This place is a gem! I was looking for a fixed gear/single-speed bike especially a brand called State Bicycles Co lines. I looked up at their site where an authorized store is in north jersey. It came up only ONE legitimate store which was this bike shop. I called them up if they had any state bicycle core-line, a friendly guy, who i later known as an owner, answered they had some but not the size i wanted as i thought it was my size according to state bicycle website as 5'3". I came by to see if another bike they had would fit me. It was actually perfect for me!! They had all different colors & sizes in stock which is unbelievable in this covid madness. The owner couple were very nice & friendly. They are in business for 35years!! Very knowledgeable and trustworthy bike shop. There were many snobby bike shops that their service fee were way expensive near me, yet this place is way better service with good price than any other bike shops. Would bring anyone who wants to buy bikes to them. I feel very blessed to find this bike shop. Highly recommended!! read more

Fact: Bikes have two wheels that need air. Fact: Bikes with one flat tire are less fun. Fact: Union Cycle Center does good work. Unfact: Potatoes grow in the ocean. I got a flat tire more or less six weeks ago, and with a busy work schedule I never managed to find the time to walk it to Flo in Hoboken to get it fixed. Then, one magical Sunday, I actually had time and...Flo was closed. As it turns out, Union Cycle Center is a shorter walk from Weehawken and they, thankfully, were open on Sunday. Not only did they take me right in, from start to finish I was out the door in less than 10 minutes. I even got to keep the gigantic nail that was so nicely lodged in my tire. The longest part of the whole experience was walking a 1 wheeled bike 20 minutes up the hill to Union City. The rest was cake. Like, a good cake. Magnolia. Not that store-bought sheet cake crap. I only wish I explored my options sooner so that I wouldn't have wasted all of those potential August biking opportunities. Well, now I know. And so do you. read more

This is a giant and other brands cycle shop. Owners were friendly as I am sure if asked them to show me how to remove tire and put back on they would.. I bought bike and they held it until able to bring it home as drove there in car that bike likely would not fit safely.There prices are not the cheapest but with covid, bikes are in short supply. read more

Fun, knowledgable duo, George and Karim (sp?) attend to the neighborhood bike shop. I brought my 15 year old Cannondale to the shop for a tuneup since, unlike the shop in Hoboken, these guys could do it same day and for a little less. I wanted a bike for commuting to work and ended up leaving with a new Schwinn commuter bike for not significantly more than what would have cost to fix up my old bike. They have a good selection and walked me through the different features and options. They also gave me discounts and let me trade in my old mountain bike (which was hard to part with). Then George prepped my new bike for me and told me the first year's maintenance is covered and to come back in after 'breaking in' the bike for adjustments. I love riding my new bike which is designed for commuting - wheel fenders, chain guard, bell, sitting position, rack, etc... I got from the shop a bright front light that beats out bad halogens and a roomy bag for the rack so I don't have to use a backpack (and minimize sweat). This bag straddles the rack with two big compartments and can handle a laptop and my lock and much more. I bike along the water to Exchange Place in JC - cutting through the Hoboken station. I love my ride and it takes almost the same amount of time as driving and the views are great plus it's better for the environment and my health. read more

I went in to ask about their services. Being an avid cyclist, I was excited to learn a shop was so close to where I live. Unfortunately I found the shopkeeper to be rude and disinterested in my visit. He sprayed Windex right in front of me as I looked into a case. He was much more interested in cleaning the glass tops over greeting me and asking if I needed help. Perhaps he thought I didn't speak English? The store looked decent with lots of bikes on display and a variety of accessories and gear. As luck would have it...I needed a tube replaced on my mountain bike. Instead of a 3 block walk, I drove 5 miles to Grove Street Bicycles in Jersey City. read more

Bikes ARE WAY TOO HIGH END, especially for that area. Its a shame because they could do a great business if they carried a few brands under 500. (or even 1000.) I mean really. You can get a great bike in Jersey city, Hoboken OR NYC for far less money. read more

This shop was probably one of the friendliest and best finds on my many bike rides between Secaucus and Ft. Lee on my way to NYC! George was kind courteous and fair on parts and labor as I had to have my rear wheel replaced due to a major bend. Really overpriced. Bought a slightly damaged item at a "discount" and later found out I was actually charged $10 over the retail price. Could have ordered a brand new unit from the manufacturer's website (or really anywhere else) and saved myself some cash. Dissapointed.
