other side of the building for her to get weighed, it seemed weird. It was the front of the building and the blinds were open so I could see out into the parking lot. We didn't have to wait a long time for Dr. Drayton, she was patient and pleasant. We were in and out with no problems. My concern was upon leaving, there was a young woman on the phone at the front desk, clearly the convo was a personal one. This was my first time so I was not aware of the checkout process..... did they need a co-pay, another visit, etc. I waited a moment, clearly she sees and hears me with a carrier and baby bag ready to exit. I have to say, excuse me, I'm not aware of the check out process. She quickly gets off the phone to assist. She had to ask someone else what I needed to do. No payment and we set up another appointment. Do you have it or you need a card to remind you. Give me a card please. I'm thinking, I have a week old baby and I'm sleep deprived, that should have went without saying....... needless to say, before I could put my coat on, she was back to that personal call.
