Currently there are over 3,000 locations of Claire's in 37 countries. Claire's filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2018 in the US. This location, like most Claire's stores, offers ear piercing. Today when I visited the store, the only employee on the floor was a guy at the register. He was polite, friendly and totally at ease working at a store where the majority of customers are female. The store was neat, organised and well stocked. There is usually a sale going on such as buy three items get three free. I always find great hair accessories at Claire's. They carry headbands, clips, twisties and combs in every color imaginable. They even carry clips and headbands with artificial flowers that are very pretty for summer. Claire's carries a nice assortment of phone cases and accessories also. Their assorted animal cable bites are really cute. Claire's has such a nice variety of merchandise that there is something here sure to please every customer. I enjoy shopping at Claire's and think the store is definitely worth recommending.

If you ask for help, they respond in a dismissive monotone and quickly turn away without offering any actual help, even when it isn't busy at all. It leaves me feeling bad for even walking in and apparently annoying them. Other Forever 21s in the Portland area are fine, and I'd recommend going to literally any other location. This one seems to hire on the basis of maximum disdain for customers. It's bizarre.

It's like the clothes are trying way too hard to say, "I'm still young." They would do far better with natural fabrics vs polyester, and solids and neutrals. The one or two items I kinda thought could work, like a black quilted vest, were far too overpriced, and that was the after Christmas sale price. Now let's talk about the sizing. They created their own so that everyone is basically a number not associated with the standard sizing, so no one feels like a plus size. Ridiculous. We all know that a 4 is larger than a 0 or 1. All this does is make it impossible to figure out what size pants or top to bring into the dressing room. And to have 4-5 sizes means that each size fits a variety of shapes, so it's either too big or small. Not a fan. Chicos is big on accessories. Thing big, chunky necklaces. More bling. Belts. Scarves. If this is your style, enjoy. Me? I'll pass. Associates are friendly, my taste is no reflection on them.
