I have been living at Union South Bay since last year and I only have positive things to say about my experience. The community is so welcoming and the amenities are excellent. I always find myself using the clubhouse pool table, working out in the gym, and relaxing by the beautiful pool. Also, Marleni and Michelle in the leasing office are absolutely amazing. They are both incredibly friendly, professional, and always there for you whenever you need them. No matter what questions you have, they always take the time to answer and help out. The maintenance team is also great, friendly, and they provide good communication. Putting in a work order is super easy through the leasing team or on the app, and repairs are done a lot of times on the same day. would strongly advise anyone considering this apartment to think twice. The exterior walls are covered in mold, which already gives you a sense of how poorly the property is maintained. Every Saturday morning -- without fail -- the landscaping crew shows up early, so forget about getting any rest on your weekend. When my credit card was stolen in the mail room, I asked management to check the security cameras. They said they would look into it... and then nothing. No follow-up, no update, just complete silence. The building quality is terrible. You can hear everything. My upstairs neighbor walks around in the middle of the night smoking marijuana, and the smell and noise come straight through the ceiling. It's impossible to sleep. If you watch my video, you'll hear the level of coughing this causes -- imagine dealing with that all night. Lived here for 3 years during residency. The gym and the amenities are fantastic and it's what allowed me to stay somewhat in shape during a particularly busy period of my life. The maintenance staff are great and always come swiftly at your request. The management team are nice and prompt as well, and they did their best to deal with all of my concerns during my stay. 7 minutes from Harbor UCLA was a great plus. Overall, recommend! read more

Would not recommend this place to anyone. I currently live here and my place has been flooded TWICE by the kitchen sink while I'm not home. I've had to replace my kitchen mat, bathroom mat and a few items under my sink. The flooding has happened while i'm not home and i come home to a big mess and a terrible smell. They take hours to come fix the issue and they told me i would get contacted for them to fix the line which never happened. I am upset because now my apartment smells terrible and i have a baby who lives here and now has to smell and HEAR the loud noises from the machines they use. read more

I would never ever recommend this apartment development to anyone. I have lived here for two years in these "upscale" luxury living assistants. The management is entirely at fault for everything that has occurred and continues to occur in this place. From lack of security, graffiti on our apartment walls, emergency lights not plugged in, broken security doors at ALL entrances on every floor and broken garage doors that break weekly. From rift-raft everything our complexes, stealing cars, damaging personal property, and a complete lack of responsibility from the leasing office to follow-through with all police reports.... NOT SAFE!!! My car was stolen from this place and when I finally got a new car there was an attempt to steal parts the next night from purchase. When I made the police report yesterday for the attempt on my new truck the officer told me there was another vehicle stolen the same exact night. I've been living here for a month now, it's a great place, amenities are amazing and the apartments have a modern sleek look and feel. As a working adult and living on my own for the last few years this place has so many convenient services around such as ups across the street, ralphs, dining, metro system it's just nice to be within walking distance of these places. Other things, indoor gated private parking, apartment fitted with washer, dryer, fridge, and stove this place has everything you need. The fitness center is awesome, normally I have a membership to bigger gyms but this fitness center has everything I need to get a good work out. If you're going to visit please allow yourself plenty of time to park. It is complicated to find parking. The security is pretty tight and one can't open doors nor use the elevator without the chip. I felt the architecture of the structures were a bit confusing and I could not find a map of the layout. The rooftop was very breezy! They gave me a run around when I attempted to tour the property. No one would answer my calls which led me to go in person. Although I wasn't able to tour I was confident that I'd still want to live here and submitted an application that same day I attempted to tour. Unfortunately, I received no follow up to my application. When I emailed the building it took a few days for them to respond. They shared that they needed additional documents outside of what was already provided. They also shared that they ended up giving the apartment to someone else who submitted the application in person. The lack of response to phone calls and lack of communication regarding required documents left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm so glad I did not move forward with this building! I was fortunate to find a newly built property close to SoFi stadium with much better customer service. read more

Union has gone horribly down the drain since the change of management that took place a few months ago. They are taking drastic price cuts- there was an amazing on site staff previously with the original owners. The staff we have now from my understanding was from an agency and communication is the worst!!!!! I have been trying to speak with someone from the leasing office for a month now concerning my lease and have yet to receive a call back. I am a resident here! It's unbelievable that no one answers or returns calls. I don't have time to stop by the office. Also we had monthly community isolated events, that's gone now. The atmosphere has completely changed in a negative way. It also my understanding the there is a program now to assist with living cost- that's nice. However the lifestyle here has drastically decreased and not worth the pay rate. There's parties on the weekends, loud music, noisy neighbors, and clubhouse is lacking. You can't even change the Chanel on the TVs in the common area...? It may sound like nit picking but other residents below detail other components that add to this shit show. It's falling apart and instead of trying to maintain residents by communicating better adding on to the maintenance staff as the units are almost to full capacity the original small team of less than 7 continues to maintain two buildings ( they are amazing btw - overworked but amazing doing the best within their reach). The major complaints here are lack of people to help maintain this place who are KNOWLEDGEABLE and vet incoming residents. There are smokers in a non smocking building- the weed sweeps into the hallways. You can't have a aesthetically looking building with a great layout and amenities but have a bad support team. It no longer makes the experience nor make it worth its selling point. I plan on leaving once my lease ends and would not recommend this location to new tenants. read more

New staff does not seem that knowledgeable, and contacting them is almost impossible. Very certain we will not be renewing our lease with this place. I have tried to get in touch with the leasing department to see if I could schedule a viewing. I've tried for 2 weeks now leaving numerous messages and emails. No one ver returns your call. When you fill out an application online it ask at the end for $49. I don't trust them to even screen my application and return my call. I'm a bit nervous I even put my info out there. From reading the comments and the standard reply from "business owner" it seems that management is horrible here. Maybe it's a good thing they never reached out. Saved me problems in the long run. New management seems needed or some kind of investigation. So to add to this. I got the basic response from the "business owner" obviously they didn't even take the time to read my review. I'm not a resident and how am I supposed to get in contact with them if they never answer the phone or email? That was my complaint lol. read more

Sooo, decided to enjoy the pool since it's our last week here, and lo and behold, another sneaky move on management. No courtesy email was sent out. Just a note on the gate door (see picture). Later a neighbor told me an email was sent after I informed the management I wasn't leaving. I guess management can't micromanage the residents, so they decide to shut down the pool for the weekend... ON SPRING BREAK!!! Come on!!! It's infuriating to want to use an amenity you pay for and not have access because the management team does not have the skill level to run a huge residential complex like this one. Especially when a lower-level employee comes to you and says, "YOU NEED TO GET OUT! First of all, USB train your staff to be respectful SHEESH.... So what did I do, I still got in, and there is nothing they can do about it but put yellow tape after I left (neighbor sent me picture). I was happy to see so many residents get in and enjoy THEIR pool, probably after they saw we didn't get bullied out. Who shocks a pool to get it ready for summer in April (read sign)? My 5 star rating is based on the maintenance staff here at Union South Bay Apartments. Within the first 90 days of living here i've had to call for maintenance on the appliances (fridge, dishwasher, and AC) on 3 separate occasions, which is unfortunate for such a new lovely building. What I will say is that Anthony the maintenance supervisor has always been on his job, he's been very attentive, and kept me updated on arrival times and updates. Also, after the service was complete he has called to see how everything was going! Union South Bay picked the right person for the job! Thanks Anthony for all you do! PS: I've also had the opportunity to be assisted by Ana, Joe, and Valerie in the building onsite office, and they've always been helpful and eager to help! Thanks everyone! DO NOT MOVE HERE! I initially really loved living here, but since I've been here, things have gone wrong. This building has no security and your stuff is not protected here. They turned off the key fob for residents to get into the parking to prevent unwanted outsiders but people are still coming in. Packages are always being stolen .I've had my motorcycle stolen from the fifth floor and when I went to ask to see footage they acted like they were going to help me and didn't. This building has no cameras, and they try to treat you like boo-boo the foo. I've also had my car stolen out of here and again they have not helped. They always tell me to wait for the manager and the manager does not help either. I paid a lot of money to be in this apartment just for no protection. This will be my last time living here. Please do not move here. The "luxury" is not worth it. This building is so full of shit. read more

0/10 don't recommend moving here. I've been here almost 12 months. I was excited in the beginning but this building is a perception of "luxury". I was told my home was a smart home but shortly after move in they disabled that feature. Doors/gates are always broken, cars getting broken into in the garage, non residents Parking in residents spaces, packages are stolen from mailroom (they have parcel lockers but those are broken majority of the time), hallways don't have a/c and smell like weed from other people smoking. A lot of residents have been complaining but nothing has changed which is leading people to break their lease. Management always send out apology emails but that solves nothing lol. Also, I was 3 days late on rent and they sent me an email saying I was going to be evicted lmao, like what happened to a 30 days notice ?? Btw I've been on time the last 10 months I've been here. Now, they have the audacity to go up in price an extra $200 lol. This place is not worth $3,000+ (not including utility/fees) for a tiny 1bdr apt. And on top of that Maria, the manager is very rude. My lease agreement has the wrong address as well lol. I will be moving ASAP. read more

This apartment used to be a dream. We moved in when it was brand new and managed by a different property management company. A few months later during COVID19 the property was sold and enters AMC-CA. Just recently a new property manager Maria has taken over and she is a whole mood. They deactivated everyone's gate opener so that you have to go into the office and reactivate each opener, one by one. More importantly no one seems to have direct answers to important questions and Maria definitely has an attitude/ customer service issue. Don't come for a tour if anyone in your party forget their ID. Came for a tour in May. Had an appointment. Waited 15 minutes beyond our scheduled time. Because my son forgot his ID. We couldn't do the tour. Made no sense to us. My husband and I had our identification. Definitely not a good vibe from the manager that was on the phone the whole entire time we were there. RECOMMENDATION: politely place your client on hold and ask the person/s to wait 5 or 10 minutes to complete your call. Simple. Really you're that busy! I have live here for two years now. Certain doors entering have not been fixed for months now. The complex overall is beautiful however for the amount of money each tenets pays their should be cameras in the parking structures. There's has been multiple break ins and unfortunately I have also been a victim. It's not cheap to fix broken windows for newer model's. I hope they take into account the safety of the tenets. We no longer feel safe since it's been brought to their attention from other tenets and it seems nothing has been done about it. Mind you it's expensive to live here. read more

This review is solely for housekeeping and maintenance. During my stay I have been very impressed by the efforts of Carmen, Blanca and Anna. Even though they are understaffed they manage to do an incredibly difficult job with a smile on their face. I don't know how they manage. Some days there is only one of them working on 2 buildings, 357 units, plus common areas including barbecues. I can go on and on about how much they are required to do but that would make for a very long review. I wish corporate would realize what jewels they are and pay them appropriately. As for maintenance, both Fernando and Rick are excellent at their jobs and both deserve raises. Anthony also always has a smile on his face despite the many issues he confronts on a daily basis. I have to mention Vanessa, our leasing agent, who is currently on maternity leave. She is very knowledgeable about the laws pertaining to tenants rights and corporate' responsibilities. If only she was Manager this would be a much better place to live. Unfortunately corporate prefers management that follows their lead. read more

Worth a look if you need a South Bay Apt. We've been hear almost 9 months and have been pretty satisfied. The good: management is kind and responsive. Every time I've sent and email I typically receive a response within 48 hours, usually sooner. Maintenance is good and they're prompt. I suggest using the online platform to make your requests. Pool stays pretty clean and any time I may wonder about the cleanliness, someone is cleaning shortly after. (Usually just regular tree debris). Gym is FIRE. If you want a good gym in your apt, look no further. Only "complaint" is needing more mirrors to check form and the chatty gym peeps during the day. Hallways are quiet. Things to be mindful of: sometimes the loading dock can be full of junk. They recently had someone remove the junk, but that's been my main issue since I've been here. I've had family come and deliveries come and I know how trash at your "front door" can impact how people view/respect the space and bring rodents etc. There are times when you may need to double check with management about follow through, but they are usually on it. I believe some things are overlooked because they don't live on the property, so it's on a list, but not a high priority. As a tenant things like the lobby door, the signs in the hallway guiding people, the elevator number signage, and the fire alarms can be a minor issue. Anyhow it's a great place to stay, as a home owner I miss having my own space. I've heard of things going on in the parking garage, but I haven't had any issues. read more

I am going on my third lease here with them and I've had this problem with all three units that I have been in. I would not recommend moving in to any of the apartments that have had previous residence with this carpet in there, all three of the units I have had had stains, that were not done by me. This one I just moved into and when I first moved in the carpet was cleaned I believe, you couldn't see any of the stains, and it seems as if the more that you walk on it the more these things pop up and they're not foot print stains. They're clearly spill stains or some other type of stains. I requested to have new carpet put in due to the fact that I am having a baby and would like a fresh carpet for him but I was told that because I am already moved in that they can't replace the carpet. I wish I would have seen these stains before hand if I would've known that you but yeah. If you're moving in here, I would ask to make sure if it was brand new carpet put in or if the carpet was just cleaned. Other than this problem the amenities are great the management has gotten better from any complaints I could've had read more

Hello I hope all is well I just wanted to go ahead and let you guys know that at 11:13pm on 9/4 I called maintenance emergency number because my thermostat went out and my AC was not working my kitchen thermometer said it was 82° in my house. When I called the number Fernando answered and he was extremely professional and expressed his empathy towards the situation he mentioned that he would call his boss and if his boss didn't answer he would be on his way. Fernando arrived not even 20 minutes later and apologize for the wait and mentioned his boss didn't answer so he came as quick as he could. Fernando was extremely professional and definitely went above and beyond to help me out. Not only did he fix my AC problem he also went downstairs to bring back a new filter for the AC and fix the direction of my ceiling fan. Fernando is definitely someone that should be in a supervisor position because not only has he helped me a few of my neighbors have also mentioned that he's been extremely helpful around our apartment complex I really hope that he gets recognition for his hard work as that is nowadays something that's not too common. read more

This place is so bad. Please stay away, ever since avenue 5 left and AMC took over. This place has gone downhill so quickly. The staff are terrible, the front desk person doesn't know anything and always has a terrible attitude. The mangers don't know what's going on. People's cars are being broken into. I pay 3000+ for my "luxury" apartment and we can't even get security here. This place is a joke. You can't leave your place without thinking your apartment will get broken into or your car windows being smashed in. Packages are being stolen everyday and the staff seriously don't not care one bit. Many residents complain but instead of listening and fixing the situation. They ignore it and just want your money. People are breaking their lease because they can't take it anymore. Maintenance is a joke as well. Even the neighbors are putting up bulletins and the staff take it down because they don't want to look bad. Please stay away. All the previous reviews could not be more spot on. Ever since AMC took over as the new management company things have went downhill. We also had a year and a half lease and were so happy to get out. The garage door was always broken allowing for unauthorized parking. The elevator would break down every so often so it also took them a week to fix that. Management is quick to post notices on people's doors about missed rent and quick to collect money but when it comes to attending to it's residents and up-keeping of the property, good luck if you ask them to have something done in one week. Out of the 4 electric chargers on one side of the building only two ever worked so everyone was always fighting for charging. There were always dog feces and pee left on property grounds so they weren't enforcing that. Security, like another previous resident had mentioned, was a joke. The security guard was never seen walking around and always changed weekly. There would be cigarette smoking coming from other apartments and management would say they could do nothing about it unless you brought them a picture of someone else smoking, hence doing their job for them to find out who was smoking. If you called the property they would never answer resident calls, but if you select you were interested in leasing they would answer immediately. If you tried to speak to the property manager, you were told she was always busy and needed to set up an "appointment." I could honestly go on with the complaints but this would end up being an essay. Please do yourself a favor and do NOT rent here. It is not a "luxury" apartment complex you would be paying expensive rent for. read more

I lived here for a year and half and did not like it one bit. I couldn't wait for my lease to be up. They say they have security but all it is, it's a guy sitting in his car the whole time not walking around or anything. So it's useless to call him a security. The pool and jacuzzi had people in it even after it should be closed, the security should've kicked them out but he can't if he's in his car. People leave the trash in the hallway and smoke marijuana so if you have your patio door open and you don't smoke you will need to close it. We would bring in dog hair from walking in the hallway and we don't even have a dog. They rarely vacuumed the hallways. When I would call the leasing office they wouldn't answer the call from residents but if you pressed the option for new lease they would answer. The people at the office were useless and would say they didn't know and you would have to call back later to speak with someone that knew. The gate to get into the parking garage would break down every other day. I'm glad to be out of this place. read more
