Today was the 5th time I've had one of our cars smog tested here and as usual, it was super fast and easy! The lounge is comfortable with the news on TV and puffy leather couches, and a water cooler for these hot desert days. But this time around it was for my ride. Tho there's other smog check facilities closer to my home (that charge a few bucks less) the extra few miles driven is well worth the effort & visit. Nothing's really changed here -- the place is still clean & comfy with leather couches & chairs, a flat screen tv for your viewing pleasure...and a free-flowing coffee machine if you need a caffeine buzz. Only problem is they perform smog inspections so quickly there's no time to kick back & relax ;) Rolando is still the main man in charge...but this time I had the pleasure of meeting and dealing with friendly and customer-driven Will too. I made an appointment via their website which requires a $5 credit card deposit through a 3rd party to reserve your spot...and they also send text alerts if you choose to opt-in. Scheduled my appointment on Friday @10:45am, checked-in on-time...and I kid you not, Ronaldo had my car ready to go before 11am. Now that's what I call outstanding service. The pricing is pretty standard for what our state is ripping us all off for some of these smog checks + a certificate (my car is not that old with barely 40K miles) But what I like most about this particular place is they're approved & certified with the DMV...so once your car passes the test, you get new tags & registration on-the-spot -- which makes paying a few more bucks all the more worth it. They also provide other DMV & AAA services like Tittle and Change of Ownership. Smog Dog has been in business since 2001 so they're obliviously doing things right... Amazing. Super easy to book an appt online. Yes, you leave a $5.00 booking deposit to ensure you attend your appt, but once you pay your bill, the $5.00 is credited to your total. He took my smog registration form and checked me in and confirmed the amount I would pay before the work was done. He took my key and proceeded to take my car to the shop on the side of the building for the smog test. It took about 10 minutes, quick process and service. I paid my fee for the smog only via debit card and was ready to go. I am very pleased with the service I received and would recommend them to anyone needing a smog test. Just be aware if your car had a check engine light on in the previous month before you took it they won't give you a pass because after a check engine light is turned off your car has to drive 300 miles, and perform around 20 cold starts . So know that before you wait til the last minute to get a smog to get your sticker. read more

I would not recommend this company. They purposely performed a smog to collect money on a vehicle when they knew it would not be able to get certified based upon an aftermarket item that the vehicle owner was not aware of. Totally unethical business practices. A legit business would have done a physical inspection, brought the concern to the customer prior to performing a service they knew would fail. read more
