This community is great, I called it home for the last 4 years and just moved out because of work. I've lived in quite a few apartment buildings in the past and the way Linden staff treated and cared about our needs was just incredible, and the neighbors were simply a blessing. When we decided to move from Pasadena to Long Beach, my husband had strict criteria he wanted met before we signed a lease. Mainly easing into his retirement, less rent was number 1 (check). And as for amenities, he also asked for: Heat and air conditioning (check) Secure underground parking (check) Additional amenities we also got by moving here included a heated pool and gym on premises. And the neighborhood is fantastic!!! Bordering Bixby Knolls, there are so many walkable destinations nearby, including the SteelCraft outdoor food court, many craft beer, pub and wine bars, local boutique shops, and so much more for me to explore. The manager Faby will drive you crazy. I like to keep to myself but she questions everything you do will call you no matter what time of day/night it is. She is extremely invasive and rude. I do not recommend this place and wish they had a different manager. read more

Best place to call home! When I was looking to rent, I was so grateful for the "bad" reviews about Linden Plaza. It helped me decide to rent here because I could tell the manager doesn't put up with nonsense from disruptive residents. My family relocated from the east coast and rented the apartment sight unseen. However, the manager was so sweet and made a video of the community (where to eat, shop, some tidbits about the neighborhood) and gave us a live video tour of the place on her day off. She even told my husband to speak with the resident that was moving out about the apt before we applied (and we did; he said great things about her and place too). After living here for 3 years, I can easily tell you that the manager genuinely cares about about her residents' safety, making sure residents enjoy their space (peace & quiet), and maintaining a clean, pest-free building. She and the fabulous maintenance team are communicative, respectful of your time, and are always on top of things! She's addressed noisy neighbors, people smoking pot, etc. The people who consistently violate the rules...We don't have those neighbors anymore :) Even in the adjacent building, when they became a nuisance, she worked with the other property manager and the police. If you want a safe, clean, and quiet place to live, this is your apartment. It's typical of the disgruntled people that have been evicted to complain. Better for us residents if it helps keep the unruly people away. read more

I lived at the Linden Plaza apartments for about 2 years, and I enjoyed my experience here. The first thing that I noticed when I moved in was the elevator. This helped me save my back from all the moving. The apartment managers are responsive to any issues that come up at the apartment, and they consistently provide the residents with updates. One time my bathtub got a little clogged, and it was promptly fixed after I put in the workorder request. There was also an issue with a neighbor who smoked in their unit, and it was immediately addressed by the manager. There are some strict rules and procedures, but they are there to keep the apartment clean and safe for its residents. The location is on the edge of Bixby Knolls with plenty of good restaurants and neighborhood activities nearby. I would recommend this place to any of my friends, and I in fact referred one friend who loves the place. read more

I'm not one for writing reviews, but have to comment cuz all this people with there bad reviews on this place are trippin'. It's funny how they don't say what 'they' were doing wrong, which neighbors complained to manager about. I've been at Linden Apts in Long Beach for 3 years. This place rocks!! There's garage parking and heated pool. I've been reading these posts...these chicks Minon and Tiffany were such a freakin' nuisance in the building, I'm glad they FINALLY got rid of them. Sad, cuz the husbands were both cool dudes. There's a lot of rules here which is great by me cuz folks get unruly at times and management here don't play with nonsense or folks trashing the place they'll write folks up. My only complaint is that there's only one indoor parking space, but the cheap rent and small $30 increase makes up for it. My last apt hit me up for $200 increase, so I bounced. My pad is pretty big. There mostly young professionals here, mostly late 20's-30's, lots of cute single nurses, so you won't here complaining from me bro. read more

I would be careful in renting from this apartment complex. Let me say I am leasing consultant and I have 2 years of experience in the field. I had a phone conversation with the current manager. She was asking questions that are against fair housing laws. She questioned personal details about my relationship and got upset after I told her I did not feel comfortable with the questions she was asking (given these are questions you should never ask a renter). She was adamant about not responding details of the unit until I responded first to her questions. She then proceeded to say we did not qualify when I did not answer her questions without first submitting any applications and even after knowing my boyfriend and I make 5+ times the rent. Please be careful. This manager needs to be reported to the Department of Housing. read more

I moved into this complex, almost 6 years ago and It really has been a pleasant experience. One standout feature is the manager's exceptional responsiveness in addressing any issues - she prompt and efficient, ensuring a hassle-free living experience. I have never once seen a bug or pest in my years here (that was a very big deal for me). The value for the rent is impressive, considering the array of amenities provided - from a well-equipped gym to a pool area plus ac a dishwasher and parking space. The building exudes a tranquil ambiance, making it a peaceful place to come home too after a long day. People should remember that this is a large apartment, so the manager really doesn't tolerate loud, disrespectful, and hard to live with tenets, it is still a community. This isn't going to be your place if you want to throw parties, or leave your clothes in the communal space for hours, and can't adjust to a large complex of over 100 people. Overall, I have enjoyed my time - the value and cleanliness of this place along with all of the amenities I was seeking made it a no brainer. read more

My family and I have lived at linden plaza for about 4 years now and we absolutely love it! I love when my family visits because they are always commenting on how clean everything is and how good it smells when they walk into the lobby! Our maintenance crew and manager do such a great job keeping this place safe and clean for us. Many people complain about strict rules, but honestly people can be dirty and not care that other people live around them. I'm often home with my children during the day and I feel so safe knowing that we have many rules enforced to ensure our safety. This is our second time renting and coming out of college we wanted to find something that was nice and affordable. Here at linden we are lucky to have the amenities that we get for the amount we pay (heated pool, well equipped gym, CLEAN laundry rooms, safe personal parking with surveillance...just to name a few). I know we really are getting more than most renter around us because I've asked around and know people renting in the area. I would recommend linden plaza over and over again! read more

I've been looking at places for a family member and saw the posting of my own building, Linden. I keep seeing negative posts from former neighbors, but no one wants to talk about the positives and about how clean and safe this place is. And how helpful the building staff is. Maintenance will show up at any time of day or night, if needed. I have lived here for over 6 years, and I was LUCKY to find a place where the landlord stays on top of deficiencies on the property. The condo I lived at prior, you couldn't get anyone in the office to respond in a timely manner when there were issues. Wish there was a vacancy for my cousin. read more

Well I'm not necessarily here to change my review. I stand on my two stars. that was my experience overall and I'm not basing it on anyone elses review but that of my own. My dissatisfaction is with yelpers who make it a point to come defend and make sweeping judgements and statements like "why didn't you just leave"...well I'm sorry... at the time I was newly married and had been on track to saving for a home. Not to mention both my husband and I both being very systematic knew what our goals were and nothing I mentioned was grounds for us just moving without reasonably going through the steps to try to get these things address. Its also very incovenient and darn near impossible to just thrown in the idea of moving when your building a career and have things going on that require a large degree of stability. Its just like anything else in life (like a job for instance). You deal with things you don't want to sometimes but meanwhile are working towards something else. We were in no way stuck there. We had stable jobs and a savings so again, maybe we were naive to think the management would actually fix the few small things after months and months of it clearly being this way. We were not problematic tenants, always paid on time, had a super clean apartment, and trust me overlooked a whole lot more that I did not mention. We too had good experiences but as I mentioned they have nothing to do with the management and the poor services that were given especially at the time when we were asked to move. I especially have to agree with the comments I read about the "no dog" polcies. To see the manager with her dog but being told no dogs were aloud was something we knew about, but always overlooked. Again we didn't make a big deal out of matters that didn't affect our living experience. But I could see how it poses as a double-standard to others who desire to have small dogs. My whole point is I always encourage people to look before they leap. And I would advise the same sentiments to any yelper who dare tell a person stating their experience was far less of a joyous one than others, that they are simply complaining! thats just rude and how exactly can we make our best judgement if everyone feels bullied into giving favorable remarks? As for my own reviews they are public, as are everyone elses. You can clearly see I am not a person just jumping on yelp to give negative reviews. There are some people who are serial complainers, and its very easy to spot them. Simply put if a person only has negative reviews about EVERY establishment, then that persons review may be more personal than anything OR that person is just impossible to please and may just have an unrealistc expectation regarding service. However that STILL does not negate the possibility of truth to their complaints either. I personally have only ever given low stars (or high) stars where its deserved and thats only after a stretch of time when the establishment has been tried over and over so my reviews are what they are. Nothing added or taken away. Overall I still say the best thing this building has going for it is the location. I really enjoyed being where I was, however everything else I mentioned in my previous review was 1000% true. read more

I can't even believe these other reviews ... !! This place has the perfect location. One street up has anything you can think of from jack in the box to a broil place to fed ex and target. This is my first time moving out of my families home, and the apartment manager really helped me out and made this dream possible for me. Not only was she super awesome and understanding, but she was so down to earth, and understood my situation. I have never met someone so amazing !!! I am truly blessed !!! So i moved here , and not even a week later they re-did the plumbing and piping in the entire building. If I ever have an issue, which never occurs, they are on it and respond immediately. They are pretty much amazing !! The owners are always upgrading the property inside and out.... and it looks awesome. There is a beautiful pool and lounge area, and awesome laundry on every level. What more can you ask for? The building is secured and the parking is underground. This makes me feel super safe :) This apartment is awesome... especially for someone just moving to the area. Moved out from Linden almost a year ago but never gave this place or Fabi credit. Great living experience for an affordable price. Community is nice and friendly. The building is pretty well kept and any repairs are done in a timely manner with advance notice given. Fabi is an awesome manager and is very responsive and respectful, she knows everyone on a personal level. She works to keep the building nice and is strict with the rules but that's a good thing. Highly recommend if there is an availability that you take advantage of it. read more

When I need a repair, management is always prompt about resolving any issues I might have. I lived here for a year and a half. It's located in a nice part of Long Beach, just on the southern tip of the Bixby Knolls neighborhood, which is convenient, as is it's proximity to the Wardlow Blue Line train station and other Long Beach Transit bus lines. Building itself is a 3 story converted-motel style building with pool, fitness center, elevator, and parking garage. Each room has its own water heater, wall-unit A/C, furnace, and dishwasher, and the fixtures are relatively new. On the flip side, there's no refrigerator, and the bathrooms are pretty small. You may find it to be a value given it's affordable pricing for the uptown region, though. Management consist of an on-site manager and 1 on-site maintenance, and an off-site owner that comes around occasionally. Recently, an evening security guard was employed, unknown for how long. Management is prone to severe shifts in attitude, and quite stubborn at times. Recently the maintenance person of 13 years was terminated after both sides aired their dirty laundry for the tenants quite frequently. When I moved out, I received high praise during my exit walkthrough, and was told I would get just over half my security deposit back...because they "legally HAD to" do some shampooing and cleaning. I accepted that...and then when it finally got mailed, got hit with a surprise $100 extra deduction for "painting fee." Despite how clean it was at the time, they apparently just HAD to repaint the place, but didn't tell me until later. She even wrote out a completely new form, one I didn't sign, and enclosed it with the deposit, not the original. I called her on it, and she agreed to refund the extra deduction, but refused to acknowledge her mistake. Oh well. I guess that's why I'm giving an average rating. Just be very cautious and pay close attention when dealing with management, and you should be alright. Finally, all leases are month-to-month with 30-day written notice. read more

I've lived here for over 20 years and it is the best managed apt bldg, especially during these unprecedented times. Working for an essential company, my day starts at 5 am. Linden mgt (Fab) ensures neighbors are mindful of tenants privacy, space & time. The bldg is well maintained - clean (dumpsters do not smell) because of a hard-working crew that gets things done. Mgt places notices in the elevator & other common areas to keep tenants posted on various subjects - especially COVID related issues. I am thankful Fab has shut down the pool area to keep tenants safe. She is a dynamo. I'm grateful for all she does for Linden Plaza Apts. read more

I live there for over 5 years I lived there through 3 managers Lisa, Dawn and then Faby. No problems with the first two managers but when Faby took over she went on a power trip. I caught her in my unit and when I complained to the owners she told me she would evict me (which she did) she was very unprofessional and fraudulent. Till today my credit is ran for credit cards constantly I have to pay to keep my credit on lock the companies advised if o can verify the address they can tell him who or at least where it's coming from and guess from where Linden Plaza. If Fabiola is still running that building I advise you run now and do not let her get hold of your social security number. My review is very accurate and will stay up! While looking for my upcoming new home, I said let me try a familiar place, so I decided to call Linden Plaza never could get anyone to answer the phone I had left a number of messages still no reply. Then in Nov. 2018 I called again and she answered (Fabiola Christopher) said she was the manager there, I informed her that I'd been calling and leaving messages with no reply, she (Fabiola) said she did'nt get them. So we talked, I told her when I would be moving back to they area. So in Feb. 2019 I called no answer, no reply. In March 2019 I called no answer, no reply. While in the area looking at other places, I stop at Linden Plaza, I asked a guy that was moving if they had new management he said NO (Fab) was still the manager. He also told me he wouldn't recommend this place, that was a surprise. I did notice that 3 people were moving out at the same time. So on April 1, 2019 I went back to Linden Plaza and spoke with the Manager (Fabiola) I told her my name and that I had been calling to see if that had anything available, she told me they didn't have anything available, and that's why she did not return any of my calls, I then told her the proper thing to due was to SAY that, Not to just let me keep calling that's UNPROFESSIONAL. Oops, I hit a button she told me to stop calling because she wouldn't rent to me, because I call to much. A Professional Manager would never tell someone that, unbelievable. So remember she (Fab) told me they didn't have anything available, well 3 days later (Fab) call my Niece and invited her to come see a unit. The games people play. I just referred my coworker to Linden Plaza in Long Beach and she said 'although I don't pay attention to comments on yelp because it's always disgruntled people, I just wanted to check out the photos, but what's was up with all the negative reviews?' After I read them and thought about it, I actually was so grateful for all though nasty comments about the building and the manager Fab, because It keeps all of the riffraff from coming to live here! I've been living here since 2013. And the place used to be so ghetto!! Prior managers Dawn and Lisa never got anything done And would allow the tenants to run the place. They vandalized the washing machines, Leave trash all over the buildings. Constantly you'd hear couples fighting. Folks would smoke blunts in the hallways or balconies. It was a nightmare. It seemed like the cops always around. When Fab, came aboard, Everyone was concerned because she started cracking the whip. One by one folks were being asked to leave. But we noticed it was all the people that were doing stupid shit around the building. Soon Linden got extremely quiet... even late at night. And they started making all of these renovations around the building. I'm on the third floor and when I complained of a leak in my ceiling That couldn't seem to be repaired. They put me and my kids in a decent hotel for two nights and few months later they put a new roof in the building. 3 weeks of loud Noise from the construction sucked but no more leaks.. I noticed all of the folks saying crap are most of the ones that received eviction notices on their door or the pissed off ones who complained to us for weeks about getting the boot for trashing the place. And then they take to their best friend Yelp. I haven't noticed one bad post on there from any of the folks that currently live here now. If I were the Landlord I would encourage all of these nasty messages about Linden to keep coming, becuz It's going to keep all of them nasty, loud folks out. read more

If you are considering renting from here I would turn the other way. The manager of this building is very unprofessional. I voiced my opinion about some dislikes and the next day I was retaliated with a 30 day notice on my door. I literally just had a baby, which he was only 2 months when we were put out unexpectedly. It was very inhuman of her to do something like that. When I tried to go above her she told me she would not give me the contact information to the owner. It's not worth paying your hard earned money to someone if you cannot voice yourself, & if you do you risk being put out. I didn't move in or even stop by because I was able to renegotiate my lease with a new management company at the last second, but I wanted to thank Fab in the rental office for being so friendly and helpful on the phone. It was one of the better conversations I've had with another person in a while. Based on my week-long research of options I thought Linden Plaza Apts. was my best option if I had to relocate. The location is convenient, the neighborhood is decent (you never realize how good you have it in your "iffy" neighborhood until you see where other apartments are located), as far as I can tell the building and apartments are better than not good (I drove by but didn't go in), they seem to have openings each month, and if Fab is in the office I'd probably have no troubles interacting with management. Gladly I didn't have to leave where I am now but after experiencing Craigslist hell I can tell friends they have what might be a decent option. read more

If you like getting sleep, or not being disturbed by people partying way too loud late into the night, stay away from this building and any place near it. The super clearly doesn't care that the tenants are loud and obnoxious, so i cant imagine that they are very good at taking care of things in general. read more

I only had positive things to say about this apartment complex until it came to moving out and was given incorrect information, resulting in them holding nearly all of my security deposit! I was told by the apartment manager that the man who took my keys (and check) did not work there and I would not be given back my security deposit, despite what I had previously been told. The year I lived there was okay, but I couldn't believe they held so much of my security deposit when I left the apartment in perfect condition. The location is also kind of weird, my bike was stolen from the complex, and it is on the rougher side of Long Beach. read more

My mother, brother and I have been living in these apartments since 1999. We have recently moved down the street into a better residence and we do not regret the change at all. The managers prior to Leesa have all been professional and great. Leesa on the other hand ran the building down to the ground with her double standards and "power trip." She posts immature letters of threats in the never working elevator even to go as far as to put a copy of someones check blanking the name but stupidly displaying their account number. Professional much? Shes never at the office during business hours. On many occasions having expected important packages, she was no where to be found. She keeps a dog with her but tells the rest of the residents that they would be evicted if found with a dog as well. Recently I have went on maternity disability and attempted to get my disability stubs from Linden Plaza. She threatened to call the cops at me from the first floor balcony out in public as if I was doing some terrible crime to her. Mind you, I am a young, pregnant nursing student simply trying to get my disability stubs. I dont look and expect to be treated like some criminal. Leesa is incredibly rude and arrogant as well. I knocked on her.office door during business hours and she yelled "the office is closed!!!" Even though it wasnt. She never takes care of business as a manager and the new maintenance manager is just as terrible. I lived in these apartments since 1999 and to be treated with such disrespect is ridiculous.
