The sangria is SO good I had to snag a bottle for home!

My sister highly recommended Lazy Ballerina on our sisterly wine stroll, and I'm SO glad we made the stop! It's a women & family owned business, and I'm always happy to support some fellow teachers, too! Melanie was the absolute cutest, and she made our whole wine tasting experience wonderful! At just $9 for 5 tastings PLUS the glass & a chocolate truffle, you just can't beat it. She opened up anything and everything she had on hand, including some that haven't even hit the shop yet, and just had us feeling so warm and cozy hanging out with her! Friday is educator discount day, so you best believe I headed home with some wine! I would not hesitate to come back the next time we do wine tastings! Definitely our favorite stop along the wine trail! :)

My friend & I spent the day in St. Joe recently and stopped at Lazy Ballerina before heading back home. The last time I was here was in their original small location. The new location is huge with a long bar and lots of seating throughout. Our server was very nice and explained all the wines we selected. I found a couple I liked and bought these to enjoy later. What a fun & memorable time we had.

Walked in with a group of 6... small town, we haven't had the best service, going to multiple eateries, wineries, breweries just to scoop out the town. When we jumped out of the car, we had 0 plans for another winery, but it seemed very easy and cute. Great decor! Tommy, wearing his Hangover hoodie, had a great attitude, described the wines, indulged us with our silliness and never skipped a beat. They serve a divine little chocolate to compliment the wines and it truly does. Purchased a bottle for home, and the wine was good, not my favorite, but the experience with Tommy made the fun. Recommend coming here and enjoying the time well spent with good wines.

Fun experience! We did the wine flight with chocolate so we could sit and look outside. Wine tastings are done at the bar and you must stand. Friendly staff. Clean.

I have to say, we were a bit disappointed with Lazy Ballerina. My sister and I had gone on a Yelp mission mapping out the wineries we'd like to visit, and so we had great hopes because of the branding. While the wines were ok, the people who were serving the wine weren't overly friendly and didn't really explain or go over the wines like you encounter at most wineries. It was more here you go, next. It was also super awkward for me as they spent quite a while with my ID and I was there with my younger sibling and both my parents and I'm about to be 30.....just saying. Some of the wines we tried tasted very watered down, and we were just kind of disappointed all around.

My mom & I were looking to break up a road trip and so glad my friend told me about Lazy Ballerina. Such a cute little wine stop in beautiful St. Joes. Since it is a small tasting room there was a small wait but it went by quick since there are so many cute things to look at & buy. Our server (whose name I unfortunately forgot) was very friendly and did great job explaining each wine that we tried; would not have realized she was still in training if she didn't say anything. The rest of the staff was also friendly & helpful as well. They also have a good variety of wines at reasonable prices. We loved most of the wines we tried and ended up taking advantage of the 6 bottle special. I would definitely recommend Lazy Ballerina if you are visiting St. Joes or doing a winery tour on the west side of MI.

Nice little place to have some wine. Bartenders were really pleasant and knowledgable. My only complaint is they need more seating.

I come here on occasion with my best friend. Lots of delicious wines to choose from and a very unique interior. Very cute and right now, the chairs are even decorated with tutu frills. I love the Sweet Nita, named after their grandmother, and the Pink Tutu. While there are a lot of wineries around here (and trying them all is suggested) this is the one I try over and over. I did a wine tasting here and other places to decide which was my favorite. Their wine tastings are very fun and they talk with you about your likes to help best pair you with an amazing wine.

We went to Lazy Ballerina as part of a bachelorette weekend in Michigan. This was a great winery to start with! We did a tasting and everyone really enjoyed the experience. While Michigan is typically more known for sweet wines - Lazy Ballerina had a very nice variety in wine styles. Do make sure to check your locations we thought we were headed for the tasting room with the adorable tutus on the chairs but ended up at their secondary tasting room. In the end not a huge deal we still got a great group photo :)

This place is adorbs! Seriously.... $8 for a wine tasting and you get to keep the glass, oh and you get a bonus truffle with your tasting! I visited this winery with my sister a few weeks ago...I'd say the wines are average, although I bought a decent red which pairs well with pasta & pizza. On Fridays they have a great deal on wine flights - since it was our first visit, we did a tasting instead. The man who waited on us let us try a few additional ones after we chose our 5, so that was a nice addition to our visit. They have lots of cute items to purchase in here as well - candles, glasses, wine stoppers, shirts, etc. If you're wandering around downtown St. Joseph, definitely pay a visit here!

During a fall Michigan wine tour we enjoyed our stop at Lazy Ballerina. The storefront tasting room was cute & cozy. The color scheme & decor are definitely dance inspired. Although a bit girly, the tasting room is a great backdrop for your next vino adventure. Our host was super fun and made sure we all found the perfect wine to suit taste preferences. I enjoyed the pairings with sweet & savory bites to highlight the flavor profile of each wine sample. Since we were a large group there was an issue with space/timing but I would definitely recommend a stop at the Lazy Ballerina on your next Michigan visit.

We didn't have to try and figure out directions and we could drink all the wine. We had 3 tastings and a lunch over the course of a few hours. Our Driver, Bill, was so sweet and shared so much information about grapes, wine, and local knowledge. He called that morning to check in and met us promptly at 10:45. The SUV was roomy and clean and he even had bottles of water on ice ready to go. Which we definitely needed after a few wine stops. Coming into it, I knew nothing about wine and I'm not even sure I knew Michigan had so many wineries and vineyards. Now I feel like I have a good amount of knowledge about wine and I figured out what I liked best. It was a very cool experience and my friend had a great bachelorette party.

Wow! Five stars are not nearly enough for South Shore Brew Bus and our exceptional driver Mark!…read more I had searched around trying to find the best service to take us to and from a few wineries and stumbled upon South Shore Brew Bus. We were celebrating a 40th birthday and started planning a little late. After submitting some of my info and details of what we were looking for, Chris reached out right away. He made the entire planning process painless and was an incredible help with suggestions and recommendations. I knew from the start things were going to work out well. We settled on the wine tour consisting of 3 wineries and lunch at a brewery, as well as transportation to and from each of our stops including pick up and drop off at our home! The day before our reservation I heard from our driver, Mark. Just this simple act settled some of my nerves. I was stressing leading up this about things going awry. What if our driver didn't show up? What if bookings were messed up since I booked last minute? You name it, I thought it. Mark confirmed our schedule for the day and we were set. The day of the reservation he showed up early to pick us up and start our day. We had less than perfect weather yet Mark kept us on time for each of our stops. Not only did he take care of us getting to and from each winery, he also provided us with a charcuterie tray, mimosas, and homemade cookies. He was also able to educate us and give us fun facts about each place we stopped. Mark was better than any personal assistant - it was like we've known him forever! Not a detail was left untouched. We had the BEST day celebrating thanks to Mark and South Shore Brew Bus! We are looking forward to booking a brew tour this summer!

My group of nine (eight women and myself) booked a winery tour with South Shore Brew Bus, and…read moreunfortunately our experience with our driver, Mark, left us feeling uncomfortable and unsafe by the end of the day. To start, Mark seemed friendly enough--he offered to take photos at each stop and gave us the rundown of the day. He mentioned that he had "seen it all," from wild bachelorette parties to loud groups, and reassured us that nothing we did would surprise him. Even with that, something about the vibe felt a bit off from the beginning. The girls in our group tried to include him in little moments and keep things light, but as the day went on, his energy felt stranger and more uncomfortable. The real issue happened at our last stop. Instead of Mark taking our photo like he had at every other winery (where he took multiple vertical and horizontal shots each time), I asked a random woman to do it. Right as she was about to snap the picture, Mark walked up quickly, told her he'd handle it, and took the phone from her. When one of my friends politely asked him to make sure the sign was in the background--just like he had done all day--he reacted rudely and visibly annoyed. He took only two rushed photos and handed the phone back without a word. Our entire group exchanged looks because the shift in his demeanor was so sudden and uncomfortable. Then, on the ride home, the situation escalated. Mark kept flooring the gas repeatedly, something he had never done during the previous six drives between wineries. Despite previously priding himself on being a safe driver, none of us felt safe at all. It completely ruined the end of our trip and made every woman on the bus uneasy--especially concerning given that we were a group of drinking adults trusting him to get us home safely. After we arrived back, one friend calmly addressed her concerns to him. Instead of apologizing, he got defensive. He eventually admitted he "overreacted" and said he was offended that she asked him to get the sign in the background because he's "been doing this for six years and knows how to take a photo." It was bizarre behavior, and at that point we simply tipped him and asked him to leave because he was making everyone extremely uncomfortable. Overall, our day started off great but ended on a very unsettling note. For a service that's supposed to provide a fun, relaxed, and safe experience--especially for groups of women--I can't recommend South Shore Brew Bus based on this encounter. I would strongly consider booking with a different tour company.
