Would not recommend! We strolled in Saturday afternoon, they weren't that busy yet somehow the bar staff was behind. The waitress seemed annoyed that we were there. I ordered a lemonade. It was the most sour undrinkable thing ever. She even "added more simple syrup" but that didn't help at all. The food was mid at best. The nachos had WAY too much cheese, which is not something I would complain about but this just looked gross. 2 of our party had the kolsch beer and they said it tasted nothing like a kolsch. We had friends who went there later in the day a few hours later and they sat there for over 15 minutes and had no service so they left. Overall disappointed. read more

This was a pitstop on our way to the wineries near Paonia, and it was wonderful. First, it is dog friendly; while you won't be able to take your four legged buddy inside, there is a huge covered patio with plenty of heavy tables to leash your dog up, and also the team will come out to you! Second, for the price, the quantity of food is fantastic; I grabbed the mac and cheese with pulled pork, and was stunned that the pork was almost half the dish. I highly recommend just on the above two items, but frankly the service (sweet, excellent, attentive) and selection of booze (beers and more!) put this spot over the top. If you're looking for good food, professional service, or a fun atmosphere, do not bring your business to this place. Our server, Victor, was unprofessional, disparaging, angry, and aggressive. When I arrived to the restaurant, I was carrying a bag with a drink I had purchased to bring home to my husband. I sat down at a table with friends, and before I was greeted, given a menu, or even fully seated in my chair, Victor charged the table, and without a word, ripped my bag from my hands and threw it in the garbage. He proceeded to come back to the table to threaten me and yell that I was an idiot for bringing an outside drink to a brewery. I explained that I was bringing the drink home, and it wasn't open, nor was it out of its bag. He raised his voice even louder and threatened to kick me out for "taking money out of his pocket." I asked why he didn't check with me first to make sure I wasn't drinking it, and he again, told me I was an idiot. Victor is the type of person who destroys customer loyalty, betrays our small town community by verbally assaulting customers (but didn't yell at the man at the table next to me who was drinking a beer he purchased from the liquor store!), and ensures that a local business gets a bad reputation because he has no self control. I will be sure to steer business away from this place to ensure this doesn't happen to more people. Victor is a liability. read more

Food: Beer was good, and the talented bartender, made me an excellent bourbon concoction. I had the Fish sandwich (5/5) and the hub had the brewben that he rated 4/5. He was wishing for a bit more Coles slaw. The fries were very good, and we were impresses by the generous amount & variety of sauces that really pushed the meal to a 5 for me. One of the staff has created a "scorpion" sauce with hints of melon. It was so sun shiny bright & tasty with the savory fries. Portions were very generous. Ambiance: I was told that the owner had commissioned a Chicago artist to paint the chalk colored murals, and they were really very beautiful. I loved the artwork. There was outside dining with fun plants & twinkly lights , but we ate inside. Chilly weather. Customer Service: Absolutely wonderful. The staff was really friendly & explained the menu, the art & how they made the sauces. Not much has changed int he last 10 years since I was last a CBW. the brews were tasty and delicious. The ambiance is fun. The outdoor patio was well shaded and there was plenty of seating. Service was friendly. We ordered some pretzels and a steak. Would definitely skip the steak it was a sad little piece of meat that would do better in a sandwich. There were also random sauce accompaniment for the dish. The fries has mustard and ketchup on too, random salsa in the middle, and steak covered in a sauce. The pretzel and beer cheese were fine. Found this local brewery and it did not disappoint. Got there during their everyday happy hour from 4-6pm. We're just going to have a couple beers, which we did, but the food options looked too good to pass up. We ordered wings and fries with magic dust. The wings were tender and flavorful. Great little brewery in Carbondale! Not many of their own beers on tap (maybe 4) but plenty of guest taps. On the plus side..they do serve food! From nachos, burgers, chicken and salads. We went at a time where they were busier than usual (according to Google) but felt comfortable. They did only have 2 servers and we weren't attended to very often. Had to go order inside for our food and drinks while other tables were being helped. No biggie but definitely could have been a bit better. Carbondale Beer Works is a brewery, but their menu has way more than just beers on there. There is a food menu, and the menu actually has a few different vegetarian and vegan options. Also, gluten-free bread is available as a substitute for the burgers and sandwiches. The alcohol menu consists of beer, wine, cocktails, and a lot of whiskey. In fact, there are more whiskey options than beer options. My boyfriend and I came here for happy hour a while back. We got a beer flight, the mac daddy with chicken and kale, and the smash chicken tacos. Everything was good, and the food portions were a little heartier than we had expected. We had a good time, and we also got to enjoy part of a sports game that was on TV since we were seated inside. Carbondale Beer Works is a good place to hang out at. The menu has ample options for both alcohol and food. Outdoor seating is available, but indoor seating is where you can catch a sports game. The staff is nice, and the happy hour deals are decent. Happy hour is daily from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. and features $1 to $2 off of drinks and $2 off of select food times. Found this restaurant via bringfido.com; because we had our dogs with us. Dogs are allowed on the spacious patio which has a large covered section. Seating is far enough apart for our dogs to not be too close to other dogs (our rescues are a bit skittish so in dog friendly places, we keep them in "down stay" close to us). There is a "sports" type water cooler dispenser and glasses on the patio to get cold water for yourself and your dogs. We were there for a late lunch on a Friday. Friendly staff. We met: The brewmaster, who was also our wait person. The owner, who was unpacking food delivery. The chef, who personally delivered our food, and then helped unpack food delivery. [Keep the above in mind: As in many places these days, to no fault of their own, a few people are doing all the work. Give them grace. We weren't in a hurry and we enjoyed our time on their patio.] I had the Blackened Salmon Plate. Comes with a Side Salad. LOOK at the Pic: the "Side Salad" description on the menu does not do justice to this lovely salad. Probably the best "side salad" I have ever had. The salmon's blackening spices and balsamic reduction = delicious. Perfect size of salmon. Dollop of tasty avocado salsa = guac. I don't eat much cheese, but the dollop of goat cheese was perfect to add here and there to the salmon/salad. I like that the guac and goat cheese did not cover the salmon, so that I could add as much of either as I liked to each bite. Hubby had the Pulled Pork Sandwich. He said it was flavorful, sweet (not spicy), lightly toasted bun, just the right amount of coleslaw on the sandwich. The coleslaw was NOT drenched in coleslaw dressing! His plate included a side of extra coleslaw, which is not mentioned on the menu. He enjoyed that. Hubby had their Yo Bro! Porter. Nice Smooth flavor, hint of chocolate and perhaps coffee. After having visited on several occasions, the service was consistently better with great service at the bar. I also have fallen in love with eating on their patio! I would recommend the rueben if you are simply in Carbondale and you in the mood for a rueben. Know there is a better one out there and this is simply brewery food coupled with a good beer in a carefree atmosphere. My experience was this vibe was cozy and cool and they will treat you like the golden rule "do onto others how you too want to be treated" be cool, they cool. Be nice they nice. I enjoyed it here. Four of us stopped here for a drink on a hot day. There's a roomy outdoor patio that was nice and shady. Two beers and two Palomas were ordered, and the bill totaled $26 before tax and tip. Not bad. Waitress slammed down a menu for a table of five: "Here you go" and never returned despite our asking the other waitress helping her manage the experiences of around 15 customers in the room. We waited at least fifteen minutes to be recognized. One waitress promised to send the other waitress over to our table, the only one hosting guests on our side of a small taproom. She never came, so the other girl took over. She admitted she doesn't drink beer and knows nothing about hops like Citra. One person's "Sprite" arrived as club soda. Zero efforts at eye contact, offering water during our menu perusal, or basic kindness. She did complain about the recent festival casting busyness at this taproom. This was early evening on a slow Tuesday. My advice would be to hire people who like other people and beer. This experience ruined much of our evening and embarrassed our local hosts. read more

They changed one of the TVs so we could watch the NBA All Star game. There is a great beer selection and we tasted multiple (spoiler, all were delicious, we would have been happy with any of them). I was delighted to see the menu offered many vegetarian options, including the Impossible Burger!!! The impossible burger was actually an ingredient in their own veggie twist on street dumplings. My only wish is the dumplings came with more sauce. My boyfriend got the brewben and said it was delicious, so I stole a bite. DAMN. That was amazing.
