We purchased a prom dress in March and was told it would be ordered new and in by May 7th. It was not and when I asked for tracking information she said she didn't have it. When the dress finally "arrived" in mid-May, it was stained, had no tags and had pulls in the fabric. I asked if it was the sample. Shelly said no, but could not show us the sample bc 'they got rid of it.' With less than a month to go, we moved forward with alterations and a promise that it would cleaned and fitted. Ultimately, I picked up the dress less than a week before prom. It was still stained. Never sent to the dry cleaner, even after Shelly told me that she sent it to NYC for a special cleaning and I should be thankful. The alterations she did make were sloppy and the dress was poorly fitted. We took it to another tailor who could only make slight alterations to her sloppy work. He showed us how she only took-in one side of the dress!! Unfortunately that meant that the dress would be off-centered. I reached out to Shelly to express our disappointment and she didn't respond. I…read morevisited several stores and boutiques before coming to VERA'S and I was getting a bit discouraged because I tried on at least 3 dozen dresses and I loved parts of some dresses but never the entire dress. When I first walked into Vera's I was greeted so warmly by the reception, namely Irene. The shop was super clean and looked fairly organized. I was paired with Tiara and I showed her a few images of dresses I tried on before with parts that I loved in each one. She picked out 3 dresses for me. What an eye she has! When I tried on the first one, I KNEW IT WAS THE ONE! It's like watching Say Yes To The Dress when brides just feel it's "the one". I tried the other two anyway and after both, I still felt like I needed to try the first one again. Joanna is a magician. The dress was a size 10 and she needed to take it in to a size 4/6. The final fitting was so surreal, the dress fit me like a glove. My dress is intricate with beading and lace and it's crazy how she was able to alter all of it seamlessly!! Because the dress was a floor sample, and not my size, it was at a better price point than a lot of other boutiques. I felt very valued here compared to other boutiques. If I had to recommend a bridal shop, I would highly recommend VERA'S!

Christina accommodated many appointments and stayed late when the appointment ran late. I'm giving three stars SOLELY because of my experience with alternations. I was told before I bought my dress that altering the sleeves would be no problem. So I said yes to the dress because I was told the sleeves could be changed and was super excited. During my first fitting I was told by the seamstress that the sleeves couldn't be altered the way I was told they could. And if I wanted them like that I wouldn't be able to move my arms. If this was explained to be before buying the dress, I probably would've thought twice about that particular dress. (I would've undoubtedly bought my dress from Sister's Bridal because the service and selection was great). The alterations were very stressful and took 4, maybe 5, fittings to get the sleeves to look semi like what I was originally told (I live an hour+ away, and had to leave work early for many of these appointments). And the seamstress seemed VERY bothered by my alteration request. One my wedding day it was a disappointment with the way the custom alterations looked. The sleeves were uneven. One side held higher on my shoulder and the other wouldn't hold on my shoulder, it was lower on my arm. I can see this in every single forward facing picture from my wedding day. I can't even explain how disappointing that is. It wasn't how I was wearing it either. One side was altered differently and when I tried to move the other side down, material folded awkwardly. When I tried to move the lower side up, it pulled too much and wouldn't stay. Trust me, I tried! So, my advice is buy a dress you love 100% as is and IF you want custom alternations, have the actual seamstress there to say it can be done before buying the dress.

Adrienne was very nice, helpful, patient and professional. She wasn't pushy and let me look around at my leisure for the dresses I wanted to try on. She also took pictures so that I could show my mother and sister who were not able to shop with me due to COVID. They also have a wide selection of dresses. I would def recommend.
