I've attended 3 weddings at Red Brick Hall and all have been very nice. The facility is well-cared…read morefor and the catering is good. However this building is DANGEROUS; this venue should be avoided at all costs for events that can happen when there is snow on the ground. The building has a metal roof that's has a pitch of approximately 60-70°. If there's snow on the roof it's only a matter of time before it comes flying down before falling 3 stories to the ground. During our rehearsal dinner 5 cars had their windshields smashed in by falling snow and ice, including the bride's car. At least one vehicle had damage to the hood. The owners of the facility didn't even put up signs to notify people of the danger the next day for the wedding. I saw many people walk right under the spots where the cars were hit the night before. They just put up two caution cones and hoped for the best. After mentioning this to a few friends the following day we learned that similar incidents have happened in the past but no one was hurt. I find it disturbing that the owners have done nothing to stop people from parking or walking under this problem area. THE OWNERS ALREADY KNEW ABOUT THE ISSUE AND REFUSED TO ADDRESS IT. When this happened we all sat around and listened to the bride call the owners. The woman she spoke to was less than empathic to the bride who was obviously shaken up and crying. After finding out that no one was hurt the next thing she said was that everyone involved needs to call their insurance and make a claim. The next thing she said was, "Did you call the police? Since it's on private property the police don't need to be involved". After the bride hung up the phone we all just looked at each other dumbfounded by the lack of empathy or remorse. Two of the people whose windshields were smashed lived over an hour away and had to find someone to come and get them in the middle of a nasty storm. Also, there is a snowmobile trail that runs along 2 sides of the building. This means that it's legal for snowmobiles to be within a 10 ft of the building on all sides. The most recent wedding I attended had to be stopped a few times while we waited for packs of snowmobiles to pass. The trailhead and main gas station for the snowmobiles are also right next to Red Brick Hall. There's nothing on Google or Apple Maps indicating the presence of these trails and the owners obviously aren't going to tell you about them. To top it all off there's train tracks less than 200ft away. We had to stop the ceremony when a train came through blaring its horn. We're also still trying to figure out why the bride and groom were charged 10% more for food than originally agreed upon. If anything you'd think the owners would provide a discount after everything they put the couple through. I will edit this if the owner's insurance ends up taking care of the damaged vehicles but so far everyone is paying their deductible out of pocket.

We also had a couple *slight* mishaps the day of, and both Jeff and Jessica were there helping us or offering back up solutions in case things didn't work out. They also even set off some fireworks for us at the end of the night!! I can't put into words how happy I am that I decided to have my wedding here!! Horrible experience, the venue was not mowed, nor racked before my son and daughter in laws…read morereception set up, The venue stated a year ago when we met with them for the first time that they would have everything needed to help with the reception and when it came down to it they not only lied about that they also got mad because we chose to use our own vendors instead of what they offered in the contract it states they have electrical outlets as well as generators on the property as well as extra tents if needed available and when it came time for our vendors to arrive we found they had no electricity on the property at all then they got an attitude about needing electricity they said it was our responsibility to provide the electricity and everything for our reception that they are just a platform for the reception, they then began threatening my daughter in law and son to start charging them an extra 100.00 on the hour if we did not get off the property with everything taken down at 10pm which is when our reception was supposed to end, she then began telling me as I refused to let my children have their night ruined that we was supposed to shut our reception down at 7pm and begin cleaning up the venue and being gone at 10pm all she wanted to say was look at your contract which we have and the fact is she put the dates on the contract but no times and she signed it, as well as the contract we have says that the bar and DJ has to shut down at 10:30pm, the driveway to the venue is also very narrow and they have a large camper sitting at the top of the entrance way as well as 2 vehicles making it very hard to pull in and out of the venue. These people sent us several very nasty text messages and were very untruthful they then said they would be sending us an itemized bill for what they helped with again stating this is in the contract which again is not.

I can't say enough good things about this venue and staff. I wouldn't wish our Covid wedding planning stress on any bride and groom, but I will tell you from personal experience, Shadowland will stop at NOTHING to give you the best wedding reception possible! We were the classic "had everything planned out pre-Covid" story, so the Covid curveball really forced us to revise all our plans. Shadowland worked with the state on what the current guidelines were, and kept us updated with every change, giving us our options and telling us what to expect. Our venue wedding coordinator, Rysa, was so responsive with our questions, and truly made us feel like our wedding day was as important to them as it was to us. Having an August 2020 wedding, we were unfortunately constrained to an outdoor reception, and although it was crushing to not be able to us their beautiful ballroom, I cried happy tears when they informed us they would be putting up tents for us outside so we could still host our reception with them. With so many cancelations and changes, it was a huge relief to know they were still in our corner and not going to give up on us! Not only did they stick with us, but they went above and beyond to make sure it was amazing. One perfect example of their attention to detail was the color-coordinated bracelets they provided for guests to display their social comfort levels at the reception. This was a huge hit during an event where we had many guests of varied preferences. I would have never thought of this, but it made ALL the difference and was one less thing for me to worry about on our wedding day when we were giving out hugs and hellos. I will admit, even though we didn't choose it on purpose, the outdoor "tent on the beach" feel was actually pretty great! The guests loved being able to walk down for sunset pictures, and it was fun dancing under the stars. Fortunately for us, the one thing we did NOT have to change was our food choices because Shadowland provided all the catering. There were so many great meal options available at our tasting that it was actually hard to pick what to serve on our wedding day, and as expected, everything was delicious! We received many compliments on the food. Our wedding reception was absolutely perfect, even amidst the ongoing changes, and i know we have Shadowland to thank for making it possible.

Nicole and Jasmine made the entire planning process so easy and fun. I didn't have a wedding planner or coordinator, so it was helpful to lean on Jasmine for questions or advice. She was organized, responsive, so sweet, and helpful. Even with my crazy type-A personality I was able to relax on my wedding day knowing Jasmine had everything covered. We had 150 people and the ballroom was a great size for that. We used the patio for cocktail hour, and that was a hit. We had a second bar on the patio for cocktail hour as well. The food was great; we got a lot of compliments and it was so easy to have catering through Shadowland. The ballroom was beautiful. The only thing I didn't love was the chairs at Shadowland, so I went with gold chiavari chairs from www.chiavarichairswedding.com and they were fantastic and really made the room look great. I recommend using their preferred vendor list. It was so nice to have vendors who were familiar with the staff and layout. We used Ben Pancoast photography and photo booth and Music Unlimited for our DJ. They were terrific. We rented the carousel for 1 hour and it was a HIT. Our wedding was 21+ and the adults loved it. We definitely needed the full hour for the 150 guests to get our photos done first. We also loved the Mock Wedding shadowland throws for their confirmed couples. Becky is so sweet and treats everyone like family…read more Watching her hang out with her alpacas and getting to meet Bacchus, the resident dog, was a treat! We spent the first morning there just taking photos of the incredible property and antiques! We were a five minute drive from Diamond Lake and spent the day kayaking. That night we made popcorn and watched a movie in the barn. There is a projector so it was like a private theater complete with a big antique couch to snuggle on! Our bedroom was so comfy and the down blankets felt like the best thing ever after our long afternoon on the water! In the morning, I took a bubble bath while my husband cooked a delicious frittata with farm fresh eggs and peppers right from Becky's garden! Talk about a killer breakfast! After breakfast, we drove up to Warren Dunes and spent the afternoon climbing Tower Hill and swimming. We hit up several fun antique shops on the way back, and stopped into Vaselyks to pick up some smoked pork chops that we cooked up over the fire! We made smores for dessert and laid out under the stars. Becky even made us some chocolate chip cookies from scratch that we nibbled on! I can't tell you how great it was to reconnect with nature and enjoy such a fabulous romantic weekend in the country!
