I've been meaning to review Unipest for awhile. I purchased a home in Castaic back in August and after moving in noticed an ant problem. After spraying with Home Depot insect repellent the ants were winning the battle. My son and daughter in law were staying with us for a few days with my grandaughters 4 and 8 y.o. You know how well little girls and bugs get along! Called Unipest and they were able to send someone out that day. My daughter was very impressed with the service and professionalism of their employee and the ants were gone! They just came today and sprayed again and my Wife called me to say how impressed she was with the service and how nice the 2 guys who came to spray were. Cardon came out for a termite inspection for free which was great and gave a quote on what it would cost for the different treatment. He was very knowledgable and explained the pros and cons of each method. We ended up going with the orange oil treatment since that seemed like the best option for us. He and his team were very professional and were able to do a great job in only a couple of hours. They also include a one year warranty against termites for the entire house. Cardon was really nice but the subtractors that came to do the actual work, I would not recommend them. They subcontractors used a shovel to see if it had drywood damage, creating more surface damage than necessary. They did not create enough holes in the beam to treat for termites, and did not fill the holes in after. Very overpriced and honestly I felt scammed. read more

Thanks to the guys at Unipest (Cardon, Amir, and Kyle), our garage is termite free and hope it stays that way. Chose orange oil and boricare combination to kill the termites and to help prevent them from dining on my garage in the future. They also sprayed my attic with boricare. Really great guys to work with! They even marked my insulation so I know which piece goes where after electrical work is finished. Answered any questions I had about the whole process. I just bought a new home in Valencia, so I wanted to make sure the house was "bug free" before bringing in the furniture. I found the nearest pest control company here on Yelp and decided to give Unipest a try. I called and was kindly greeted by a woman who seemed completely knowledgeable and courteous. At the time of my call, the pest control person was at a training seminar and couldn't come to inspect immediately, but I was told someone would call to schedule a visit, and just as promised they called a few hours later and even came the same night. I was surprised to meet a high energy, well educated guy with a great disposition and knowledge about bugs. Seriously, he even went on about life cycles and all sorts of bug world facts. I found their rates to be sensible and decided to hire them on the spot. The following day, Cardon showed up right as scheduled and began the treatment on the outside of the property. He did a very thorough job and made precise remarks on what to look for and expect in the future. A real gentleman and professional. I've already set up and pre paid service for the rest of the year. Unipest to the rescue! I was skeptical about finding a pest control company because of prior experiences and put up with ants in my house for years. I finally had to give in because I had a baby on the way and couldn't have ants crawling on her. I called Unipest up and they quoted me a great price then came out the next day to spray. Cardon explained everything to me and assured me it was safe for my baby and pets. After they sprayed, I never saw another ant! The day I came home from the hospital with my new baby girl, I picked my dog up from the kennel and found out he had fleas. I called Unipest and they came out the same day to spray the house. Craig and his wife were very empathetic and were very helpful. I was so happy they were able to come out the same day and keep us, and the baby, free from fleas! "Nice" is a quality many people oversee when dealing with pest control companies. However, when those companies have access to your home, there is a sense of relief knowing that the staff servicing your residence are respectful, approachable, and honest. We didn't actually end up using them because the swarm of bees that collected under the eaves went away after a couple of days, but they were super responsive and helpful in letting us know what to look for, and reassuring us that it likely was not urgent- thus saving us a bunch of money since we did not need to pay someone to come out! read more

Very pleasant experience! Cardon was super friendly from his initial phone call to his actual visit. I was worried I had termites and he came out the day I called and for FREE! Other pest companies were quoting me at least $150 for the inspection and not for a few days later. Turns out I didn't have termites and he gave me so much advice on pest control and what to notice if I ever do have termites. We recently had a swarm of bees by our front gate to come onto our property. We had no idea thousands of bees had been forming their hive and living in our wall until we called Unipest. They came that same day and diagnosed the problem, luckily the swarm died down and the next day the team came out again to fix it for good. Had a brief but friendly conversation with a male who identified himself as "Cardon" of UNIPEST. I was given Unipest pest control information via YELP. Our conversation went well so I agreed to meet and hire his and his fathers company. Scheduled a visit with Cardon of Unipest for 2:00pm to which he agreed. After 2:00, I received a call from Cardon who was already an hour late. I had already text him my address to which he claimed he did not receive. I gave him my information over the phone and he said he would be by shortly as he was in Newhall and I'm in Stevenson Ranch. An hour later, I called Cardon and canceled the visit. Amir did the work of orange oil treating our fence which had 3-4 hives in it. He also salt sprayed our attic as a protective measure. Amir put on shoe covers too before I even asked. We called Unipest on the recommendation of two friends after waking up to find evidence of critters helping themselves to our fruit bowl. Cardon came out right away, on his day off, to assess the problem and find a solution. He knows all there is about rats and how to get rid of them and even discovered evidence of termite infestation missed by the company that had just recently treated for them. He and his team came out a couple of days later for the rodent exclusion, did some extra treatment for the termites, and gave us a report to show to the other company so that they'd come out and finish the job they started. While I've only had one treatment so far, this company is prompt in getting back to you with details and has a staff that is knowledgeable about their services and the industry in which they specialize. I felt like I learned alot talking to the owner and subsequently his son Cardon, who administered our first pest control service. We discussed my options with consideration for my pets with special respiratory needs and eased my concerns with education on the products used in my home beforehand. I feel like we're going to get a rapid hold on a pest problem I've been reluctant to tackle and it took very little time to actually complete the first treatment. Used them for over a year. They were polite and professional. They would routinely come visit. However when life circumstances needed that we reschedule a visit with office, they came anyway. Ok, honest mistake. Next time they came without calling first (something they'd always done before). We weren't there so they sprayed outside and had to come back. Then another time we wanted to change dates and they accommodated and then didn't. They came again. Called and got the run around by two people in the office. Very unprofessional. Threatened to raise rates if we cancelled service and came back another time. Just didn't like they way we were treated in the in. Shame because they were great for about a year. read more

They were on time on the day of the job, and more than anything they explain the job they are going to complete in large detail for the owner to understand the process. I messaged Unipest through Yelp! and received a response right away. I then called Cardon to explain that I thought we might have termites, and he said that he was nearby and would come by within the next hour or so. He was running late dealing with a crazy bee hive, but I appreciated that he texted to let me know. He came by and checked what I thought were termite droppings and thankfully he said that I just had crickets! I didn't even know crickets left droppings, but I'd rather have crickets over termites any day! He checked around the outside of the house just to make sure, and thankfully there were no other signs of termites. I appreciated his knowledge and the fact that he was just matter-of-fact about everything, and not trying to pressure me into anything.
