Friends joke that I only use Yelp to leave bad reviews. Haha jokes on me here's another bad review. I only trust car dealerships for my car. Because the auto technicians specialize in Hondas makes sense right? I made an appointment for 8am the earliest I can get, I have two jobs and work 7 days a week. So for me my free time is gold. But I'm a pretty relax person. I needed an oil change, my tires to be aligned and rotated. I waited for a little over 2 hours, I went to check up on the status of my car (I have work) And I see my car parked and ready to go. The gentleman who was helping me looked at me and told me that he still needed to call the warranty and see if I'm covered and that they do have the part and they still need to install it. Are you kidding me? That call should've been made a long time ago when I dropped off my car (btw he told me that was going to call them and get back at me while I was waiting. Never did) but it should've been made while my car was still in the shop. Commonsense and time efficient. I always have a good experience here and no complaints, I'm just speaking about this experience. Just disappointed in how things were handled. read more

Always excellent service. Had a problem with my new Civic, noise front the drivers side front wheel. Took the car to Spreed Honda in Loma Linda since I was out in that area. They could NOT find the issue, offered to test drive the car with me, had to drive back here avoid the traffic did not have the time... Than took it to my Fav Honda service, Honda of the Desert. They had it for over 2 hours. Did nothing to the car at all, no paper work, lied to me, told me all was taken car of, and that they had to replace a strut, what?? No paper work?? I drove off the lot, same noise.NO NEW STRUT. I finally took it to Unicar Honda,in Indio, CA, where I purchased the car, Scott Sunds Service Advisor was right there, no wait, very organized,super clean place. They had the car for 4 hours found the problem. Ordered the part, I return in a few days after I got off work, , replaced the part, it runs with NO noise, like it should. Great job, took their time, did not lie to me or waste my time like Honda of the Desert has done several times to me. From now on, all service will be at Unicars Honda for me. It is worth the drive for me. I have had the best service and always a pleasant experience at Unicars. Thank you Scott, and thank you for the excellent service, and the correct repair to my car. If I could give them a zero I would. This is the sleaziest dealership I've ever dealt with. I love my Honda. This review is not against Honda. The finance guy Jarod lied, and the deal kept changing. "Oh no, your deal didn't include tax and license, oh no your deal requires a down payment, " when the deal was for my trade in as down payment. But the kicker was that they pushed an extended warranty on me which I was able to cancel that Honda America explained was only valid at their dealership. I could go one and on about the deception, lack of disclosure, but this is the most important. When I came to cancel the warranty, I asked the general manager to come in as a witness as I already knew Jarod was a liar, the general manager Rick started to walk in with me, and the minute I crossed the threshold, he turned around and walked away. Jarod closed the door and started telling me how stupid I was and how I didn't know what a good deal I had, etc. once it was all over, he laughed and said he would have done the same thing and reminded me that any rating under 5 was unacceptable. I called Honda America and they were appalled at my treatment. If I was not a woman alone, he would never have treated me that way...or maybe he would have. He's about as sleazy as they get. I would like to share the unfortunate experience we had at this dealership 2 nights ago. I told the Sales associate who first entertain me that we we're just looking and not planning to buy that night. We want to see the interior of odyssey Van and compare between Ex L and Touring , she was very pleasant and accommodating . However she had to endorse me to another associate to continue my inquiry and answer all our questions. We asked what are the deals they have going on for this month . He said he will need to pre screen "my credit" i told him again Im not buying tonight and he said not to worry it wont hurt anything. He showed us MSRP + Tax . He asked us what is the number we are looking , we gave him the number . He then called his manager Andrew , the manager presented the figures - higher than what were willing to pay , he asked us if he will give our asking price if We are buying tonight. I responded no , he asked why not? I responded to him . I said Im not decided yet I came here to check the 2 models . The way he asked us question back and forth , he started to sound intimidating, his facial expression, his eyes, his voice , his gesture indicated that he is irritated. And that made me feel uncomfortable. He was trying to make a point that what we were asking is too low and that he will prove it . He checked the Kelly Blue Book website fair pricing and was surprised that KBB's price is about 3K lower. The figures then changed based on KBB , but to end the conversation he said he cant give us our asking price and HE WALKED AWAY ! Just like that ! Oh wow , we were left in awe. Two weeks ago I was hit in a nasty auto accident. Was not looking to immediately purchase a new car after mine was totaled, Was sore, and am "not fond" of auto sales people. Went to UniCar not planning to purchase due to Yelp reviews, but only test drive. Jason was extremely pleasant and low key, and was very helpful in explaining the first hybrid I had driven. With only one car on the lot of my model, I was expecting non-competitive pricing. Jason and his manager Rob offered a price that was excellent. I had done a lot of research, and was planning to go back to LA to purchase. This price was the best by far!! Purchased on the spot. Got a price quote from their internet dept, they had quoted me the best price so I decided to lease my new car from them...however once we were there to get it they told me that I had to finance the car and couldn't lease it, they also told me that I had to buy an alarm for about $1000.00 and that they couldn't take it off the car, what a joke, talk about BAIT and Switch!!! UNSCRUPULOUS at best and FRAUDULENT at worst. Carlos, Luis and Mark were all called and advised that our 89-year-old grandmother/mother was coming in to buy a car, but she has a dementia diagnosis, and to please NOT sell her a car. (The local Lexus and Hyundia dealers were also notified and said they APPRECIATED the warning.) . Unicars (and specifically Carlos), proceeded with the sale, because they apparently also have medical degrees (they said she seemed perfectly capable). We told them we are willing to buy the car, but they charged her too much so lets talk about price. No dealing with them. When we told them we will need to cancel because of the warning by the daughter with power of attorney, they simply stated they had done nothing wrong. They had sent her home with the car and were waiting for a credit card for the downpayment. They knew the daughter with power of attorney refused to give the credit card info. They HOUNDED another daughter to get the caregiver to give them the credit card information (I told them they were basically trying to steal credit card information from someone who doesn't have the card and who has no authority to give them the card number.) . After leaving a message for the owner, Andreas Mozoras, about all of this, we get a call from the sales manager, Jonathon Romero. Presented with all of this information, Mr. Romero STILL says they did nothing wrong. When I reminded him that they still don't have credit card information so there is no deal, he said that since she signed the contract, if she doesn't pay the downpayment they'll take her to court. Carlos V was our sales rep and he was AMAZING! My dad has purchased at least 3 cars from Unicars and was the one who insisted I drive 2 hours from South OC to talk to "his guy"! I'm glad we did! Carlos was helpful and patient. He explained things in such a way that I didn't feel pressured or strung along. He had a great sense of humor and kept us laughing the whole time. Wow!! That's about all I can say about my visit to Unicar Honda yesterday. I have a leased 2014 civic which I took in to have the service updated and Auto Butler service completed. My car was completed in a reasonable amount of time, I was given an detailed description of what had been performed, oil, rotate tires, Butler Service etc..and sent on my Merry way. I had to drive on to Yucca Valley and was really early for appointment so I took a few minutes to read the paperwork I had been given. CRAP!!! My car had failed the Alignment Audit by a huge amount and in mini sized letters it also stated I needed transmission service. I was absolutely in shock that the serviceman did not tell me this information before leaving the lot. No report, no offer to perform the serviced, NOTHING!! Thankfully I had parked across the street from Tire Pro shop and hurried my car over to see if they could at least perform the alignment that day. Even the repairman there was surprised that no one at the Unicar company had informed me of how bad my alignment was. This issue could have attributed to a major accident!! Thank goodness I had planned to pay off my lease so I won't be forced to EVER go to this unsafe place again. I recently called unicorns Honda asking about avenues for financing a car and fitting my budget, after speaking to what he told his name was "Jim Hoyer" he hung up the phone improperly and had me on speaker phone. After doing that he clearly stated "Fu*king Broke a**, maybe next time" and another few seconds went by and a busy dial tone after that. He told me he would send me his information via text but failed to do so. I thought, "well, maybe he was talking to a colleague and not me" but when he failed to provide his information via text like he promised, I knew he wasn't and was talking I'll about me. I am absolutely appalled at the fact someone would say something so lightly about a potential buyer and hold false integrity. I later called and asked to speak to a manager but when o stated everything above, he said no one of that name worked there. This is the worse dealership I've been to...I decided to car shop out of town thinking it would be a better deal...boy was I wrong....guy doing my paper work gave me ridiculous amounts...so I had them re-do my contract...so since I made changes they gave me a higher APR, which I thought it was ridiculous..I argued with them and they gave me a bunch of BS..but being that I had already traded in my car there was not much I could do..they wanted to charge me $500 for window tinting, and I told them I didnt want it and they tried to tell me that is was part of the package....after fighter with the manager they agreed to take it off my total being that it wasn't on the car yet....they still got me with the KARR system...which was optional according to the contract, but they kept saying they couldn't take it off becuase it was already installed in the car....I even contacted the KARR company and they told me it was optional...I traded in a 2014 accord...and I don't know what they did on their side that now I'm getting Late payment notices on the car I traded in....I've had the worse experience ever....and im still trying to solve all the problems this dealership has caused...I definitely do not recommend this dealership....they are a bunch of liars... read more

I took my 2014 Honda Civic in on 3-10-17 for an oil change at the Unicars Honda.I asked service agent to pls make sure they checked everything cause I was going to be out of town n he said for sure that they always do. On 3-29 my car wouldn't start so I called AAA for service and he was surprised to see my battery with A Lot of corrosion around cables. It was obvious that Honda never checked anything or else it would been mentioned to me. After AAA cleaned n ckn my battery, I was advised to drive it to the dealership ASAP. I showed pictures of how my battery looked and said "NO" they didn't ck it. Now I don't feel like I can trust them for any of my car services. I paid for a new battery, which I would hv done that on 3-10. Have they really changed my oil n ckd other things in the last 3 years that I've taken my car in?????? Makes u wonder. So pls if you go there for anything, make sure they aren't lying to you. It's hard to trust once something like this happens. One thing is that I'm glad I wasn't stranded out of town or at night. We bought a honda fit from Unicars.....never again will we go there or recommend them to anyone. They were horrible. They took a trade in and only gave 1,000 for it, my boyfriend went down there by himself originally. When I looked at the paperwork and went with him to back out of the deal, they had a form in their paperwork he had signed ($250.00 if you dont sign) saying he could not back out of the deal. Sonny kept referring to the Million dollars worth of deals he had pending. Found that to be a bit tachy... We have been waiting for months for the paperwork on the car....still dont have license plate.....they never smogged it!! Numerous phone calls and promises to get back to us. Never heard from them. Worst experience ever, I trade in a car, they did not pay off the car until 28 days after and tried to charge me for the interest, then I received a AAA letter stating that i had an accident on the freeway in LA, I went to clarify this issue and they say they sold the car and they know who drove it. the car still on my name but they changed the legal owner to them. Something very fishing going on with this dealer, I called AAA and they told me it was hit and run, the dealer said they recovered the car from the impound, which does not make sense, I just received two tikets from the metro expresslanes, one for 27.00 at 9:54 in the morning which was the time of the accident, the other for 32.00 at 4:32 the same day, I received a dmv letter stating that I am the registered owner and unicars the legal owner. So now I have to go to the dmv to show them I am not the owner anymore, and fix the tiket, I know they tried to get money from my insurance the are RATS. Just because i did not buy the GAP insurance with them the financial manager was very angry, I never caming back to this dealer, be AWARE I belive they faked the accident because the photos in the metro tikets does not show damage in the car. Hi! I just wanted to save my local neighbors some money and time. Don't ever buy a car from Unicars Honda !! I bought a Pilot in March 2017. Now in January 2018 they want to charge me half what I paid to fix the tranmission. The car has had the issue probably since we bought it but we did not notice on the test drive. Maybe our bad, but why would a quality used car place sell me a car with a bad torque converter, meaning I'd need a new transmission? If they are doing a true and thoughrough quality inspection and the car had to pass certain tests to even get on their lot then their service department would have figured out the problem. This leads me to believe they more than likely new about the problem and put it on their lot for FULL price. They would not discount the car at all as I recall when we got it. We figured it was good quality and it had one previous owner. I will never go back here again. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere without a bunch of sleeze bags. I was not going to yelp about my encounter with the people at Unicars Honda off of the 10 freeway, but making me remember my experience with them last year caused me to be livid for a moment. Not many shopping experiences make me upset, I am a fairly mellow person, but for some reason the sales staff here rubbed me the wrong way. Perhaps in the last year they have changed, but I highly doubt it. Anyways, I came into this sales dealership with information in hand. I had looked up the Kelly blue book value of cars, looked up their used car stock online, and made this insane spreadsheet of their asking price, mileage, accidents, KBB estimate, etc, etc. so that I would be prepared. However, I did not let them know of my spreadsheet that I kept tucked away within my purse. I came to the dealership with my best representatives my mom and dad. We meandered the lot in the blazing heat, and was approached eventually by one of the salesperson. The cars that I had wanted had been sold weeks ago, so all the cars on the lot were new to me, which let me know they don't update their website very often. Essentially, what miffed me about this place was that they were trying to pawn off this car that had been in several accidents and well over the 30,000 miles that I wanted... the car actually had some 60,000 miles, and reeked of cigarettes. Thanks, but no thanks. Then, when I had found a car that I was actually interested in they barely budged on the price, and then they brought in the "big guy" to negotiate and show me some paperwork on the car, and they actually are "letting" me have it at the "same" price that they paid for it... like I can honestly believe some doctored, white out copies. He made it seem as if he was doing me a favor letting me buy this "awesome" car... Essentially, I changed my mind and went to some of the other dealerships around in the area. I suggest you don't come to this dealership unless you want to be treated poorly and swindled out of some of you hard earned money. We ended up going to almost all the dealerships in the desert, and I purchased my car from the Honda dealership in Cathedral City where the people were much better. I would not return to do business with this Unicar Honda! I was looking for a Honda Civic and ready to by with financing already in place. I lived close to 100 miles away and I had the price I wanted to pay. I had originally talked with internet sales person negotiated a discount if I were to buy today. I agreed as long as car was in good condition etc. I drove to location did test drive and had mentioned that only issue was the care smelled of smoke. It was going to be washed before purchase. I agreed to purchase and contract shows full price not agreed negotiated price. Internet sales woman did not pick up her phone and now I was dealing with somebody else stating that he could not discount any further. Not only could he not discount further that i would also need a 1500 down payment and put me in higher interest rate! I came in with financing already had lower interest and i didnt need a down payment. I am usually a very calm person but lost my temper and was ready to walk out. I meant how unethical it is to make a customer drive from a long way and not honor their word and now trying to put me in some different financing that will benefit them! I was ready to leave and within minutes they came back honored the original priced and and now stating I dont need a down payment! I agreed to purchase vehicle and signed paper work and left in their parking lot to pick up later. I was aware that I didnt take posession of vehicle and legally could go back and just state I didnt drive off the lot and it is still theirs. I later went back with my husband he looked at the car and was in good condition. I wanted to leave it there based on my experience I had only even though the price ended up being a good value. I have never left a dealership where they have not topped off the fuel and did a detail before buying. Car was not cleaned very well either. I am happy with purchase price but that is why I only give 1 star. Word of mouth and reputation is everything when there is so many other dealers. Service department is rude and lazy. My husband and I were interested in buying a used Honda from a private party so we wanted a pre purchase inspection done on the car before we purchased it. We immediately thought of the closet Honda dealer so their service department could do the inspection and give us the most knowledgeable opinion. When we called and asked if they did inspections they said oh yes of course, we asked how much it was, what hours they were open and no we don't need an appointment we were told. It only takes about 30 mins. We were on a limited schedule to view and inspect this car due to conflicting work schedules so we showed up to the service center about 10 mins before 5pm on a Saturday. We were turned away saying they couldn't do the inspection because all the technicians had gone home already. I asked why they said they were open until 6pm and their posted hours was up until 6pm. "Oh yes we are open until 6pm but my technicians have already gone home. " What does that even mean? Why are you still open then? All technicians are gone a whole 1.10 mins early? There were like 5 people walking around still. They aren't technicians? Not to mention the sales department doesn't even close until 9pm so they need to have at least one technician there if they sell cars until 9pm. Then he tells me that is something we need an appointment for. Obviously their service department needs to communicate and get on the same page. Either he was lying because they were lazy and did not want to do work so late in the day before closing or the only very qualified workers did go home way too early but either way the customer was lied to on the phone and inconvenienced. I drove all the way from Moreno Valley area to Indio to take this car to this dealer for inspection and was let down. If I could recoup my lost time and money I would but since I can't warning people not to take their cars here would be worth it to me. Lazy. read more

I bought a car here. Buyer beware and stay away from this place. First of all the finance manager lied about the extended warranty. I bought the extended warranty only to find out that it only covered about 50 percent of vehicle repairs and was full of loop holes in favor of the company. I called back numerous times over the course of several months trying to get a refund for the warranty. I went through a hellish nightmare fighting to get my money back and even threatened to take them to small claims court. They told me over and over that they were working on it and that they would call me back. They never returned one phone call. I have bought several cars over my life time and I have never felt more deceived by employees at a car dealership. The finance manager is crooked and sneaky as a snake. If you're making money hand over fist, is it worth your integrity to make an extra few dollars. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Just be honest with people. You'll make enough money, I promise. Stop being so dishonest and blaming your customers for being ignorant. As of this writing, you have 10 independent customers that have rated your dealership with 1 star out of 5 stars, but you insist that you're fair? They had my new car I wanted. That's about it for the good stuff. Called on Friday afternoon, said I would be there Saturday morning. Had to drive from San Diego. Got there at 9 a.m. Salesman couldn't find car. It was on lot but on a ramp. It was filthy dirty. Wouldn't start as the battery was dead, been there for four months. You shouldn't let a customer see his "new" car in that condition. Got out of there by 1pm. Purchased extended warranty, but I called up on Monday a.m. and canceled it. He said no problem. It's been a month and I yet to receive a credit. I have called twice now and left a message to call back ( they didn't pick up). They have not returned either of my calls. Is this what you call "great" customer service? Hell, I just spent 35,000, I think I deserve at least a return call from your financial service rep.
