Ever since moving up to Denton for school this has been my favorite donut shop to visit. It's a fun and whimsical take on a donut shop with its pink walls and fun shaped donuts from dinosaurs to footballs to dogs. The jalapeño sausage rolls are my favorite and I always pick up 4-6 when I go. It's always a fun time going into the shop and I've always been delighted to see what fun donuts they have on display to choose from each day. read more

The donuts were okay, but the lady at the front was very rude. Don't know if I'll be going back.

This is not a genuine donut shop. If you like normal delicious donuts this isn't for you. They cater to kids and are trying to be unique and cute, rather than concentrating on traditional taste and what made the donut shop a staple every half mile. I have to drive a little farther but will continue to for normal good glazed donuts. read more

I am addicted to good donuts. Unfortunately, it seems I can never get all the donuts I like, made well, in one location. Unicorn donuts is unique. Staff was polite. Donuts were also unique but average taste. Apple fritter seemed over cooked. Not very good at all. Cinnamon roll was a donut with cinnamon on it. Old fashions were great! They have a strawberry custard thing (don't know what to call it) that was the best donut type thing I've ever had. It was great. Other donuts were so so! I had high hopes for this place after reading all the positive google reviews. Sadly, I was disappointed. The people are nice enough and it's a cute place, especially for young ones. They have unicorns everywhere and it carries their name across well. The morning offerings are basic, with fewer options than some of the other donut shops in town. So, the 3 stars ... I had ordered a dozen donuts and watched the male pull them and set them on the shelf, the female was ringing them up, we get home and two of the donuts I ordered were not in the box, instead were two types that I had not. I am not sure how he got the wrong donuts when watched him pull the correct item from the shelf. Next, the donuts. The yeast donut was average, a slightly oily residue was left in the mouth and it was more dense than I prefer. They do offer a cinnamon old fashioned, which is a welcome change however, it lacks a nice cinnamon flavor and was missing the nostalgic buttermilk flavor of what the old fashioned donut is known for. They do offer filled donuts but only Bavarian cream and strawberry, which they fill after you order. The location is across from the movie theatre and offers what they call "Unicorn Hours" from 5-11 pm when they have some additional offerings geared towards the adult consumer, such as a maple and bacon and a coffee flavored one, based on the menu. We may give them a try for the later offerings but when we want a good donut we'll stick to the place across town. read more

Accidentally came across this place one night after getting my daughter's hair cut next door. We walked in and were blown away.... the store is adorable! Unicorns everywhere!! And THEIR DONUTS! Oh my, their donuts were crazy awesome... maple with strips of bacon, pink with sprinkles and bubble gum, chocolate with a graham cracker and toasted marshmallow! Allllll sorts of awesomeness! So WHY ONLY 4 STARS? Well fast forward to today. I have my unicorn obsessed niece and it's her birthday..... what better way for a 6 year old to wake up?! So we head to the Unicorn Donut Shop. It's a little bit of a drive for us because we don't live in town, but we don't care. We get there.... walk up to the counter and....... wait what the heck?????? Regular normal donuts!!!!!! um..... where are all the beautiful delicious gourmet donuts? Apparently they have 2 menus. The gourmet donuts are only served in the evenings. We passed a million other donut shops with the exact same donuts we could have gotten these same donuts way closer to our house. I told the guy behind the counter how disappointed we were that we had driven all this way on her birthday. He apologized. Super irritated I ordered our regular donuts and we sat down. Luckily my niece had not witnessed the gourmet donuts so she didn't even know what she was missing. She still had a nice time... after she finished her donuts she, my daughter, and my other niece all took advantage of the color supplies they offered, and colored cute unicorn pictures. I still think this place is nice and wish I could have given it 5 stars. I mean offering a free donut for the birthday girl or some donut holes might have helped ease the pain a bit... but oh well. Now I know for next time and hope this review helps other clients know about the double menu! read more

Definitely my new favorite spot to satisfy my sweet tooth. I love that they're open late, the decor is so freakin cute (definitely instagram worthy) and of course the donuts were so so good!! The worse customer service!! I posted my experience on their Facebook page and the reply from the owner was that they did not wanted rude customer back,I was not rude to the employee and of course I will not be back. This place will not be open for a long time if they keep having this mentality. As a business owner you should know that the customer is always right. read more
