Came in this store to check out some furniture for my new place. I saw a lot of signs saying to watch your children--which I totally get. What I didn't see was a sign saying no photo, video, or phones allowed until after I was told by the lady. I complied and put my phone away but damn. Lol. Not sure what the harm is in having your phone out and taking some pictures to show someone else. Obviously I'm taking photos because I saw something I liked. After the lady told me to not take photos, she began to follow us around the floor -- basically babysitting, just watching where we went and it made us uncomfortable. We left. Amazing Furniture, Prices and Service! Ask for Chi! I recently moved into a new place, and being that I no longer was going to live with roommates, I figured I would furnish my new place with quality furniture. I no longer wanted cheap crap that "looks good and fashionable" but made of manufactured wood or polyester that doesn't survive moving. Looking at you IKEA! Most of the places I went to didn't carry 100% leather furniture because they said most people didn't want to pay the price of it. They basically sold lower PU Leather and fabricated wood (which is basically compressed sawdust and glue). I knew I was going to embark on quite a search to find the quality I was looking for. After going to several furniture stores (including Living Spaces & Ashley Homestore) we decided to stop into Unique Furniture as my parent's had bought their bedroom set there a few year back and mentioned it. It was the BEST furniture store I walked into during my 2 week search! First off, lets talk about the QUALITY. Unique furniture has actual quality crafted furniture, made from quality materials! Hands down legit REAL WOOD and TOP GRAIN LEATHER! I went into Living Spaces and was very disappointed that most of their items were bonded leather, polyester and manufactured wood. Yet, they will gladly charge you the price of real leather. Unique Furniture has the largest choice of styles and materials I came across. From inexpensive, low cost fabrics to top of the line, highest grade materials. Second, PRICES are incredible deals for what you get! I was looking for higher grade furniture that can last the test of time (and potential future movings), so I was willing to pay a bit more for that. I actually was quite shocked that the sticker prices on the items at Unique Furniture were MUCH LOWER than stores like Ashley Homestore and Living Spaces who were selling lower grade furniture. You get much better quality for lower prices at Unique Furniture. Even if your not looking for high end items, and just need an inexpensive couch or table, Unique Furniture has those too. And you will pay much less than what other stores try and sell them at. Third, the SERVICE was top notch. From the moment I walked in, the staff merely greeted me and let me know they are available for questions and then just let me wander the store browsing. They didn't hover or follow me around the store. When I narrowed down my search to some items, the staff was extremely knowledge about their products. Chi ended up helping us and she was phenomenal. She knew exactly the kinds of woods that were used in each piece. Showed us the difference between her selection of REAL LEATHER couches, Half Leather/Half Polyester powered reclining sofas and Bonded Leather reclining chairs. Chi completely understood what I was looking for and not once tried to sell me on something I didn't want. She was extremely patient we me (I visited her 3 times before purchasing my furniture.) and helped me take accurate measurements to best fill my new space. Her knowledge and attitude towards helping pick the right combination of furniture was very much appreciated. I picked up my entire bedroom, dining room set and living room furniture complete with an 80" TV stand from Unique Furniture. All of it 100% real wood (not particle board) with sturdy quality craftsmanship. Chi bundled everything up nicely, gave me extremely fair price and set delivery up for the end of the week. I will definitely be recommending this store to everyone I know who is in the market for new furniture. If I am ever fortunate to upgrade to a larger home, the first and only stop will be Unique Furniture for my additional rooms. Additional shout out to Luke, who also assisted us during the process. He is a very personable guy, down to earth and funny. He made us feel at ease, and always willing to explain and show the quality of the furniture. read more

Fantastic customer service and great selection of affordable pieces. I purchased my bed from Unique, they did not have the color I wanted in store so we ordered it from the vendor catalog. Long story short, the bed arrived and the manufacturer delivered the wrong color. When the bed arrived, we looked at the bed together, the sales gal noticed it right away and she, as well as her team made sure they did all they could to help make the issue right. They were wonderful through the whole process. I would also like to mention, this whole mishap was not their fault, it was the manufacturer's fault. A new bed (different from original) was delivered a few days later, it was delivered on time and they put the bed together very quickly. Danny helped us with a twin mattress and gave us such a good deal and was very helpful and kind. We went to Costco in Almaden plaza and they didn't have a mattress at all displayed and the workers were lazy and useless so i was NOT having it anymore of the horrible service. Luckily we bumped into this place my mom told me about. They were all supposed to go here one night but they were closed at that time and my mom and i have been doing errands this Sunday and thought it'd be a perfect time to look for mattresses. BUYER BEWARE I purchased a faulty mattress from this store. Three nights into sleeping on the mattress, it was lumpy all over! I had to argue for over a month to return it. I didn't even get full price back! Luke, "the Owner" stated that he had given me a discount originally. How convenient, when I am returning something I had a discount applied originally. He literally said "you wanted a cheaper mattress". Are you kidding me?!?! I didn't think $1,000 was going to have springs and lumping! Sorry if I'm not made of money. The table we purchased does not do well with spills. All spills still show even after cleaning. I spent nearly four thousand dollars at this store and regret giving this business any kind of money. Luke such a down to earth honest person, he requested for us to go home for our living room dimensions/layout, gave us options, designed my couches EXACTLY how I wanted them and made them fit. This boutique was always my favorite. I bought my furniture 8 month ago from them and I was happy! The salesperson Kim is always helpful. She is vary patient, knowledgeable and friendly. That's why I suggested them to my whole entire friends and family. Last week we bought a sectional sofa and 2 dining chairs from them for $700, when we received them, we changed our mind and decided to switch with a loveseat and 2 more dining chairs which costs $150 more and they charged us for extra $35 for re-shipping which was fair. And also we were interested in a $300 single chair and we asked for more time to think about it. Today I called them to order it and they refused to do it for $300 and asked for $400 with unacceptable excuses. The way that they are treating their loyal customers is terrible. I thought about giving three stars instead of two but the mover stopped by my place without a face mask Steve in the office is cool; however, I was pressed for the money and the warehouse didn't even have the bedroom set my husband and I picked out. We gave $1500 cash the day we chose the bedroom set. We gave the rest two weeks later. We were told the item was on back order and needed to be patient due to pandemic. The set was ordered in August we did not receive it until mid November. I was pissed. I kept calling them like they called me for the money every other day. I even stopped by their location. When the bedroom set was received the mirror was chipped bedrail had damages and so did a drawer from the dresser and chest. I immediately took pictures and contacted the store. I sent the pictures via text to Steve. He assured me they would take care of it. I didn't even ask for money back. I waited another 3 months before I heard anything. Finally, I got a call that the guys are going to stop by and replace the bedroom set. I thought to myself great when they arrive it was on a day that was not scheduled. My husband told them Saturday they came on a Tuesday. No mask! I told the guy he needs to put a mask on. He gave me attitude. He spoke no English which made it more difficult to communicate. I called Steve for assistance he came over and they replaced one drawer. He told me I needed to wait longer for them to replace the other pieces. I'm pretty skeptical about every furniture store I see in San Jose on Monterey Road...but we needed furniture so we hunted for one. I've always seen this place so decided we would stop in to see what they had. They weren't a warehouse so selections weren't huge, but they still had a variety to choose from. Surprising we ran into one couch set that we fell in love with and on sale! We also found a dining table to go along with it and was sold. The young lady that helped us was very friendly and was even willing to negotiate a good price for us. This is not my first Rodeo (purchase) from Unique Furniture. I purchase end tables for my Master Bedroom in 2010. I love them. I wanted new tables for my living room. It had been since 1995 I purchased a set I was over due. I did look online. It's not the same as Coming to the showroom. I like to touch and see actual color. Shopping online is ok. But not for furniture. The showroom is fabulous So much to choose from. I think I spent at least an 1 1/2 looking and deciding. Thank god Kim is a patient person. I like the ability to take my time and not feel pressured by a "sales person". I placed the ordered. Then promised to look straight ahead toward the door. Or else I would have seen something else as fabulous. I'm very please with my choice. The quality is excellent. I wanted something timeless and modern. I did get what I wanted. They have lots of different and nice styles, at great prices. We bought a sofa from them about a year ago. It was a nice deep comfy sofa about 80inches I think, for about $900 at the time. Fantastic!! My only complaint is that I washed the cushion covers twice. By the second time the stitching had already come loose in 2 spots!! And the cushions inside are pretty cheap foam blocks glued together. ...So as long as you don't need to wash the covers ever this is a great sofa. read more

Moved to a new place and needed a new couch in time for a housewarming party. I enjoyed browsing around here, never felt pressured or hassled and no one tried to upsell me. They were helpful and answered my questions and let us borrow a tape measure to measure the couch. The salesman gave me an estimate of the time it would take for the couch to arrive (like a week) and it actually ended up coming a day or two earlier. They were very flexible with their delivery schedule. The delivery drivers were *just* on time (the window was 4-6 pm and they showed up at 6 on the dot) and super quick with getting the couch set up. They did leave a little bit of a mess (just a few pieces of cardboard on the floor/porch), but that wasn't a big deal for me. I think they were running behind and in a bit of a hurry trying to make sure they were on time for the next customer. I've had my new couch now for over a month and it seems to be well constructed and is very comfy. If for some reason it doesn't last very long, I'll update my review, but I'm guessing/hoping I won't have to do that. Based on my experience, I'd go back to Unique Furniture. read more

We recently bought a captain's bed for our son that won't stop growing :D Nam helped us select the right bed for him, and he is great to deal with. Their sales approach isn't pushy at all, and they provided a wide range of options and ideas to help us refine our selection. Their prices are really good, I have not seen much better at least not in this area. Delivery was on time and they took care of set up (delivery and set up are additional but at a very small incremental cost). We had one issue with the bed, and Nam himself came by to see it the day we called. We got it resolved quickly. He was as friendly and helpful as when we were making the purchase. Beautiful quality and only $449. They let me take it home with me, but delivery is free in San Jose. A few weeks ago I bought a beautiful black leather couch and love seat with four built-in recliners, a new dinette set to match, and a dresser for my son's room. Last week I saw the same dresser in a consignment store for $150 more than I paid at Unique! Years ago I bought my lovely living room couch and loveseat at Unique for $900. My husband's very rich cousin walked into our house and said "I have the same couch set!" They have a huge selection. We came here to buy a few set of furnitures for our new home. We was told the price included tax, delivery and installation. We paid a $500 down payment and came back a day before delivery to pay the rest. My fiancé gave her $1,200 in cash and told them to charge the rest in debit card. She goes no no cash only?? She said that what we agreed on and they can't do card. I did not agreed on cash only for that big amount... the guy that help us with the furniture before came out and told me that I was lying? DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! Please read this to the end.... BE AWARE that they will sell or give you the store sample and most probably a returned or used one! Yes, this exactly happened to us. We liked a set of beautiful leather sofa in their store, paid in full ($2500.00) and we were promised to receive our sofa within a week which was fine. The sofa set came in a nice condition but after only ONE week of its arrival, one set of sofa started to make a weird noise. The noise was coming from one or two spring inside the cushion. It was more obvious when we were sitting on it. The noise was similar to the noise of old vintage sofas, something that has been used for more than ten years. It was very disappointing because we were also planning to have a party soon after we got our sofa set. I contacted the store, they were first nice about it, but instead of offering us a whole new set, they told me that they have to send their inspectors over to our house to see and inspect the problem first, and see if they can fix it! Fine, the inspectors came over whom they were the same delivery people who brought our sofa set! they look at the sofa, then looked at me, and said they don't know where is noise coming from and they don't know how to fix it! As a solution they offered me to take the sofa back to the company, fix it and return it when it's fixed, and the whole process would take up to ONE week!!! Seriously, they wanted to leave their customer without a sofa for a week just because they sold a defective sofa and they were unable to inspect the problem! I didn't let them to take my sofa, I asked them to bring me a new one and they can take the shitty defective one. They explained me that it is their company policy that they take any defective purchased item back to company, fix it and bring it back. I did not quiet understand this policy because first off, why would you even sell a defective item to your customer??? Why on the earth a sofa set would make weird noise after a week of purchase? Long story short, after e-mailing for TWO weeks and negotiating with company back and forth, they brought us a brand new one! This one has not been making any noise yet, but the bad news is, the second piece that we bought (and was Ok until today) just started making noise!!! and it's only been two months since we purchased them! This time though, we are not calling and letting them know, because we don't want to go through the stupid and frustrating process of FIXing or exchanging it. The only thing that I could do was to come here and write this review for you guys who are planning to buy furniture from them. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. Go somewhere else. I was really disappointed with Unique Furniture. My boyfriend and I were searching tirelessly for a sofa set, and I had my eye on a beautiful set that I just loved. I can't remember who helped me but she was super nice, and helpful. We put a down payment of $200, and were able to pay the full amount once it arrived. The sofa set arrived in about a week which was great. It was delivered and they took our old couch with a $40 fee to dispose of it. Everything was going great until our love seat broke in about a month in a half. Obviously the framing of the sofa was not of good quality. Well, we called them to let them know we would like it replaced because it was still under warranty. Anyways, they were so unhelpful, and told us they would need the receipt. I mentioned that I had lost it but they should have a copy, and they explained to me that since I paid cash they throw away all their receipts, which is hard to believe. So they did not attempt to help us at all. Well.. my boyfriend ended up fixing the couch himself. It's just disappointing when they are sooo happy to help you spend your money, but once you need help with something else they are so rude and unwilling to help!!! I purchased an Ashley sofa and loveseat from Unique Furniture about 2 years ago - and it is very obvious that there has been a defect in the product but because it's over the warranty period Unique Furniture does not want to even know about my issue. Since they are rude and don't want to discuss my issue I turned directly to Ashley Furniture and their employees are given strict instructions to have all consumers deal with the retail store they merchandise was purchased. Which means I was turned back to Unique Furniture. We take very good care of all our home furnishings. It is very unfortunate that we purchased Ashley Furniture and the sofa cushion has a defect in the material - and it is even more unfortunate that no one from Unique Furniture on Monterey Highway in San Jose will not even help us out in any way. I do not think I would ever purchase another piece of furniture from Unique Furniture again - let alone purchasing another Ashley Furniture product since Ashley Furniture will not even stand by their product. This is very disappointing to me as a consumer. I would strongly advise you to look somewhere else for your furniture. Somewhere they will stand behind what they sell, and provide their customers with great after sales service. read more

I have visited this location twice. On my first visit I was just browsing and thought I found something I liked. Me being me I wanted to look at other stores to see what was out there. The salesman that helped me, I'm pretty sure his name is Luke...if it's not I'm so sorry. He was no pressure and really nice. I told him I would be back. About 3 weeks later after finding nothing I really liked elsewhere I came back. Same salesman same no pressure. I literally spent 2 hours there trying to decide which bedroom set I wanted. I finally picked one and set up delivery for a Saturday between 11 and 1. It came today at 11:30 and I looooove my new bedroom set. The delivery guys were great and didn't hit any walls. and they had to bring it upstairs and they even set it up for me. I have to mention i got a really great deal! They have a lot of great stuff and really good prices. Huge store. My son is going to need living room furniture soon and we will definitely come back here to make our purchase. This place has great furniture at great prices. In the last 2 months we've purchased a sofa, loveseat, coffee table and end table set, and a large bookcase. All have been great purchases and we are very happy. The sofa and love seat were far better than a La-Z-Boy unit we were considering from another store, and were half the price. The unit we were considering had 2 recliners: the set from Unique Furniture has 4 recliners total and is MUCH more comfortable. We were so happy we went back and purchased the bookcase, which is a beautiful design. We will be going back again for some more items. 2017 update: we have indeed returned for several more items.
