We were looking for a quick bite while our cruise ship landed in Victoria BC. It was a short walk from the main area. You can tell this city is very diverse and lovely. The servers were friendly and welcoming ... it was kind a bit slow but that's fine The water pitchers they had were pretty cool that I saw for larger parties. Food - the salmon was very goooood. Our roll was delicious. I recommend it if you're undecided on where to go for some Asian food.

Was on a cruise ship that docked in Victoria, Canada. My sister and I were looking for some fresh Japanese food. This place did not disappoint! We read the reviews and made our walk to downtown to try the delicious fresh sashimi and sushi. The staff is very kind, efficient, and helpful. The ambience here is a nice place for a fancy meal. The fresh Victoria, salmon and sashimi was the best I've ever tasted in my life! Most likely because it is so fresh. I recommend anybody who's visiting here to try it. Pretty sure the locals probably love it too.

Outstanding dining experience. The dining room was warm and welcoming along with the great hospitality. The Flaming Unagi was definitely the star as its touched which brings a unique char to the rice giving the roll more depth. The amazing spider roll is just that amazing. We also had two different Tamaki's one shiitake mushroom and one lobster, both are delicious and shareable for two. Just an amazing dinner and experience, highlighted with amazing hospitality.

    Lunch special chirashi don set

Excellent Japanese restaurant in the heart of downtown Victoria! I was pleased and surprised to find that there was no wait when we got there at noon on a Sunday during a busy summer weekend. The inside is a bit dark, but I didn't mind--I was ready to chow down. Uni does a lunch set special menu but they only serve 20 boxes a day. We were able to order ours because we got there fairly early I think, but it's an excellent choice. There are so many sides that come with the box, and you get to choose between 7 different main dish options, including chirashi don, aburi (which wasn't exactly aburi the way I understand it), and teriyaki. The little sides were very good as well; there was a bbq pork side that was sweet and spicy. I also had the wonton udon, a combo I had never had before, but it hit the spot after a late night dancing away. The prices aren't astronomical either, especially for how much you get for the lunch box. I would definitely come back again next time I'm in Victoria!

Fresh sashimi and friendly service. Kids had a blast eating here. Lychee drink was quite nice.

miso butter fish, a perfectly grilled black cod marinated in miso sake

came in for a late lunch and wasn't hungry enough to tackle the lunch special set (limited to 20 orders a day, available from 12-3 pm). it looked like way too much food, but definitely a good value if you're up for it. the space itself is spacious and lovely, with a nice outdoor patio for sunny days, a beautiful interior, and an extensive menu that makes choosing difficult. i went with the negi-kura-toro temaki, two hand rolls filled with ikura, green onion, and buttery tuna belly. the rice was perfectly seasoned, the tuna belly melts in your mouth, and the ikura added bursts of briny pop that balanced the richness. alongside that, i had the miso butter fish, a perfectly grilled black cod marinated in miso sake. the black cod was flaky, tender, and deeply flavourful, with the miso sake marinade adding a subtle sweetness and umami depth that complemented the natural richness of the fish. each bite had that satisfying char from the grill, making it a standout. service was warm and friendly, though a little on the slow side. overall, a relaxed spot with thoughtful dishes and lunch sets worth coming back for when you've got more of an appetite, the kind of place where the details in seasoning, texture, and presentation really shine.

We were walking back to our hotel and decided to stop by here for dinner on our last day in town. We were seated after a short wait. Water and menus were dropped off shortly after being seated. We decided to order a number of items. Unfortunately, they had ran out of oyster motoyaki and uni. We decided to order some waygu oshi, silver omakase, blue-fin o-toro nigiri, pan-fried gyoza and some real wasabi. It took some time for our food to arrive as the restaurant was busy. Food presentation was very nice. The flavours were also great. Sashimi was fresh with no fishy taste. The waygu oshi was one of the better versions I have tried. The beef was tender and melt in your mouth. Also, I enjoyed that real wasabi was available as most restaurants do not offer this. I was surprised the restaurant shared the space with a bubble tea shop. I would have ordered a bubble tea to take back if I was not full from dinner. Overall, we were very happy to randomly stumble upon this restaurant on our way back to our hotel. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to try some unique and pricier options. The meal was worth the price tag.

We stopped at Uni for lunch before we returned to our ship and it did not disappoint. I started with Japanese oysters, they come with a little ponzu and green onions and it was really good. I love smaller oysters so these were perfect. To drink I got the gin yuzu drink, I can never say no to yuzu citrus, it was really refreshing. For my roll I went with the crazy salmon roll and it was so fresh and light and just amazing. My husband got the strawberry crunch roll which was so different than anything we've ever seen. He really enjoyed it. To end it all we got the crepe cake. It was the perfect balance of sweet and tart. The place was really elegant and clean and our server was very friendly. If we ever make it back to Victoria we would definitely go here again.

This was the surprise standout but the beef dishes and rolls were incredible too!

The bun was incredibly fresh, light, and pillowy, while the pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth tender with the perfect balance of richness and tang from the kimchi. The pickled vegetables added a bright crunch that tasted incredibly fresh. We started with the salmon tartare, and it was phenomenal! Rich, buttery, bursting with flavor, and so good we were literally fighting over the last bite. And the scallop? Order one for each person. Seriously. It's far too delicious to share. It had just the right amount of heat, leaving the perfect lingering warmth that immediately made us want another. Do yourself a favor and give yourself enough time to work your way through the menu, because every dish we tried was outstanding. Each plate was thoughtfully curated, beautifully executed, and cooked to perfection. I like to call it the C³ trifecta: curated, created, and cooked. Without question, this is some of the best food we've had in a very long time. We can't wait to come back (when visiting) and continue eating our way through the rest of the menu.

There was an interesting smell at the entrance when we first walked in, but luckily we were seated in the back room. As recommended, we ordered family style to try a variety of dishes. Endive salad - can't really go wrong with the classic combination of apple walnut and goat cheese, however many larger pieces of endive were quite bitter. tater tots - nice presentation with the cubes. The tots were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Paired well with the jalapeño ranch, and the lumpfish caviar was a fun addition. Beef tartare- the beef was fresh and flavor was good overall. However the toast was only cut in half, made it hard to eat or cut into. Middle of the toast also got a little too soft from the juice. Fried chicken - solid fried chicken, the meat is tender and well seasoned, crispy on the outside. The semolina cube didn't add much for me, but the 3 hot sauce added a nice balance of heat and acidity. Ling cod - The fish was tender and cooked well. Surprisingly, the cabbage really stood out. Service was a bit slow, we had to flag down our server for refills. Overall we enjoyed our meal, every dish was well prepared, but nothing truly stood out as memorable. We did appreciate it being farm-to-table, and the commitment to source ingredients locally.

The main of the flat iron with arugala on the top with fries. They plated it and served it with a slug in it. The slug fell from inside the salad onto the plate . A baby slug. But it was living and moving. What followed was poor response and gaslighting of which this restaurant should be ashamed. In order not to disgust the others I stopped a woman that was working the floor to remove the plate. When I pointed to the slug why gave a small chuckle and half smile and stated, "well, it is farm to table." That is gaslighting. Right there that was a poor response. I see signs saying Michelin on this restaurant, but really...if you had served a slug to a someone rating you for a Michelin, you think you would get that rating? Highly doubtful. That should never have been served. Yes the restaurant cooked another meal which took longer. They cooked it just fine too....however their lackluster and empty words of well we do say it's farm to table doesn't replace an apology or an assurance of we will do better.
