I had an experience with K Cooling and Heating which was not very pleasant. One of the A/C units in…read moremy house stopped working and I called K Cooling & Heating to get it fixed. They showed up promptly on time. They technician (seemed like a trainee) spent around 2 hours checking the A/C system and told me that a coil was damaged and it will cost around $230 to fix it. I said ok and the coil was replaced, but the A/C unit didn't work. He did more investigation and told me that a panel need to replaced he didn't know the cost. He wanted to charge $230 right away and I insisted payment can be made only after fixing. Later the same day, supervisor/ manager from K cooling and Heating showed up to verify the finding and confirmed it. They gave me a quote for $870 to replace the panel. It looked so fishy and I told them - let me do little more research and get a second opinion. To my relief I was able to find another company to fix the panel for $350. The A/C unit is fixed by the second company. Now I have an invoice for $231 from K cooling and heating, which I am going to pay - not a good customer experience.

Although they were the most expensive we were swayed by the presentation of Bruno, their technician and sales rep. The Lennox 2 and 1/2 ton unit they were offering was the most modern and efficient and was made in the USA. Their warranty was not the best one offered by others but seemed like it would be the most reliable in an emergency. We were also swayed by the mostly positive reviews of Wilco when we looked up the company on the internet. We worked with Karen, their office rep who was willing to work with us somewhat on the price. She was friendly, courteous and informative. When I had some additional questions concerning the specs of the units we were buying all our questions were quickly answered by Doug Willis their manger. On 6/12/25 the new unit was installed in one day by the techs Vincent and Charlie. The job was not easy as it required disassembling the old handler unit that was up in the very hot attic and then disassembling and reassembling the new unit up in the attic. They were extremely neat, informative and courteous and had the job completed in approx 7 hours. One week after the installation, on the hottest day of the summer, I noticed water leaking out through the roofing soffit. We called Wilco who was swamped with repair calls due to the hot weather and we were told to shut down the unit. They also promised to send someone up the same day to check out the problem. True to their word the on call tech Vincent came out to our house at around 6 p.m. and fixed the issue which turned out to be minor. I was very impressed with Wilco's quick response and resolution of our problem. Sometimes the cheapest price is not always the best price. Most HVAC contractors (I called 3) would not give a price for the freon over the phone. They ALL wanted to send a technician out, for a fee, and the technician would then tell me the cost. What a racket! At last, I found a nice lady at Air Group in Hanover to tell me the 1st LB would be $400, and then each pound after that would be $200/lb. So, for 4 lbs of freon R-22, Ron Jon ripped me off the $600!

They could not do the work on the originally scheduled date but called us a few days in advance to let us know that the equipment received had a defect. Two were trainees but the rest of them had been with the company for many years and all were very happy employees. They worked efficiently and expertly, leaving a working beautifully. We received a paid invoice the next day along with some further instructions. There was no nickel and dime-ing with anything. We would recommend them highly.
