Sal gave us a super fair estimate, and we brought the car to his place for a 2 day job that he finished in 1.5! I was particularly happy because there was one extra piece that was a little scratched up on the inside, but Sal said that if I didn't mind the cosmetic damage, it would be better to just leave it (otherwise it'd be way more expensive to replace the part). Sal's Mobile Body Shop is a father and son team-Sal and Sal Jr. I had a "crease" dent in my truck door from someone letting a heavy cart loose at Costco. In the middle of the dent was a scratch I'd been trying to find someone to remove the dent and then I would buff out the scratch I got about 5 quotes on yelp. They ranged from $300-$700. Sal's was not the cheapest or the most expensive but they said that they would take care of the dent and the scratch and have a lifetime warranty and could be out in two days. They were really responsive and had great reviews. They came out and did a ton of work. Their approach was not what I was expecting. I thought it would be popping the dent out and then buffing. They ended up filling it all, sanding, color matching, and repainting. It looks like new-not what I was expecting at all. The value feels like it was very high. Let me preface my review by saying I love Yelp! I wouldn't have found Sal's body shop without it. I was driving in a weird parking structure and hit the side of my BMW on the concrete pillar while exiting it. I didn't think it was worth going through insurance as I knew my deductible was more than the cost of fixing it. After reading the reviews here, I called Sal and he immediately asked me to text him pictures of the damage. He then gave me a quote for the work which was pretty reasonable and I was able to make an appointment with him for the week after. I love that he's very responsive on texts and it's an easy process communicating. It took 4 hours and my car was back to being perfect again! He did a fantastic job and was really nice and professional. I felt totally stuck-- I was getting turned away from other mobile places who said the job was too big, but auto shops were saying the repair would cost more than the car was worth. It was honestly embarrassing and a lot of places I called made me feel judged. I was starting to feel like I was doomed to drive a beater around forever until I found Sal. I had a long, maybe 3 ft scratch going vertically down my tailgate from a garage door closing on it. I called them and requested a quote. I sent a couple photos of the damage via text message and received a fair quote over the phone. At first I was scheduled for next Thursday, but they had a job cancel, contacted me, and Sal and Sal Jr (father and son team), who run the auto body shop from their house in Highland Park, got me in same day and completed the job, which required sanding, buffing, and repainting the entire tailgate, by the end of the day. The tailgate looks good as new, it's perfectly color-matched, and the price was incredibly reasonable. It was walking distance from my house (though they'll offer to come to you!) and I got to talk Dodgers with them, as the work was completed in the middle of Game 6 of the WS.
