The cook did a good job. The sausage was good. I would have really liked this plate if the oil it was made in wasn't old and staunchy.

This place smells so musty and dirty. If you look around, you will see splashes of old food on the walls, oily imprints everywhere. The floor is dirty, the cabinet at the entrance is dirty. This place hasn't been wiped down in YEARS I am certain it's never been deep cleaned. The food was all cooked in dirty old oil. If this is how the front looks, I can't imagine how disgusting the kitchen looks. Our waitress was actually nice. We were acknowledged by maybe the owner on the way out as well. Please hire someone to deep clean this place. You will likely need to close for a week to get this done. It's that bad. My photos have more details on the food. Overall was decent but ruined because of the old smelly oil. We walked in and battled walking right out. We decided to give it a try and regretted it unfortunately. We both walked away feeling really gross for the rest of the day.

The ambiance was supposed to be a country feel. As soon as hubby and I walked in you can tell this place is an older place. It had an old stale smell to the place. It was crowded and I told hubby let's give it a try. We were seated and I saw our server at the front of the counter and she watched as my hubby got up to go to the restroom to come over and ask what we wanted to drink. I told her I wanted an orange juice and then she said do you know what your husband wants to drink? I said no can you come back and get his drink order. The server told me the orange juice was freshly squeezed. I drank some and it tasted like orange punch. I ordered the Belgium waffle with a side of turkey sausage. The waffle was not good. I only ate 3 bites of it and the turkey sausage was dry. Hubby ordered the French toast with hash browns, eggs with cheese and turkey sausage. Hubby said the hash browns were under cooked and he said his sausage was dry also. Hubby said the French toast was decent. I personally will not be returning because food was not good at all to me. This is my personal opinion and others may think different

When I am in Denton, this is a restaurant I really enjoy going to. They have home made chips that are so tasty! Honestly, for me, their chips are the best! And while I have only eaten sandwiches here, I am never disappointed. Today I had the chicken salad with grapes - so good! And our waitress was so kind and personable. You know how some wait staff are either too attentive or just disappear on you - thats not what I received today. It was the perfect amount of attention for me to enjoy my meal and also feel her presence.

Delicious food! Reuben was great and juicy. The brussel sprouts were very flavorful and crisp. And a good portion at that! May was an excellent waitress and overall a great visit here.

Loved this place! This place came highly recommended to me so I had to give them a try. I had a little time while getting a new battery installed in a car and so I gave them a try. Upon first entering the ambiance was very pleasant. They were very busy and yet the noise level was such we were able to visit comfortably. Typical cafe type setting, but pleasant. The star of this place is the service and the food. Noah, our waiter gave us great service. He was on top of our experience and was a big part of making the total meal experience a great one. I ordered the pancake combo breakfast. It came with 2 eggs cooked to order, a breakfast meat, hash browns or home fried potatoes, and of course pancakes! It was all really good! Also at our table was a BLT Sandwich and the Tuscan Grilled Cheese. Everyone was really happy with their meals. I don't live close, so probably won't be a regular, but certainly won't hesitate to come back when I am in Denton at a meal time!

    Cheeseburger and fried okra

I decided that I wanted a burger, so tried this place. I don't like the location because it takes a few to find since it's at the backside of the building your GPS will take you to. But not overly bad, though. Let's start with the okra since that's the first thing I ate lol. It was fried okra, nothing overly special or anything, but it was a change from fries like everyplace else has (it's 1 side of your choice, which had a decent list of choices). Now onto the burger. I am no fan of mayo, so I got mustard instead. The burger was pretty good size and tasted pretty good (it was a burger, so nothing to really stand out). The one thing I didn't like is that the bun they use has a sweetness to it which I can see being popular, but not a choice I would prefer when getting a burger, since the Sweetness doesn't really go with it. If got their BBQ one, might be different. The good part of the bun, though, was it was soft and didn't start to fall apart like they do many places. Overall the food was good, not exceptional. The staff was really good, though, and made it very easy to place the order, find a place to sit down, and the order was brought out to me. I may return, but if I do, would use that to get their BBQ one and test that one out. Also my order for a decent sized burger and fried okra was only just over $11, which is really cheap these days

Western burger is one of the best burgers in Denton

He had come here several times with a couple of his friends from college and said I needed to give it a try. I ordered biscuits and gravy and it's not like your typical biscuits and gravy. It just has way more flavor than you would expect. I sampled a few other various items off the menu and everything was outstanding. The staff is very nice and courteous and it's just a cozy little place to go and get some food. It's also very clean inside and it's one of these businesses that if you're not paying attention, you'll just drive right past. It's kind of hidden out of the way, but it is definitely worth going. It's not a huge restaurant and I didn't have any trouble finding parking. It also wasn't very busy at the time that we went so I would imagine it will get busy with the breakfast or lunch rush but both times that I've been it's been really nice. Highly highly highly recommend visiting this at least once and trying it

Lots of tables and cute pictures. The place is loud but that's because everyone is talking at their table. Our server Trayvon was super nice and very helpful. He gave some good recommendations since this was our 1st time. We ordered a couple of cocktails. I ordered a strawberry lemon drop and hubby had a Bee's Knee. It had Gin honey and lemon. Hubby got the traditional breakfast-chicken apple sausage, sourdough toast and hash browns and scrambled eggs with cheese. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with the gravy on the side. I rather dip the chicken in the gravy verse having it poured on top. My chicken fried chicken came with grits and sourdough toast. The chicken was so good and flavorful. I loved the grits. I also got a side of chicken apple sausage and when I tell you it was so good. It had just right amount of sweetness. This is a place to bring family and friends from out of town. We will be back.

Limited parking right now - looks like another building and hopefully additional parking being constructed next door. Immediately liked the bright modern comfortable vibe when entering. I loved the circle lights above the booths. Unfortunately, they were dusty and I kept waiting for it to drop in our food. (Not what I want to be focusing on while eating). Very large menu with lots of great choices for breakfast, lunch, brunch. Cocktails, mocktails, fresh juice also available. I got the CHICKEN BACON RANCH PANINI - it was really good but messy. Arrived sloppy dripping in ranch. I ended up having for fork & knife it. Good bacon, grilled chicken, slices of avocado. Would get ranch on side next time - It tastes like the typical restaurant supply big bucket of blah ranch. They need a house made ranch. The fried okra was really good! MONTE CRISTO - on a croissant. Completely soggy and unable to eat as a sandwich. Strawberry jam on it was a nice different touch. Had to eat with fork & knife. Not one of the better ones in the area. Fries were really good though. We will go back sometime and try breakfast.

Everything we ordered was delicious. The guacamole tasted super fresh, the queso was flavorful and came in a generous portion, and the salsa had just the right amount of kick without being too spicy. The only small hiccup was the chips situation--they give you big portions of guac, queso, and salsa, but the chips come in a tiny bowl. (Literally 10 chips) very sad for 6 people to fight over so little of chips. Not a huge deal, just a bit surprising. We also tried the margaritas--they had great flavor, though they tasted absent of tequila. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would definitely go back...maybe next time we bring our own chips! :)

Let me set the scene: I walked in expecting a casual meal and maybe a decent taco. What I got instead was a borderline spiritual awakening wrapped in foil and served with rice and beans. First of all -- the giant piña colada. When they say giant, they are not messing around. This thing arrived like it had its own gravitational pull. I'm pretty sure I saw a small family of tourists orbiting it. One sip and I was transported to a beach that doesn't even exist on any map -- coconutty, icy perfection with just enough kick to make me briefly consider texting my boss that I've moved to an island and won't be returning. Then came the beans. Listen carefully: I don't throw this word around lightly -- perfect. These beans were so good I genuinely paused mid-bite and just stared into the middle distance reevaluating my entire life. Creamy, rich, seasoned like someone's abuela whispered ancient secrets into the pot. I would trust these beans with my taxes, my passwords, and honestly my emotional well-being. And the corn tortillas... dear lord, the corn tortillas. I have had tortillas in many places, including at my own abuela's table -- and saying this feels like confessing a sin -- but these might be the best I've ever had besides abuela's. Warm, soft, slightly charred in all the right places, like they were handmade by someone who has been perfecting this craft since before I was born and possibly before electricity was invented. If I could build a house out of these tortillas, I would. I would live there. Happily. And then--just when I thought things couldn't escalate further--the huevos rancheros arrived. Eggs cooked to that perfect sweet spot where the yolk still has a little rebellion left in it, laid over a bed of everything that matters, all tied together with a sauce that refuses to be anything less than unforgettable. It's the kind of breakfast that makes you question why you ever settle for anything less in life. Comforting, bold, and somehow both rustic and wildly impressive at the same time. Everything else on the plate? Outstanding. Rice that actually deserves to be eaten and not just politely ignored. Salsa that sneaks up on you like, "oh this is nice--OH okay there it is." Service? Friendly, fast, and somehow emotionally supportive. Atmosphere? The kind of place where you immediately feel like a regular even if it's your first time. Final verdict: If you are anywhere within a 50-mile radius of Denton and you are not eating at La Fondita Mexican Restaurant, you are making a series of deeply questionable life choices. I came in hungry. I left changed.
