$1400 in rodent damage and rising!!! And all they want to do is sell us more expensive bait traps, when the ones already on the property did nothing to help. There was no apology, but loads of excuses, mainly putting blame on the California EPA. What I don't understand is if the EPA is making it impossible for your company to do what it's tasked with doing then why be in business at all? A lot of companies would have tried to keep a customer by--well first of all being nice and even a tiny bit contrite god forbid--but maybe even throwing some bones, like offering some free service, or maybe not charge for the extra traps which didn't work anyways. It wouldn't come close to what we had to play for the damage but it would have been a sign of goodwill that would have been much appreciated. In fact this is a very, very common practice in business customer service, the idea being that nothing is more important than developing life-long customers, who, even if they are upset, would at the very least not give your company any bad press. But I just need people to know that if they hire this company you may still have significant and costly damage. In fact in the many years before we first hired a pest control company we never had any issues like this. So again I ask myself, what is the point in paying a company to control rodents when the exact thing that did not happen in this case was to control rodents?! And you'll likely have terrible customer service to boot. In all fairness I have to add that the guys who regularly come to our property are really nice and respectful gentlemen, and my wife always feels secure having them on the property. It is very hard for me to write this review as a loyal customer of Unipest. I have been with them for a very long time and through two homes. We always been super happy about their services. Their people come on time, they do a good job, etc... During the Pandemic, while we al were busy, apparently my credit-card on-file expired. They had called and left me a VM that I never checked. Six months later i noticed that they have not been coming, I called to inquire and their son did a wonderful job in explaining to me what had happened. I provided a new CC, they charged the balance. This was on Wednesday and he said they would be out on Friday to resume service. Apparently they couldn't come on a Friday, they called as usual and left me a voicemail that they are coming on a Monday. Sadly, I didn't see this VM as I am dealing with a health situation and had a specialist appointment that day. I noticed the technician pulling up when I was leaving, I profusely apologized and told him I've been waiting for the appointment for months. Here is the problem: On that day, I called the office and the "mother" picks up. She seemed incredibly rude, very impatient and reprimanded me continually for missing the appointment. I was VERY apologetic, and eventually became frustrated. It seemed like she was on power trip. I told her I've been their customer for 5+ years and have never missed an appointment. She said this was my second one in 5 years and couldn't provide me which first one I had missed. I literally begged her to get over it and to please reschedule me, she refused to do it - and said she would have her son call me and never received a call again. Since then, I have moved on to another company in the area. My message to UNIPEST : I am shocked, after being a loyal customer for 5+ years, always paid on time, always treated your team with respect, never called you between services, never complain when you service declined and you started not spraying the back yard or leaving spider webs around the property - to not have empathy or loyalty back to your customers is shocking. I wish you the best in your future, but you have lost a very loyal customer. This past year you have become highly disorganized, you have a new system, word out you sold the company - and there are multiple reviews that show similar pattern. This company was really good when we first started using them. They found our rodent problem and sealed up our house. They were really good with communication and being on time for set appointments. However, after several months to a year later of hiring them for monthly spray service and rodent trap checkups they started being late or didn't show up on the day they said they would, and weren't refilling or checking our rodent traps. In my opinion they overcharge for the rodent traps for an upfront fee when you can get similar ones on Amazon for much cheaper and just do it yourself. After canceling the service they forgot a rat trap and I opened it up and there was a dead rat in there and it appeared to have been dead for a very long time since it was almost to the bone. Unfortunately it just didn't work out and we canceled and now spray our own yard with the same chemicals they used and have our own rodent traps which we make sure to actually check and refill. read more

Weird review, but I have no other choice to get a response. Been a happy customer for a couple of years. They said any time in between the every other month visit, just call and they will come out for free for any pest type of issue. I did that, and got a an extra charge for $90. I asked why the extra charge and I got radio silence. I asked to see our contract and have been ignored for a month, but we keep getting our monthly bill. I think they did a great job. We had birds nesting under our solar panels and so much bird poop on our roof. We didn't realize until we bought the house and set up our security cameras and realized there were birds up there. We called Unipest and they made it really easy. They cleaned up all the bird poop, remove the bird's nest and sanitized the roof. They also put up a bird barrier. I thought the price was reasonable. Everything worked out really well. They mentioned that birds would be going a little crazy and still come around because they still think it's their home. However, it has been 3 weeks now and there's still a lot of birds that are on my roof. Therefore, not sure if this is normal?? read more

While providing us with this free quote the employee (son of owner?) decided to speak about their personal opinions and ask questions that are private, here's a few examples: 1) talked about the "Gay pride month" 2) talked about masks and how "they're bad" 3) asked how me and my partner met. 4) what was the pickup line? 5) what does your partner do for a living. 6) experimenting on children with the vaccine Like seriously, you should honestly keep those personal questions to people you actually know - this is not at all professional. Nor should it matter when you're trying to provide a service. The customer should be driving how personable they want to be, and you should keep your curiosity to yourself. Finally, you should keep your opinions of non-business related ideas to yourself as well. We value masks, science, and vaccination as a family. This goes to my personable statement above again. We had termites in one of the wooden posts in our front patio. Cardon from Unipest came out in a couple days of calling, and explained what he saw and the suggested treatment in a very clear, concise manner. The post needed to be replaced, and neighboring wood treated with orange oil, and the attic sprayed. He also threw in a general pest perimeter spray around the house into the deal. Amir was the guy who actually did the post replacement and treatments, and did a fantastic job. The attic was sprayed, the post treated and replaced, and then paint-matched perfectly with our existing wood. He completed all that and the general perimeter spray in five hours, on his own. Quick response, and very careful in assessing where to drill and scope for bees. They removed a beehive from within the walls in an area underneath roof tiles without disturbing the roofing at all. A little extra liquid used in the process but they will return and repaint if the issue doesn't clear on its own. FAST RESPONSE: Just moved in to our new home in SCV and realized we did not want to have uninvited housemates creepy crawling around so I sent Unipest a yelp message. They immediately returned my call and in that SAME DAY, within the NEXT HOUR, Carden was at our door! KNOWLEDGEABLE: He sat down with us and explained that he would be doing an initial spray and a follow up spray to kill any eggs and larvae that were left over. He also explained a whole lot of other things to us and it felt like watching a discovery channel segment on pest control! FURBABY SAFE: I have a dog and he reassured us that the product is completely safe for dogs. He compared the chemicals in the spray to chemicals found in anti-flea shampoo.... It makes sense. When I put Frontline on my dog, I am essentially putting pesticides on her. THE JOB: He sprayed around our perimeter and along the baseboards in the house. I also saw him digging through the yard because of a suspected gopher hole. He placed a trap just in case. The spray was quick. We also opted for the rat traps and we were told that he would return to place the traps since he didn't have any at the time. Sure enough they returned the next weekend to set up the traps. We also requested to re-spray the inside baseboards because I'm a paranoid arachnophobe and I saw ONE spider in the house after the initial spray. They did a re-spray with no additional charge. POST SPRAY UPDATE: So far so good. I haven't seen another spider in the house since the second spray. I did see a spider in the backyard... but it was dead l. Have not seen any crickets since and I don't think I heard any last night. We still haven't gone through our 2nd spray that will get rid of eggs and larvae and will be updating my review in a few months. OVERALL: Unipest has been professional and prompt with responding to our needs. It is fairly priced and there's no contract, so no pressure to keep their services. I think that shows confidence in their work...and with my extreme aversiveness towards creepy crawlers, I'm thusfar satisfied in their work! read more

Cardon and his team came out to do our subterranean termite remediation. They worked tirelessly under the house to ensure all of those critters are gone. His dad was also amazing and was an site to ensure the truck releasing chemicals is safe and working properly, he said someone licensed has to be there at all times. They're an amazing team and super trustworthy. No sight of termites since and it's been a couple months - no one coming through the wall anymore. We used another company to do our tenting for Drywood termites and two years later that company is now closed. Make sure to use these guys because they are licensed, professional and are still around years later :)) Now we are using them monthly to spray for bugs around the property, they de-web and spray carefully around to ensure no toys are touched. I don't think I've ever been this excited to leave a review for any company before. We moved into a new house after getting a clean termite inspection report during escrow; however, we found termite droppings on the front porch about 3 weeks later. The company that performed the original inspection did come back out and I was extremely underwhelmed. They wanted to treat a tiny area near the bottom of our house, despite my concerns and observations that the termite droppings were coming from higher up. So after researching on Yelp, I called Unipest to come out for a second opinion/inspection. Cardon showed up within the hour! He was extremely knowledgeable about everything to do with termites and explained things so thoroughly that I walked away feeling that I myself might be an expert. LOL After hearing what he explained, I decided to go with the orange oil treatment. When Amir and Victor arrived for the job this morning, they were also extremely knowledgeable and informative. I was a little bit worried that once they opened things up we might have a bigger problem. But luckily they were able to find where all the termite holes were and how high up they actually went. They thoroughly inspected all areas. They took down wood pieces to further explore, treated the wood, and put it back. They caulked and even painted the exterior patches to match. They were efficient hard-working and very detail oriented. They explained everything to me along the way. In addition to the orange oil treatment, they did a Bora Care treatment in our attic, as well as treated the perimeter of my house for insects and and even took down a wasps nest all included in the cost of the termite treatment. This turned out to be so much more effective and thorough than the other company was willing to do. We feel so lucky to have had this dream team take care of us.
