Smaller venue than I'm used for watching a band but felt nice and cozy. We saw Friko last night and what a great show! We opted for the seated area, so get your wrist band... Tables are a little tight but we were able to sit comfortably and still see the stage. Come early to grab your table. We already had dinner at a nearby restaurant so I can't really comment on food but people around us kept commenting on how good their food was... so we will definitely do that next time.

Union stage us a smaller version of the 9:30 club. There's no seating except for a few tables in the back of the room. It didn't look like it had much elevation, so if it's a packed show, you may likely need to stand as well. There are food and drink specials typically before showtime. The service was prompt. The margaritas are tasty, they have an extensive beer menu including IPOs and the pizza has a nice crisp thin crust (average flavor). I do appreciate the option to buy a half pizza. Union stage successfully serves it's purpose.

By far my favorite D.C venue. Yummy pizza, drinks priced averagely for D.C. and there's not a bad spot in the venue to see any shows! It never seems to get too crowded or overwhelming. The bartenders are always super nice as well.

    What a great show!

Just saw The Pineapple Thief here a few days ago. The show was excellent. This is my second concert here at this venue. I saw Soen here earlier in 2024. The venue has street level access but the stage is underground. It's easily accessible though. The staff is very accommodating. Drinks and food are available at the bar. Would recommend you visit.

I love the close vibes of union stage, this is the second time I've been to the venue and it's been great both times. The staff and the service if great and so were the wings I had! Hoping for more concerts here in the future

The pepperoni pizza is absolutely delicious and the drinks are great as well! I've attended two concerts (Taylor Acorn + Loveless & Cherie Amour, Honey Revenge + Arrows in Action) here and the bartenders both times were fantastically friendly. The staircase going to the basement/show area is covered in band stickers and it's amazing to see how many bands have been at such a cozy location. Restrooms are also very neat and clean.

12 dollar happy hour gets you a half pizza and draft beer. Pizza itself is pretty decent, nothing special- the crust tends to run a bit dry. The cheese is pretty solid though. Beer selection for drafts was great- they have some great dark beers that I tried. There is a 20% gratuity included regardless of party size so my friend accidentally tipped 50%, just something to keep in mind.

I am 5 foot 11 inches and could barely see Heilu Mergia when he sat down to play

Can I bring my raccoon here?

    sorry, no.

Can I buy tickets to a show at Union Stage at the Jamin Java box office?

    yes!

Can I order a pizza to go at the end of an 8pm show?

Yes they have mostly light fare but all good like pizza and more. Check their website. The entrance…

Which show are you interested in?

Can you buy a ticket at the door? The event says sale ended

Yes, unless the show is sold out.

Is the pizza shop open during the listed hours or just when there's a concert?

Union Stage serves pizza any day we are open starting at 5pm or Union Pie is open at 11:30am every day!

Is the tap room 21+? We have tix for an all ages show and want to go early.

    It is all ages!

Can I buy tickets for shows ahead of time at the box office? If so, what are the hours?

yes! any day after 5 pm. thanks.

If you have multiple premiere plus tickets, are you guaranteed a seat together as a group or just guaranteed a seat? Thanks!

First come, first serve. Seats aren't assigned. Premier plus just means you can sit at the bar tables/chairs in the back. I'd recommend showing up early, it's hard to find seats at all let alone together if you merely show up on time.

Do we need to print tickets out or can we just show them the barcode?

If you have electronic tickets (through an app or email) they can just scan those. No need to print.

What's the food situation at Union Stage? Do you have anything for vegetarians?

we have a very simple menu - pizza and salads, but there are plenty of vegetarian options between the two!

Fries, 1 chicken & 1 cheeseburger slider, and the Pearl Street Lite Lager hit the spot! There's indoor/outdoor seating, standing area right in front of the stage, and blocked off restaurant style seating in the back of the venue. It's small and perfect for bands with a niche crowd. It feels a little divey without being dark, dirty, or grungy. The show started at 8pm and the band performed for about an hour and a half. Perfect plan if you want to hang out during a work night! I tried to find parking along the street, but I ended up biting the bullet and went to a garage nearby. It was worth it; ran me about $25.

Not sure how the shows affect regular patrons, but I showed up about a half hour before the show started. I showed my ID and ticket to the host, and went on inside. The venue is nice -- and the stage area is fairly small. There are several tables that can be reserved as well, but they're behind the standing area, so it might be tough to see the stage if there are any tall people. We enjoyed the show and I thought the sound system was good. There was no barrier between the people and the stage, so it felt intimate and I would go back. I need to try their food and drinks!

The music venue is located below the Hamilton, a storied dining experience in the 600 block of 14th Street in D.C. Doors would open at 6:30 p.m. for a performance that would begin, right on time, at 8 p.m. I travel alone, and prefer not to join tables, opting instead to sit where single seats are available. The Hamilton - Live offers both: most of the seating is in groups of 4- or 6-seat benches where groups gather, and there are rows of single seats on a slight rise above the forward seating, offering a great view of the stage and the screens above the stage. I arrived around 7 p.m. Within minutes Marie greeted me with a menu and instructions to post a card on a holder at my place, signaling her to stop by to take my order. The menu was eclectic, with sushi, pizza, tacos, salads, wings, cheeseburger sliders, and nachos. There are robust vegetarian and gluten-free selections, and a fully licensed bar. I placed the card in the holder at my seat and Marie returned to take my order: sushi - shrimp tempura ($14), with a can of Nutrl Pineapple ($8) and a double G&T ($23.18). The crowd was gathering, and the attending wait staff were moving with speed, filling orders. My meal arrived in great shape about 15 minutes after I placed the order. Nicely executed sushi! Sound quality in the venue is great, and the restroom was clean and well lit. And as the catalogues of both the Dead and Steely Dan inspire dancing, the dance floor was filled right from the start. The band's vibe was low key and spontaneous, with lots of smiling on the dance floor. Total with a 22% tip was $79 (which included a white Russian nightcap). Reasonable fare for the DMV. Taxi, Uber, and Lyft are readily available from the venue.
