The Corblimey (roast beef, pastrami, corned beef sandwich)

Service was very friendly and speedy. We enjoyed our experience and the food was tasty. The dining area was very clean and the open deli/kitchen area also looked very clean. I like that they all wore gloves and they compost! They also had an option for gluten free bread for the Reuben I ordered. For the two sandwiches pictured, the total was $24.00. Overall, it was a very good lunch and we'd go back again.

Wow. Came here as passers by, no expectations in mind. A classic sandwich joint. Or so I thought. Service: amazing , quick, friendly, sociable. A perfect place to sit down with my friends. Delicious sandwiches (chicken ceasar wrap served pressed and oh so perfect). Would recommend to anyone who is local or happens to be near We love you Union Jack

I was in the area visiting. I saw on Yelp. I tried the haddock fried as looked good and fish in Vermont; I was expecting much. Well, haddock and batter was excellent and definitely the English batter real deal. I saw while there the subs, paninis and the hone made sub rolls 4-5 different roll options... I stopped back next day for a hot panini. I ordered the small 6" turkey club, cranberry, fresh tomatoes, cheddar cheese, on a Parmesan jalapeño sub roll . Excellent sub and the tomatoes were many and fresh and Vermont fresh ... Cranberry jam or sauce was dah bomb on sandwich. Small was my plenty and freshness of roll and flavor of roll was also key... 9.99 for sub was reasonable for quality. How can anyone even think about going to a subway when this is available. The staff super friendly, accommodating and serious about their sandwiches....

Perfectly crunchy, flaky fish. Got the lunch portion which was plenty, but we also got the full size.

Standard size fish & chips - so good!

These are the best fish & chips I have ever had! We came in on a weekday afternoon, & the guys here were super warm & friendly. They took our order & made everything fresh for us. This huge piece of fresh fish was so crispy! The fries' outsides were really crispy - but they were chunky enough to still be soft inside. Everything was perfectly salty & not greasy at all. They have a big menu here of sandwiches that sound great too. But it would be hard to come here & pass up the fish & chips. So good!! Highly recommend!

Stopped in for late lunch before heading up to the marketplace. The staff members were very friendly. I went with Fish-n-Chips for dine in, unfortunately they only had Pepsi products, so I went with water... sorry not a Pepsi fan, Coca Cola for life :) It took about five minutes for the food to come out. The fish was perfectly fried, as well as the fries. The fish was bit on the darker side, which meant that the oil needed to be changed, but it was still good. The fries were generously seasoned with salt, could have stayed in the hot oil for few more minutes for extra crisp. The fish was well seasoned and perfect amount for one person. Looks like lot of folks come in for subs, so if I'm ever in town again, will have to try their subs. Few draw backs - you can smell the oil when you walk in, the tray where the food was served was sticky.

before going i asked AI if they used iceberg lettuce, and it said yes. I can't believe they use shredded leaf lettuce on a sub. Inedible.

I picked up takeout from The Fish & Chip in South Burlington while visiting town for work. The…read morerestaurant has a very unassuming exterior but has its own private parking lot. There was a large family eating inside when I showed up to pick up my food but overall this seems like a takeout place. The menu was a mixture of Greek, American, and seafood. Not what I would have expected in South Burlington. I ordered the clam strips combo with substituted onion rings, battered mushroom, and poutine. The clam strips were disappointing, as it tasted mostly like batter and the majority of the box was filled with tiny little pieces. The fried mushrooms were good and had an interesting breading, almost like a panko style that made them feel light and airy. The best of the three dishes was the poutine: thick-cut fries covered in gravy and melted cheese. Delicious. If you need some quick takeout from a restaurant with a varied menu, try The Fish & Chip the next time you're in town.

I'm skeptical when a restaurant self-identifies as a "gastropub". The term is overused to the point…read moreof cliche these days but in this case it seemed right. The food wasn't just the standard pub fare; everything we tried that day was excellent. I had fish tacos and French onion soup. Two flour tortillas, packed with fried haddock, coleslaw, and a spicy remoulade, served with lime wedges. The tortillas were toasted for extra flavor and held together well, easily holding the generous fish portions and wet coleslaw. The fish was fresh and the batter was light and crispy. Portion size was reasonable. The onion soup was outstanding. The broth was full-bodied and rich and seemed homemade, not from canned stock - though I can't say for sure. It was a bit salty like most, but the seasonings (I noted thyme and pepper) balanced it. The cheese on top (Swiss I think) was nicely browned, the onions sweet and caramelized, and there were plenty of toasted croutons made from a French baguette. Scallions on top added color, some crunch, and completed the dish. When I got the bill I was pleased to see the soup was only $3 not $8 as listed on the menu, because they treated it as a substitute for the fries normally served with the tacos. Which was fine as I didn't really need fries - and I had some of the wife's anyway, which were very good. The wife had The Clothier: a sandwich with marinated fried chicken, pepper jack cheese, candied jalapenos, smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, and house-made spicy ranch. Excellent. For a drink I had a Citizen's Cider on tap, one of my favorites. Beers on tap - of which there were many - and the cider are offered in 16 and 22 ounce sizes. The menu had lots of options. The expected pub standards and also some unusual items liked fried green beans, tomato artichoke bisque, and an extensive baked mac & cheese selection. The desserts included "Our Famous Twiggie", a cookie (choose from 3) topped with ice cream, two kinds of syrup, and whipped cream. The cookie is baked to order and takes 15 minutes! The interior looked really nice, but the day was so pleasant we sat outside on the street-front patio, across from the St. Albans city park. It was so pretty with the bountiful floral arrangements in the park and on the sidewalks. I know it's not the restaurant's doing, but it really contributed to the ambience. Some other points to mention: The inside walls are covered with a rotating selection of local art, with the featured artist changing periodically. I don't know if the art is for sale or for display only. And the events calendar listed "Wine Wednesday" throughout August and September: 1/2 price bottles of wine. That's an event I would support!

They said it depends on the song. I asked to be seated in the main room and the hostess told us that when something opens up she's would let us know so we could move but she never returned. When we left there were plenty of seats available in the front. We certainly would have stayed and had more drinks after our meal to enjoy the music. On to the food. We basically all ordered the same thing in a different form! Haha! It was the Vermonter where you got your main dish with sautéed apples and maple bacon jam. We got the Mac and cheese, the wrap, and a burger on a gluten free bun. We were impressed with their gluten free options and the bun was so good, my daughter was nervous it was not gluten free! It was! And she felt great afterwards. All the food was good, the drinks we had were good, and the service was good. The place was cute and looked like a lot of fun if you were in the front room!
