I went to my corner restaurant "Chuck's" to get their happy hour $8 burger and fries, and $4 beer. They bought the corner chain restaurant that went under at corner of Glenn McConnell and Magwood. I've been there three times. Food was just ok, except for burgers and fries. Used to be very good. I've tried several other things but have been disappointed. The swordfish I tried, was the worst I've ever had. With their happy-hour smash burger, they give you a sauce, that's like tomato-honey mustard. Like a crab cake sauce. Never had a burger in my life that was served with crab cake sauce... I don't care for it. I asked them to hold the sauce and swap it with extra cheese. They did. They charged me $2.00 for the cheese. Unbelievable! I don't even think it was real cheese. I decided to talk to manager about it. She took it off - but argued with me - over a cheese slice on a happy-hour meal... I get that it cost something. I would have been ok with 50 cents. Eating at a restaurant requires 20% tipping and prices are raised everywhere. Most also charge a credit card fee. I rarely eat out, due to high prices. And in many cases lower quality food is used to keep prices lower. The burger I had was not even tasty. Not like the ones I had previously. Plus, I noticed they took down their previous happy hour menus from the bar. This place is 20% full every time I've gone in. The first time I went in the bartender bought me a beer. This time an argument over a cheese slice. Seriously? What's next? limits on the salt and pepper? One shake per customer? This is an eat-in bar/restaurant that boasts of good prices. It's not McDonald's. And even they wouldn't charge $2.00 a slice. Clearly they don't value me as a customer- not going back. No thanks, keep your cheese, Chuck! read more

We arrived on a Saturday night around 7 and were seated right away. Our server arrived within 5 minutes and she was very friendly and attentive. We ordered drinks and they were brought to us within a few minutes. I ordered a beer and my wife ordered a Mango Mai Tai. She really enjoyed that cocktail. Popcorn was brought to us and I don't remember ever having popcorn brought to the table like some places bring bread, chips and salsa, etc. interesting. My wife and I split the chargrilled meatloaf sandwich on Texas toast with fries. Our son ordered the Bodacious Bourbon Burger with fries. Our food arrived in less than 10 minutes. Everything was hot and fresh. The meatloaf sandwich with onion straws was delicious. Hot and tasty. Not a huge fan of shoestring fries but they were also hot and fresh. Our son loved his burger but it is a messy meal. Service was fantastic and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Lots of TV'S so I could watch the Braves game while eating. Came in with the kids today. Very decent place, a small franchise, similar to an Applebees or a Chili's in terms of being fast casual. Emphasis on burgers with some wings and entrees. Our server Alee was friendly and good came out fast. I like the shoestring fries but those are always a gamble because they are hard to get right but they were good. My Southwest Burger was fine too, kids had Smashburgrrs which were fine. Overall everything tasted good, nothing was wrong, and the price was very fair. Great new sports pub in West Ashley! Came here to watch some football with friends and sat at bar. We split the Smashburger and the Korean barbecue both were so yummy! The server recommended the old bay aïoli and will be added to my default order from now on. You can choose between shoe string fries, or waffle fries, and both were delicious. They have a wonderful happy hour with cheap wing options which I will definitely be coming back for. The food comes out very quickly and no lack of servers around. They have tons of TVs so plenty of viewing options if you're a sports fan. The parking lot is behind the Lowe's so a little weird coming in but plenty of parking options. read more

We had a wonderful lunch here. Valerie was our server and she was super attentive and very patience as it was our first time visiting. The appetizer sampler was yummy. The aioli sauce with the cheese curbs was so savory. The buffalo sauce for the wings was also on point. The burger was good, but I do feel the sauce they had on the burger is what made the sandwich yummy and the shoestring fries were cold. However, the sweet flakes fries were really fresh, great texture, and completely delicious. The second time eating from this restaurant was not a charm, and there will not be a third attempt. .My previous review was a three star, which was generous because we had a nice server. This time we ordered through a delivery service and there's really not anything good to say about the food. The burgers were small, cold, and tasteless. The fries were similarly bad. One could question whether that was a restaurant fault or the delivery service, I understand; however, the lack of flavor mirrored our first experience that was in person. The restaurant was quick to accept our order and our payment, but did not fulfill their part of the bargain to give us quality food. We were hopeful for a new West Ashley restaurant that would be great, but it's not this place. read more

I am so glad this new restaurant is here, it is definitely a solid option to watch sports with lots of TVs around the restaurant!! Service here is fantastic from the hostess to the bartenders and wait staff, everyone here are very friendly and knowledgeable!! The food is amazing with a compact Menu it has variety with concise choices very smart for restaurant only been open since November 2025! Came here for the first time, great sports bar in the west ash neighborhood. Love that they give you popcorn. The smash burger and Korean bbq chicken sandwich were great. I don't usually like shoestring fries but these were like crack. So addicting. The sauce that comes with the sweet potato waffle fries 10/10 also the old bay aïoli was great. Service was solid. What a nice addition to West Ashley. This spot has great casual food and delicious salads. The chicken and Brussels salad was honestly so so good. Servers and staff along with management were great. This used to be an O'Charlie's across from Roper St. Francis, and now it's a new bar/grill. We were driving by and hungry so decided to give it a try. It's a cute neighborhood bar and grill. They give u popcorn when you sit down. They have a pretty good drink selection. The menu is what you would typically expect...burgers, wings, appetizers, and a few meals. The food was good. My husband had a burger and said it was good and very juicy. I had the grouper sandwich which was very tasty..had an old bay mayo on it which was great. Prices are reasonable. We tried Underground Chucks for the 1st time tonight and really enjoyed everything! Our server, ZAC, was very friendly and knew the menu well. We ate burgers and I have to say the $7 happy hour burger with shoestring fries lands in my top 5 best! The Paloma cocktail was very good too. We will definitely be back. Very clean. Bad experience. Waitress was great. Ordering food, waited along while and when brought to the table both orders were wrong. Again waited and finally waitress came and was obviously frustrated with the kitchen. Manager came over, apologized and reordered with the kitchen . Waited awhile and manager brought drinks. Nice place with good food. I definitely recommend the Bavarian pretzel! The popcorn on the table is a nice touch. The service is friendly, fast and attentive. The drinks are good, well made and not watered down or weak. The atmosphere is similar to a Tommy's Tavern and Tap. If I have one criticism, it's listed as a sports bar, but it really isn't. There wasn't anyone there really watching the game (it's more fun to watch with others) and it closes pretty early. On Thursday night, they closed at halftime. read more

So first interaction wasn't the best as the hotness had a sour puss look and got worse when we asked to be moved away from the bar area due to the noise. Thankfully we got a great server named Ebony. Super friendly. Wife had wings and grouper burger and I had the pretzel and potato skins. Grouper was very tasty according to the misses. Wings were good. That brings me to the pretzel. Stopped in one afternoon with my wife while on vacation and visiting Charleston had wings and few drafts. Not bad place so we decided to watch the super bowl game the following Sunday got there we thought it was closed! Went in sat at the bar and asked for a draft guy bartender said the drafts were"down" so I got can of cider drank it but did not care for it asked for a sour on draft thinking it was now working bartender popped off how he told me it was down! I didn't know it was not repaired and going to be down all night! Bartender and waitress kept bitching out loud about another staff member we wanted more drinks and to order food but they were to busy trashing each other. Finally got food ordered I was served fish tacos with a small piece of something like a fish stick no cabbage and a chunk of avocado so hard and under ripe I couldn't believe it was served. Hands down the worst fish tacos I have ever been served chips and salsa served as a side were good . Waiting again for our next drink but never was asked place still almost a goast town not busy just bad service. I have never sat at the bar and not been able to get a drink . Finally asked for our bill because we couldn't get a drink the bartender pointed to a glass with a slip in it and said "it's been sitting there!" My wife told him so was her empty beer glass!! Handed our cc to him for a $55 bill he ran it it came back to us as $125.00 somehow a mistake no big deal we pointed it out he grumbled something about the waitress messing it up and fixed it but no mention of being sorry for the inconvenience! We had a Bar Pretzel, Sunny Up Burger and the Southwest Burger, all were great, with the exception of the Shoestring fries; we tried them with Cheese and Bacon. First the Fries themselves were a bit soggy, but the Cheese/ Bacon was a waste, barely any of either and they charge you separately for both, so $4.00 for basically a sprinkle of bacon bits and a few shreads of cheese. read more

Super disappointed in the downgrade from O'Charley's. The sirloin was more expensive for a smaller portion. Burnt, bland and so dry even at medium rare with no seasoning or marinade. The former O'Charley's steak was so delicious and buttery. The sides were blah too. And no free rolls that were just so delicious. So more money for less food that isn't as good. They have been open for 2 weeks and managers galore around here. But damn the service was horrible. Sat at the bar at 3:30pm and the only good service was from the managers that were there as support! The bartender Will - absolutely horrible. Asked us if we wanted drinks - never got them. The managers got them for us because he got sidetracked. Then he asked again about us ordering food and again got sidetracked and we walked out. Paid our $72 bill. But they had 3 bartenders there at all times but they all sucked!!! read more
