I have to admit I am a late bloomer and discovered eyebrow threading way too late, but hey better late than never right? Heh, the fact that I'm using such a cliche quote should tell you a lot about me...ANYWAYS-I really appreciate that the ladies here understand what it means to define the eyebrows without over-plucking. I don't have a specific lady that I go to-I've been here about 5-6 times and have had 2-3 different ladies work on my brows that they've all been great. If you are worried about them not getting the shape right or about them over-plucking, etc then I highly suggest bringing in a picture. This way they can have a visual of what you want AND *most importantly* they will tell you that with the eyebrow shape/amount of eyebrow hairs that you have now, if what you are looking for will be achievable. I.E.: if you bring in a photo of a model with thick, arched eyebrows as your inspiration but your natural eyebrows are thin and the hair is sparse. All in all I would highly recommend this place-BUT I will say to come in early in the morning or later in the day. Around the lunch rush 12pm-2pm, I've found them to be quite busy. read more

I walked in on Friday almost three weeks ago for my eye brow threading.One dark color ,short height ,long hair fatty lady showed me attitude to sign on the paper.She had a lot of attitude even though she can't understand and speak in English .She did my eye brow horrible , too short and thin .I asked the price she replied cassssss .She gave me the card and asking me to get more services .Oh Lord ! l never wanna go back to this place. Good service and nice people, but I was in a rush and trying to get in and out really quickly. I asked how long the wait was, she told me 3 minutes. I ended up waiting 15. I also asked if I could call ahead next time, and she said no. Came here a month ago because my regular eyebrow place was still closed down (I have been going to the same one for 6 years) and I am so happy I gave this place a try! I've been coming here for the last 8 years to get my eyebrows threaded. They always do a great job. I went today and I was very impressed by them. They did a great job at maintaining safety measures and disinfecting all equipment after each use. They even disinfected the waiting chairs after each use. I met the owner of the store today & she was the sweetest person. She is also by far the best at eyebrow threading -- it was a lot less painful & my eyebrows look especially nice compared to usual. As I waited for her to finish attending the customers before me, I heard her make conversation with every single person, asking them their name and really getting to know them. She did the same with me. She told me this was a family business that she opened in 2011 with her brother. Prior to Goma at Unique Eyebrow Threading, I do not recall where or when or how I got my eyebrows done. Okay, that is a bit of strength but I can not emphazie enough how much I appreciate finally finding a place that I come to regularly for my eyebrows. I no longer have to really explain how I want them done because Goma remembers or follows the prior work she did on my brows. I am not sure how she remembers but she does and all I have to do is sit on the chair, hold up my brows and converse. The place is always clean and it's spacious. There is a bathroom all the way at the back and they keep it very clean as well. The walls are pink and the television is always playing videos that look like a Bollywood movie. There are magazines provided if there is a wait and they are current issues, which is not common in most places. I really like that there is no fluff or unnecessary decor with this business. It's a minimalist vibe with one goal in mind, which is to provide great service! Thumbs up: Parking is always available. There are non-busy time slots, which are perfect because Goma is solo majority of the time. Inexpensive. After nine visits, the tenth one is free with a stamp card. Thumbs down: Goma rushes when it's busy and there is plenty of customers waiting. Be sure to come on a weekday, before or after lunch. Was hesitant to come here bc of the couple places down the street with more reviews but I like to give the underdog a fair chance and they had a $5 for $10 deal so I stopped here (and it's closer to me). I hadn't touched my eyebrows all winter vacation - 4 weeks, so I had what my boyfriend called a "logger's paradise" growing. Also wanted my upper lip done. Same story but doesn't seem ladylike to describe it haha. Came in here and was greeted with a smile, eyebrows are $8 and lip is $4. I usually get threaded in about 5-10 min but that's when I maintain in between. I was impressed when she took the extra time and care to thread every teeny hair, stub, and ingrown (those are every girl's eyebrow nightmare) even though I had used a Yelp Deal. She could have just as easily cleaned me up and not been a perfectionist and sent me on my way. But she was every unwanted hair's nightmare. 15 min later My face was perfectly kempt. She said my bill was $2 ($12bill-10yelpdeal) , i then realized i only had a 100$ bill and asked her if i could run to the grocery store next door to get change. She smiled and said of course even though it might have seemed to anyone else that i might run out. when I came back and handed her a $5 she told me she'd go get change. She was friendly, professional, and did my brows exactly like I asked her to -- clean and not too thin. She took her time and did them carefully which I appreciated. Only $7.99. I've gone here three times already the last two she had burn my upper lips with the wax and thread my eyebrow leaving a burn feeling afterward. My painful lips was wrongfully waxed. She slaps a chunk of wax on my lip and just literally rip it off with force which open my flesh. I've come here to thread my eyebrows a few times. I wouldn't say I thread every two weeks, but I try to at least once a month. The lady - I'm terrible with names, please forgive me - is the absolute best at her job. I used to work in the area and it was very convenient for me to get my eyebrows threaded after work. I would avoid before work since my skin is sensitive and would turn red right after the threading. I even brought my sister once and she liked it! Even when I live in San Pedro, and work close to DTLA, I've come here a few times because she knows how to revive my brows after I let them grow out. Shame on me, I know lol. I was getting boba at Happy Lemon when I saw that the staff at Unique eyebrow threading had setup outside. I haven't gotten my eyebrows threaded since mid March and was willing to try Unique, as they have excellent reviews. I was not disappointed. I have very difficult to shape eyebrows, they grow in different directions and I have a bald spot. I let Bhumi do what she wanted with them and she left them looking clean with a subtle arch. I love them! I also watched Bhumi and her husband sanitize the chair before and after I sat down, wear gloves and sanitize their hands and equipment. My eyebrows do not match. Like others here, one is thinner than the other. I repeatedly pointed this out to Goma. She kept insisting that she wanted one to grow in. That would make sense if that was the brow she left thicker. She kept saying that about the brow that was thinner. My brows are not uniform, but almost all the waxers I have gone to have made them even. I will not go back because of this. The two stars is because each brow individually looks great. She did a fantastic job getting all those pesky baby hairs that I have. I should have listened to my gut and walked out when I noticed how terrible her eyebrows looked. They were way overgrown with so many strays. That was a clue, but I defaulted to Yelp reviews. I can see why people gave 5 stars if their eyebrows matched.
