We were visiting Shem Creek and wanted to have lunch. The Perch caught my eye. It is off of Coleman Blvd. There is plenty of parking. It is a casual restaurant that is outdoors with a tent type roof over head. It has a fun tropical vibe. The menu offers fresh fish inspired dishes, fresh salads and starters. They also offer a full bar. I had the grouper tacos. You get 3 tacos with lots of grilled grouper, cabbage, purple onion, tomatoes, cilantro and aoli sauce. They were the best tacos I've ever had. Mallory was our waitress and she was very attentive and friendly. She told us that The Perch has been in business for 2 years. I recommend The Perch for a casual vibe and great food!

Had a great experience at The Perch restaurant! I ordered the Grouper tacos and they were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was casual, relaxing, and made for a very enjoyable meal. They have a dully stocked bar with all your favorites. Mallory provided friendly and excellent service throughout our visit and really made us feel welcome. I highly recommend The Perch and will definitely be coming back again!

Really like this cute little place! We would come.more often if they could add a bit to the menu. Happy hour is great! We sit at the bar - the regulars bartender is good, last time it was not her and she was not that good. Dog friendly!

We stopped in for some drinks and snack before dinner and opted for the Middleton and the Ticket to paradise (made with vodka) and a cheese board the snack on. The service was on point and the bartender was killing it at the bar - multitasking making 3 drinks all at once. It was super impressive and I took a few videos of him. I'm giving 4 stars because the first cocktail I ordered was SO SWEET that I couldn't get it down. I tried to drink it but had to send it back. We asked when we ordered about the flavor profile and supposedly it wasn't sweet, but all 3 of us agreed it was way oversweet. My black manhattan was phenomenal and my husband had a mocktail moscow mule that was awesome. Overall, I'd come back again - just be mindful of the ingredients in the drink and modifying as needed for sweetness. Make a reservation if you can!

Starting dinner off right with some deliciously fresh raw oysters complete with a traditional "onion" mignonette, and then Chef Eric brought out a little special treat....the base was fresh lump crab meat topped with some chunked watermelon and the most light, fresh, delicious dressing & crunch. WOW. I could eat that all summer. Moving onto the main courses, a perfectly cooked NY strip & root veggies with a love boat of fresh sauces. Chimi, steak butter, and a horseradish crema. As if the steak needed any sauce, but with that trifecta?? I couldn't help myself. Incredible. The other entree, a risotto and shrimp. Incredibly flavorful, complete with crisp English peas. As I write this, I wish I had another plateful. The bartender is the Chef's little lady, & she was a GEM! I cannot remember her name, but she goes to estate sales, and thrifts the beautiful dishes and glassware that they use in the restaurant, which I thought was so neat! These two truly have put their heart and soul into this little place and you can tell. The menu is of a smaller variety, but variety for sure. Chef Eric changes the menu up daily/weekly, so you never know what you may get, and I think that is honestly one of the best parts about this place. You can tell they care, from the food to the atmosphere they have created. This one deserves all the 5 stars.

Took us too long to discover. I actually appreciate they have a daily menu that offers plenty of starters and entrees. We enjoyed the oysters on the half shell, and wonderful beet salad. But the entrees impressed us with both presentation and taste. I had the seafood stew, and my husband had the rigatoni with duck ragu. My surprise selight was a zinfadel wine that was both smooth and tasty. We arrived early and the place filled up, on a Wednesday night too. By the time we left the bar was packed with five couples seated around just enjoying their food and conversation. We appreciated the service, as there was just one server, but she was skilled at handling multiple tables and made us feel welcome. The Shellmore is a hidden gem worth checking out.

We sat inside late afternoon and loved the atmosphere. We started with the Pineapple Martini and the T&T Martini (olive oil washed vodka, vermouth & blue cheese stuffed olives). Both were completely different but equally delicious! For dinner, my sister had the Brisket Mac & Cheese and I ordered the Shrimp & Grits. Both dishes were absolutely awesome. Everything was so flavorful that no extra salt or pepper was needed. The shrimp & grits had the perfect spicy kick -- seriously delicious. We skipped dessert, but the highlight afterward was spotting a dolphin swimming through the channel. Such a perfect ending to a really enjoyable meal. Definitely recommend! Our waitress was friendly, brought our drinks quickly and took our orders. We specifically requested apps and dinner not be on top of each other. As we were finishing our apps a waiter/ busboy came with meals. I asked, "Could you clear these dirty plates?" " Not with my hands full" l was told. So our dirty plates, silverware, left over food and dirty table now also held our meals. Yuck! Food wise there were many nice choices and the restaurant was beautiful. Service wise l can do without a smug kid who doesn't understand how to do his job. The place was not busy and if our experience is typical of their service l can understand why.

It sets the tone immediately, and the festive energy carries straight through the meal. We kicked things off with Bloody Marys and a Morning Fog -- simple, classic, and done right. For starters, we shared the Hula Hoisin Wings. They were definitely on the heavier side with the hoisin, but still absolutely delicious. The Mistletoe Mango Tuna Poke Tacos were a standout. They come as a small plate with three appetizer-sized tacos, and every bite was bright, fresh, and beautifully balanced. The Buddy the Elf Burger offers a choice of a single or double patty; ours was cooked perfectly. The smoky bacon really brought everything together and gave it that extra "wow" factor. We rounded things out with the O Come, All Ye Fried Rice with Hanger Steak, which was another winner -- perfectly cooked, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. As if the meal wasn't great enough on its own, we happened to be there while Emily Curtis was performing. She's truly incredible and added such a fun, memorable vibe to the day. I'd be remiss not to mention Kevin our server. Go see him. He was great. The whole team works great together. Don't let the bar-like atmosphere fool you -- Prohibition is far from your typical bar food or bar scene. There's a great space in the back, and the elevated menu makes it absolutely worth the visit.
