Thank you to all those posted positive reviews. I would not have found this restaurant without them. This is the real deal. A small hole in the wall fish and chip place with great service and great created on premises food.

Amazing place if you can find it! Tucked behind another building, this is the best fish I've found in the area. I have had the fish and chips (cod) on several occasions and it's always delicious. The cod's breading has a really good spice mix, and the fish has been perfectly cooked every time I've visited. They get the fish really tender and crisp up the breading perfectly, without overcooking the fish. The owner is amazingly kind and the food comes out quickly, even when the place is busy. The fries are crispy, as you'd expect with fish and chips and compliment the fish really well. They're super generous with condiments. Everything is very fresh, and you can tell it's all made to order. The pricing is competitive and well worth some of the best fried fish I've ever had. Don't let the other reviews fool you, there's nothing sketchy about this place.

Short Version: Go here, make sure you get the spicy tartar sauce, big portions, awesome. Long Version: "The Fish & Chip?" Try "The Fish & Chip & all things fried, crispy & delicious!" We don't live far from here, and kept driving by but never stop in. I grew up eating the fish and chips, splitting time in PQ, so when we finally saw the menu, it was a Cod Platter, Fish Tacos and Poutine night. Little did we know, everything comes with fries! My wife and I made it about halfway through the order before tapping out... portion size is not an issue here. Gripes and complaints? Maybe things were a little oily, depending on your preferences. Tacos had a garden of cabbage on them, but let's face it - at my age, I need the greenery. I moved it. Cabbage is pretty cooperative. It wasn't an issue for us, and hardly worth thinking about. If you needed that itch scratched, that's all I got. Now, the real stuff... Fish Tacos: Crispy, clean, not dry at all, with plenty of greens if you want them. I pared it down, loaded them with the salsa that they come with, stacked on that spicy tartar sauce and loved it. Three to an order, when two is enough but the third you just can't say no to. Fire-toasted flour tortillas? Ding. Hit me. Cod Platter: Cod, shrimp, scallops, house battered and fried. Just like the cod in the tacos - really a light batter, crispy, golden brown. A good distance from the dark, bready stuff seen elsewhere, kind of a half-step to tempura almost. Not fishy at all in the filet, sweet shrimp and scallops, and that spice from the house tartar cuts the fry-fest. Poutine: Speak to me of the spuds, my friends. The fries here are the 1/2" square cuts, hefty and fried crispy/dark. As a side dish with malt vinegar, I love it. But head nord de la frontiere and we're home. Not the fru-fru Chef's Interpretation of Poutine... and not American Gravy Fries. Poutine. Heavy heaping helping of fries, real squeaky cheese curds, blazing hot, rich gravy over the top melting the curds down. It's ever dish of poutine you got at St. Hubert or in Montreal walking home from the bars. Spot on, simple, classic. Maple Leafs. God Save the Queen. Les Habitants. Poutine. Oh, and Bud Light in cans. To go. Madness? No. This is Fish & Chip.

One year later and visited again. It is the second place I stopped (checked into hotel and went right over) when I arrived in the area. Same review stands. Amazing food!!!!! Great host! Yummy!

Fried Cod w/ Onion rings & Cole slaw

I had fish and chips at 2 other places around Burlington and this is by far the best fried fish so far. The batter on the fried Cod was light and crispy without being greasy. The onion rings were also crispy and done well. The Coleslaw served is very decent. I called to place my order and found the lady to be polite, friendly and SPOKE ENGLISH UNDERSTANDABLY. My order was ready when I arrived at the time requested. I will definitely return to try more menu selections. In the era of Covid19, it's nice to find places serving good food for take out.

If fried is what you like this place is for you. The area in the middle of Williston Road is quick becoming an established hot spot for dining in South Burlington. In addition to Silver Palace, Everest Indian-Nepali Restaurant, Zachary's Pizza the most recent addition is Fish and Chips Restaurant to South Burlington's restaurant row. Occupying the space just behind the Everest Restaurant, the new Fish and Chips offers a vast array of fried seafood almost exclusively. On a recent holiday pre-weekend lunch visit our party of four got to select several of their menu items. Two of our party ordered the clam chowder. Both found the chowder to be just OK, not great. For entrees three of the four of our party had variations on the fried seafood lunch. Haddock and cod being the fish ordered. All were accompanied by French fries and Cole slaw. In a menu dominated by fried offering s the fourth of our party couldn't have fried seafood due to dietary restrictions. A Greek salad with a side chicken souvlaki and a side of bread and butter was ordered. It is interesting to note that an up charge of $1.95 for the bread and butter was added. The salad with chicken was a poor choice. Everything was lackluster about it. An industrial Italian type dressing in a small 1 ounce cup was served. The feta cheese was a fine dry dusting of industrial look a-like cheese product. It did not resemble the creamy, salty feta cheese that is protected by European Union Designation of Origin regulations Several pieces of brown, wilted lettuce and a core of the same lettuce were on the salad plate. The chicken souvlaki had a spongy texture not unlike what is served in inexpensive, main stream fast food restaurants. It was not good at all. Three of our party of four found their fried seafood, fries and slaw to be fine. However, if you're looking for something other than the fried style of preparation you'll best be served elsewhere.

Each menu is date-stamped, which I'm obsessed with--it's a great reminder of how fresh everything is. Vermont generally has a great local food scene, and I really appreciate the thoughtfulness behind the ingredients, presentation, and overall quality. Frankie's is a restaurant I'd highly recommend for groups, family dinners, date nights, or even corporate dinners. I'd love to come back and explore more of their wine selection. The staff is incredibly welcoming, happy to chat, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Expect to spend around $75 per person for a meal, a side or appetizer, and one drink.

They helped take our coats/hang them for us. We were always closely attended to and given time if more was needed. The homemade pasta dish we got with greens and mushrooms was fantastic! My bf liked the shrimp appetizer/smaller dish and we all liked the trout, but it seemed a little mushy/overcooked. Cons: loud/bad acoustics, dim, portion size(only for one specific dish) A little hard to hear inside when it's at peak capacity. Was at dinner with a group of four and it was quite hard to hear the person diagonally across from me the entire night. Lighting was a little too dim for my personal liking but others may not mind(for example, it was darker inside than it was outside at 6pm). Food was overall very good. The disappointments were a clam dish we couldn't even first find any clams in and then the two people who got them when we divided up the dish only got two each! And the side greens, seemed overcooked and were over-salted. Would definitely try it again would recommend to others.

Located in the Courtyard (Marriott) Hotel, only a stone's throw from Lake Champlain and close to the center of Burlington, VT, the restaurant sits just off the lobby. I made a dinner reservation and we was seated by the window with a view of the park with the lake beyond. Off to a good start. My Dirty Martini was spot-on. The perfect balance of Tito's and brine. Only missing the 'bleu' cheese olives. I often order a second appetizer as my entree. My starter was carpaccio that was outstanding. The microgreens were a nice touch. The mussels (appetizer) that I chose for my main course were small in size but ample in portion and were the perfect choice for me. My husband chose the cheese platter for his starter. It was disappointing. Two slices of bleu cheese. Should have been three different ones for $15. And no VT cheddar? Not much imagination here. His Steak Frites was OK; the quality of the beef could have been better. We shared the spinach watermelon salad which was fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and attentive.
